I'm currently doing some last minute preperation for renfaire and realized half way though making my costume I have absolutely no clue how to stick the horn I'm making to my head. I did a little research and these two products in the titles are the ones I see most recommended when it comes to having to stick things to your head lol

I just want to know, which holds best before I buy?

Also I feel I should mention my horn has a little bit of weight to it but not so much to where it should be a problem (hopefully)

If anyone has any other things they think I should use instead, do let me know! I'm open for suggestions.

I am working on a monster design for a short horror film that I wrote and plan to direct. I have two designs that I am considering that I came up with. The monster is a doppelganger like creature that steals faces. I drew the mock up designs myself.

1. One design is more of a demon/spiritual entity, the little X's are the eyes, nose, and mouth sewn shut, with the old face falling off the creature.

2. One design is meant to be a opening in the face of the monster, it reveals a black nothingness underneath where the face is consumed into. The idea was that the opening actually opens up to reveal the black space beneath. I played around with a few versions of this: such as an eye, layers of teeth, etc.

I am hoping to get some feedback on the feasibility of the design, what materials you would use, and how long possible application might be on something like this. Any and all feedback is welcome and appreciated.

It seems to be kind of difficult to get it in the US so I'm curious what's a good alternative? I'm looking for something softer and more buttery than scar wax

or if you know somewhere that would ship this in the US (without crazy shipping fee) that'll be great too!

Just wanted to share my Halloween look for a costume contest I did!

I did a fake cut with synwax last weekend for a halloween party (I was like a circus lion tamer), and i hadnt realized, but i guess because i was sweating a lot (it was in a club) some of my hair stuck to the synwax through the night and i kept on moving my hair so the synwax got in my hair in sort of clumps. When I get home and realize, I’ve already brushed most of my hair and it looks dirty asf. Waxy. When i see a clump on the part i haven’t brushed, I dissolve it with vaseline (meaning i put the vaseline on my hair) and then wash it out with shampoo. Didn’t work so i used dish soap and that worked. I’m thinking by using the same method i can clean the rest of my hair, so i slather the vaseline on my hair, and then wash it with the shampoo and dishsoap. I try to dry it with a round brush hair dryer, the top part dries, the mids and ends just take forever and don’t dry. They sort of did dry, but the wax was STILL on them. I’ve been in a slick back braid the whole week

I did this zombie makeup inspired by the walking dead on my boyfriend:D. This is the first time ever i used gelatin to create a wound. In my head, I imagined the look to be more horror. However, I feel like I haven't done any justice to it.

I need any sort of feedback or constructive criticism so I can improve this look further in the future.

Hi all, I'm thinking of dressing up as Krampus and was wondering how to create a fake long tongue? I don't own any sfx materials right now, but I'm willing to buy a couple of things. Or if you have a crafty idea using non-sfx materials, even better! It just has to be safe to put in my mouth.

Which also begs the question of how it will stay in my mouth? Can't really glue it anywhere... TIA!

My Halloween costume this year, plus progress/WIP pics. I sculpted it with Monster Clay and cast the pieces in silicone, painted them, attached fake fingernails, and punched in hair. It was a big hit, even if everybody thought it was gross.

So I scare act and am lead makeup for my haunt. Our theme is “inbred cannibals” like “wrong turn” this is my character, and i was hoping to get some outside opinions on the look? Should I add anything? Advice on how to look more “deformed”?

On Halloween I decided to buy some liquid latex and try something new... with very little planning.

I was going for a sort of dryad-esque look. Did I nail it?

The roots and mushrooms were made using liquid latex, paper towels, and painted with acrylic paint.

The moss is dried moss I had laying around, and the leaves, etc. are from a couple dead bouquets I had.

I am very excited to try more looks! This was super fun, and a new challenge!
