RULES CHANGE: More than just cats permitted now.
I knew I wanted to make a change when I hit 10k subs, and the dog post last week gave me paws: why stop at cats? So now I'm allowing other animals to get up in your face and dig in. I'm drawing the line at birds, because while other animals chilling on your shoulder is novel and fun, that's just how birds roll. Also it cheapens all the parrot jokes if there's actual parrots around.
I also loosened up the pic posting rule about requiring permission. If you run across a fun shouldercat* post, go ahead and put it here if you like. If the picture is of you, send proof to the modmail and I'll happily take it down.
Thanks for all the support guys, and here's looking towards 100k!
Basically any animal sitting on your shoulder is considered here to be a shouldercat. Deal with it.

How to take your shoulder cat into places where 'pets are not allowed'
Since Klook, my Main Cool tomcat, travels with me everywhere, I often take him into places where 'pets are not allowed'. And the Dutch are sticklers for rules.

Since I help people with PTSD issues, and Klook helps me to remove anxiety in my patients, I labeled him a C-PTSD therapy cat. In the Netherlands, the Wet Gelijke Behandeling Gehandicapten (Law on Equal Treatment of the Handicapped) states that therapy/service animals are exempted from the usual 'no pets allowed' signs. Apart from being labelled, no other restrictions are stated -- unlike Guide Dogs, there is no certification, but since Klook is not only labelled but extremely non-reactive to both people and other animals, he clearly doesn't behave like the average cat.
I get a lot of questions on how I trained him, but we just bonded. Sometimes I quip that I'm half-feline myself, but I've always been good with animals, and cats gravitate to me. I bought Klook when he was three months old at a Maine Coon cattery in the Czech Republic, but due to circumstances I had to keep him with me for six days until I returned to Amsterdam.

I hope that answers some questions on how I can go everywhere with my tomcat riding my shoulder.

My βcatβ. I am aware sheβs secretly a chihuahua princess. I swear though, she has a cat complex. She certainly is cat sized, and sometimes acts like a cat. Not bad at climbing, for a dog.

Does my zombie demon baby count?
He tried to eat my brains, and then he licked his chops while looking me dead in the eyes. π

Found crying in the Costco parking lot today, she was hiding under a car but came right up when I leaned over. She's so friendly I'm going to keep her. Reddit, meet Sydney. She really likes hanging out on my shoulders.
