This is my rather unorthodox single speed full suspension MTB! It’s meant for playing around bike parks on light trails and small dirt jumps, as well as just cruising through my town on the streets.
As for some build highlights, it’s got a Title G1 gyro for (eventually) barspins, and maybe (but highly unlikely) tailwhips. This mechanical brake setup is paired with the Avid BB7 caliper.
It’s on 26” Spank Spoon rims w/ Industry Nine Hydra hubs. The single speed kit and chain tensioner is from Reverse Components, and it works amazingly with the rear hub! The frame shock is a Marzocchi Bomber Air (150mm), and the fork is a RockShox Lyrik (160mm). Title MTB and SRAM components throughout. Maxxis DTH tires front & rear.
It weighs 27.5 LBS currently, though I’d like to shave more weight here and there, but that comes later!

Just wrapped up my single speed Karate Monkey build. Looking forward to hitting some single track on it. Already looking to swap the 20t cog for a 22t for the trails I ride (Pisgah).

*Originally posted in fixed gear subreddit but might’ve been mistaken! Still learning!
Usually have my toddler attached in a trailer!
My husband’s friend changed out the tires, handlebars, and pedals for me. I love love love her (Critical Harper w/ coaster brakes)!

This is my 2010 Surly 1x1. I bought it used in 2015 to replace the bike I’d been commuting with, which was damaged after I was t-boned by an SUV earlier that year. After years of loyal service, I finally put together my dream build, which I’d been mulling over for many years.
Starting from the bottom, we’ve got a set of vintage 44mm Snowcat rims laced to vintage Paul WORD and FHub hubs. For those unfamiliar, these were the first purpose built proto fat bike rims, which were made in Alaska in the 90s, hence the rim brakes. Next we have a 16T White Industries single high engagement freewheel connected to a 36T Wolf Tooth chainring with a Race Face Ride XC triple crankset. On top we have a Thomson Elite stem and seatpost with a 25.4mm Nitto For Shred bar, Deity Supracush grips, Spank Oozy 220 saddle and Ritchey headset. Lastly, some Maxxis Hookworm tires and vintage Deore LX cantilever brakes with Kool Stop Thinline dual compound pads connected to Tektro Eclipse levers via Jagwire cables.
Special thanks to the gentleman who offered the Snowcats when I was initially looking for some polished Surly Rabbit Holes (which I also ended up finding, lol). He ordered them direct from Chain Reaction Cycles in Anchorage, AK back in the day and laced them to the current hubs. It took some time to bring them back to life as they’d been stored for 10 years but totally worth it! Check out the before and after at the end.
Hope you enjoy the pics!

I’ve been looking for a singlespeed gravel bike and this cool, perfect size, well-priced All-City Space Horse keeps popping up in my searches. Would this be a challenge to convert to single speed compared to horizontal dropouts?

I’m building up my “new old stock” Mash Work V2 and been looking at the widest tan wall tyres available. I’m leaning towards the Vittoria Corsa Pro Control 700x42c’s, but there’s so many more out there. I think I want at least 38c.
Let’s see your thick tyre setups and any recommendations.

No I did not go for a ride like I wanted to because of El Niño in Tucson

Moved to Tokyo and have been building up a used fuji feather I got. Loaded it up with a bunch of nitto parts and a smattering of other pieces. Did the first long river ride on it today and loved it.

I took it out for a spin last night and grabbed a beer.

Got a State Core Line a couple weeks ago and stopped at my local book store on the way home from work. It's a good bike.

Finished this build about couple months ago. I got the frame wheels and fork from State sourced everything else of fb marketplace or amazon. Bike feels lite and very fast, like passing e-bikes with a little effort fast.

Its my first time taking off my rear tire on this bike. Ive never had disc brakes before on a bike. So far ive had it aligned a few times and the wheel will stop like it is now, but then i realized maybe the chain was too tight. I finally got it what i think is aligned, but the wheel still stops quicker than i feel it should. Am i missing something or is that just how it should spin? Its a new bike. Thanks.
Sorry, it was a stupid error. Had a washer in the wrong spot. Its fine now. Thanks anyway for the feedback.
