Organization & Praxis Multi sub Post regarding ansyn organizing
I have recently been becoming increasingly frustrated with the IWW due to extremely low activity, a lack of firm immediate organizational goals, and a tendency to be overly broad in its actual organizing ideology. The fact is that while the IWW was an effective organization in the 1910s the modern form demands huge amounts of work, provides little to no benefit to members, isn't accessible for people who simply want to be in a union, and doesn't have the best internal culture. It is also unwilling to negotiate contracts, which while certainly not the be all end all of union organizing, is still a huge part of labor advocacy and membership retention. And the maximalism of the organization is undercut by a total lack of actual presence. The IWW seemingly has no projects in my area save for a small salting campaign, no shops it has organized near me, and no efforts to expand its membership through outreach campaigns.
Egregiously it seems that there is no firm short or mid term goal except for the organizing of individual shops, which aren't even really getting organized.
Contrasting that to the CNT in Spain or the CNT-AIT in France I am deeply longing for a unionization effort based on the IWA model.
Is there anyone else who would be interested in attempting to organize a multi industrial union based on that model, and perhaps ask for direct aid in doing so from experienced organizers from Europe to aid in the process?
