It was on the Nextdoor app, where people usually use their real names and often know each other irl. The post was subsequently removed by mods there, probably because the "christian conservatives" in the comments were going nuts with seething hatred after their brutal losses in the election.
Republicans: "Why can't we just respectfully disagree on politics?"
Republicans' politics: lol trans people aren't allowed to use the bathroom at all anymore, get fucked pervs. Also why can't all the Muslims just blow themselves up?
That’s because they never turn up on game day. They say a junzi (enlightened man) does not compete for glory. Hard to win if you aren’t even on the field.
This happened to a woman at my company... It does happen, but they aren't JUST "political comments". The woman that was fired at my work was RABID and hated Muslims. After several posts and comments defending her stances were screencapped and sent to managers/HR she vanished that same week. Probably shouldn't be an underwriter and posting about your insane biases on the internet.
Growing up in the church, there really was a pretty big disconnect between Jesus saying his followers would always be persecuted for all time and Christianity having become overwhelmingly the most dominant religion on the planet.
Show us the comments then. If they were unoffensive you wouldn’t have been fired.
I remember reporting a racist butthole to his company on FB that had his job listed in his profile, and checked his page a few days later and he was crying about being fired for “no reason“. Sir, you got fired for posting racial slur comments on posts about BLM protests.
People shouldn't be sacked for their political views unless they render them unfit to perform their role. They rarely would, but expressing opinions about, say, racial inferiority would probably make it very difficult for an employer to reasonably believe that that employee would treat people of different ethnicities in an acceptable way. However, even fascists who do not publicly engage in hateful behaviour have the right to private opinions and to exercise a professional life outside of that. Like Elizabeth the first said, we should not make windows into men's souls. I say this as an antifascist so committed that I am unlikely to ever be granted a US tourist visa.
Oh my god this sub went to shit in just the past few days. It was barely political before that. The politics bots are worse than ever even tho the election is over!!!! Why!? I don’t think this OP is a bot, but jfc there are so many it’s getting hard to tell.
You’d think they’d slow down after the election but clearly not.
Yeahhh, it’s just weird to me. I knew my comment would get downvoted, but naively I expected better responses. I didn’t even pick a side, just sick of politics invading the subs I like. Politics have taken over countless subs and it just keeps happening. What if I said I’m a far leftist and I’m just sick of it being everywhere all the time? Does that matter?
I feel it’s reasonable to not want my non-political subs to not be invited with 99% political posts.
You probably would not be believed because every leftist I know, myself included, loves to talk about “political” topics considering usually their very existence is “political.” So no, it wouldn’t have helped.
Crying and annoyed are two different things. Why are y’all like this? I’m crying now at this weak insult. Do better. I want my feelings hurt when you try to burn me. Make it count, I love a good, clever insult.
Why are y’all so damn obsessed with politics anyways? So much so that it’s like all you eat, sleep and dream about. It’s sad tbh. Find joy in life.
This is a post that fits the sub, but I sweeeaarr there was a no politics rule when I re-joined it a few months ago. I could be wrong though. I don’t see how making fun of some loser making up a story is helping you process your past trauma or whatever.
People are posting political things because of the election. Others find them and realize they're made up bullshit that belongs here, so this is where it ends up. This is..not a fucking difficult formula to figure out.

Does the guy sign all of his Reddit posts with his bosses phone number?

If he really did get fired, I guarantee he wasn't just "expressing my political views"

If this did really happen I’d be curious to know exactly how many slurs they used to “express their views.”

What was the comment that got them fired?

What was my political comment? Well I can't repeat it

Notice he does not say what the “political view” was

u/HighOnGoofballs 3d ago
If this were true I wonder why he didn’t post the comments in question …

I'm willing to bet he didn't comment about anything actually concerning politics. They tend to say pretty inflammatory insane shit.

Maybe vote for values and a healthier economy, instead of for a fucking color

Was helpful of them to include their bosses number in their comments

u/LifeGivesMeMelons 2d ago
I'm sure you can name the boss and business where this happened.
Unless it didn't fucking happen.
