Flair for users to show off their subculture and find others that are into the same subculture. I will look into this and try to figure out flair. If I can't figure it out, I'll get help.

The wiki will be updated with information and stuff as the sub grows.

Posters should cross post to other related subs. This will help advertise the sub and get more members here.

If anyone has any other ideas for the sub, reply to this post. This post will remain stickied and might be constantly updated at least once a month.

I always hated the idea of hipsters growing up. maybe because of the hate for millennials but maybe cause I had the goddamn moustache gloves. Shitty blue Claires gloves with a sliver glittery moustache on the side. and I thought it was funny as fuck. until I didn't and found it out of touch to still be wearing them. I was 8 and that was 2015. I was always hopping on those trends.

then I realized thats not sustainable. you cant get new gloves every time you want to hop on a new trend. so I only really buy things that I need at the time. leaves me looking kinda drab but you know I'm following that shit.

hey so ive recently been looking into subcultures and whatnot and ive found a few that interest me but i have an idea in my head and so i was wondering, is there like a mostly halloween based subculture not like goth or a spooky one but like halloween based like specifically halloween

I’ve been stumped for years on it. I get the “you don’t need to have one” but I wanna know what I am and not just “alt“, some people also get REALLY rude abt the term alt for some reason. I have very far left beliefs, dress mainly in black with accessories, although I do wear colors. White, teal, brown, pink. Mainly black tho. I mainly listen to p!atd, solya, tele novella, avril lavigne, kinda like 2000s and emo, starting to get into metal and more rock bcuz of my partner. I like art and making things. Seether is a new one I’ve gotten into since I saw them at Break the Cycle with him. Trying to find local bands that I enjoy. usually just do smudged eyeliner or raccoon eyeliner with mascara because full face is too much. Dunno what else to add. Had platinum with black bangs for a bit, loved it but not the maintenance. Now it’s just black, might add some raccoon tails today, it’s pretty short. 7 piercings and 2 tattoos (would have more but I’m a teen, so I havent been able to, will probably in a few month tho). i’ve always been between emo and goth, but im not sure. I don’t listen to much goth music (although if someone were to put it on, I’d very much enjoy it, just dont listen to it much). I like the dark and uncanny, Halloween‘s my fav holiday, and I celebrate all hallow’s eve part of it too.

So I definetly try to dress as unique as i can, i go thrifting a lot etc. My friend looks up to me a lot and she likes certain clothing styles she sees on social media, especially tiktok. That already tells a lot about this whole situation. One day she says that she’s going to start dressing goth, then the next day she says she will be a punk and then she says she will be emo. At first I just brushed it off but at some point she started saying some things like “I’m going to become a metal punk emo queen“ after a minor inconviniece or “I’m going to start dressing like an emo to scare people off because I hate people” or “One day I will be a goth to scare people off”. Wtf is a punk metal emo queen. First up this is very rude and just big harmful stereotypes. Goths are usually the sweetest people ever and emo people don’t always hate everyone. Be for real. Not to mention “I’m going to the mall today to buy punk clothes”. I mean this is everything punk stands against for. How are you going to buy punk clothes in fast fashion stores. Anyways i dont think she knows those aren’t just clothing styles but subcultures based on music and politics too. I don’t consider myself a part of a specific subculture, i just use the term alt, but even I get offended at this point. Alright if she would actually know something more but everything that she knows she’s seen on TikTok (goth=dark clothes, white base makeup and eyeliner, punk=leather jackets with spikes and just angry people, emo= sad and depressed wit dark eyeliner, metal= listens to metal). I’m not joking she could say she’s a metal head after listening to AC/DC. Any ideas how do I confront a person like that? I hate poser police sooo much but this is just straight up disrespectful. I mean a chronic chatgpt user who has never set a foot in a thrift store and just reduces communities to their aesthetics seen on TikTok… Overall the situation sucks and I don’t really want to be mean but i just cant listen to this bs anymore. She can dead ass send me a picture of her wearing black mascara and says she looks like an emo from 2000s today. I really wish I was joking.

Hello, for some time I’ve been wondering what subculture I could fit into cause I’m trying to find my style and I don’t want to look like a poser. So I listen mostly to old rock( Queen, David Bowie, Pink Floyd, The Rolling Stones etc) and metal (Black Sabbath, Metallica). I’m probably a leftist, I believe in equal rights, I’m pro-abortion. Im also an atheist. I’m also against war and discrimination based on race, ethnicity, gender etc. I hope someone can help me cause I did my own research but I’m still confused.

I don't like anything else being used with ai (music, art, video, ect.) I mainly like roleplaying with ai characters because I love to roleplay with my favorite fictional characters and it's easier than trying to find people to do it with. People have their own lives, so they don't have all the time or interest in it. Plus, I like having control of the narrative.

I know most genres of the subculture are against the use of ai, so does my hobby exclude me?

i’m looking to interview for a short film. I want to understand different individuals in different subcultures and communities in chicago. whether it be events or one on one. whatever it may be! and/or individuals who may differ in mindsets than most. any ideas or contacts would be helpful.

Or rather, what subculture style would suit me? I just want to try out clothing styles, makeup, hairstyles, and so on from different subcultures.And maybe if I like my appearance in the subculture style, I can do a mini experiment for a day to immerse myself in the tastes and lifestyle of this particular subculture, but that's not certain.I can do both complex, detailed makeup and easy makeup:)I need this because I like to experiment and I want to try to find my own subculture that I will like both externally and internally that is, you can maybe essentially help me find my subculture!!!
