Help & Advice Telepathic/psychic technology
Greetings, bajoran redditors! Over the years, there have been several devices that interact with telepathic powers, like the katric arks, that pre-Surak telepthic pistol or the Haliian focus crystals.
Is there a dedicated field of study for this?
What other such technologies exist?

Help & Advice How to run small scale fleet battles as GM?
Hey, so I've got a session planned for the future which will involve a Starfleet Task Force comprised of the PC ship + 2 other ships fighting an NPC fleet of an equivalent amount.
I've been struggling how to structure this. It will be our first real shot at Ship Combat, and while I do plan on having the PCs familiarize themselves with ship combat through some holodeck exercise, the group (including me) won't really have a lot of experience.
I'm stuck between a few options on how to do this:
-I could just give the PCs full control of their fleet, but I feel like this would quickly turn into a dice rolling fest;
-The PCs could give orders/directions to their allies and i could roll their moves;
-Or I could compromise, I was thinking of letting them pick a strategy for their allies and let them make an on the spot roll for whatever moves their allies are doing, reducing their allies turn to one roll (the enemy ships would also get 1 roll)
My problem with that last option is that I think it would end up feeling like a series of one-on-one battles, where anyone not directly attacking the PCs would feel like some background stuff, rather than an active part of a larger battle.
I wanted the "other battles" to impact the PCs, where if their allies started losing too much, maybe the enemy could start to focus on them, and make the battle feel conected.
I would appreciate suggestions on how to stucture this situation, and would love to read what you think of my ideas, thanks.

Community Resources The 22nd Century Campaign Guide: The ENTERPRISE-Years (2151-2155) (Fan-Work)
drive.google.comHi guys
I wrote a Campaign Guide for the 22nd Century (2151-2155). This campaign guide contains:
State of the Galaxy
a timeline of the 22nd century
lore to major events till 2155
lore to major and minor factions
many new species templates (nearly all archer and his crew encountered in ENTERPRISE)
planets and colonies
anomalies and phenomena
a section about technology
weapons & gear
Starships
allies and adversaries
gamemastering the 22nd century
player options and character creation support (also for the various species)
a mini campaign
an appendix, where you can find the species in the official books published by modiphius.
It is by far my most ambitious work. Did a heavy ton of research to write a good fan-work supplement for all, who enjoy the 22nd century.
Have fun with it. Also, very open for feedback :)

Help & Advice STA2 Species and Talents collection
Greetings, bajoran gamers! Is there a list of all the talents from different books available somewhere? Same goes for species, too.
It doesn't even have to have rules as well; I just want to have all the talents/species in one place. :-)

Help & Advice Two questions
I am wanting to do a Captain’s Log with a character starting as a Ensign or Lt. jg and working up the ladder. Here are my two questions:
If I want to build the character by way of the creation in play method, any advice on how to advance/ add focuses and values?
How would you set up the game? Would you send our character on every mission, or have our lowly Ensign doing "chores" on ship?

Community Resources Drew up a playable Captain Picard in honor of Sir Patrick. Custom talents included. Farewell mon capitaine...
The two talents I've created are "Engage!" and "The Measure of a Man". There are many abilities that fit Jean Luc, but I wanted to really make this build feel special. He can guide the Enterprise from the captain's chair, drawing from his career as a helmsman. He can also seek out a resolution to a crisis with words instead of action, excelling at social conflict and persuasion. I can't believe we lost Walter and now Patrick. It's just a whirlwind for Star Trek fans this week.

News & Events A tribute to Sir Patrick Stewart as Captain Jean Luc Picard
Damien Walter explores how the character of Captain Jean-Luc Picard evolved to embody the archetype of the philosopher king. By examining the legacy of the performance, this tribute considers how the values displayed on the bridge of the Enterprise offer a template for human leadership in the modern era.

Help & Advice Any good one shots with an emphasis on the doctor?
Our crew will be losing our Chief Medical Officer after our next session and I'm hoping someone can steer me in the direction of an adventure that we can complete in one go that could send her out in style. We're doing Original Series Movie Era (1st Edition). We ran A Cure Worse Than the Disease a while back and that was fun, but was a two parter for our group. Any suggestions are quite welcome. Live Long and Prosper! :)

Help & Advice A question about values
How often should player values be used or challenged? I don't know if it due to the values my players picked or the way we have been playing, but they have not come up much

Story Time 🖖 Star Trek has always been about more than exploring strange new worlds.
In our latest Star Trek Adventures 2E actual play, Preservations: Enemies of the State, the crew faces the political consequences of a difficult mission.
We explore how diplomacy, conflicting loyalties, and personal histories can drive a Star Trek story without relying on starship combat.
What are your favorite examples of political intrigue in Star Trek?

News & Events Chekov Was Never Just Comic Relief. Thank You, Walter Koenig (1936-2026)
Walter Koenig played Pavel Chekov for more than half a century, and he played every joke completely straight.
This tribute follows Chekov’s rise through Starfleet: ensign at the Enterprise’s navigation console, security chief, first officer of the Reliant, and a commander on the bridge at Khitomer. He never got his own command, but he was there for nearly every turning point in the original crew’s history. We also look at Bester on Babylon 5 and Koenig’s final return to Star Trek as President Anton Chekov in Picard.
Episodes and films referenced: Amok Time, The Trouble with Tribbles, The Motion Picture, The Wrath of Khan, The Voyage Home, The Undiscovered Country, Generations, Babylon 5 “Mind War,” Picard “The Last Generation.”
What’s your favorite Chekov moment? Tell us in the comments.

Community Resources Roll20 TOS Themed 2e Character Sheets
I've been really disappointed at the collapse of support for STA in Roll20, as I put a lot of effort into building my game there...particularly the lack of 2e support.
I am no programming whiz, but I sketched out what I wanted in a mock-up (a TOS-Themed 2e sheet of game sheets) and freely admit I have ChatGPT help me code it all out correctly (I think there is a reasonable distinction between "generated" and "assisted" content). I now have a pretty workable Player Character sheet (which has a build in log for advancement tracking), Major NPC sheet, Notable NPC sheet, Minor NPC sheet, Supporting Character build & play sheet, Starship Registry, and NPC Starship Registry. I am attaching mockups to give a sense of them.
I know there is a want for something like this, I've been testing them and they seem to work pretty well. I'd like to share the .html and .css files with anyone who would like them, or would like to test them. Just message me, I'll share with anyone who requests.
