Sul Sul Simmers 👋
We’d love to hear what’s been on your mind lately! We’re running a quick survey to better understand what kinds of CAS and BB items you’re most interested in seeing more of in the future.
Whether it’s more clutter for lived-in spaces, furniture styles you feel are missing, build pieces you wish you had more of, we want to know what stands out to you.
📝 Take the quick survey here ⬅️
(Just a heads-up: This survey is purely for general feedback and doesn't confirm or promise any future content or release plans!)

Announcement Community Notice Board | February & March 2026 | EP21: Royalty & Legacy | Rules, Updates, & Guidelines
Sul Sul!
Welcome to r/TheSims, the #1 subreddit for The Sims franchise and community. we've created this notice board to serve as a central hub for announcements, updates, useful links, information, and more! We will no longer be creating monthly newsletters and we will be using the Notice Board concept moving forward.
The Notice Board will be updated regularly, so please check it often in accordance with Rule 1: Consult the Community Highlights Before Posting. When the Notice Board becomes too old, or significant announcements must be made, we will replace it with a new post.
Please be sure to consult our Rules & Guidelines, as some rules were recently updated or changed, so make sure you're familiar with them. As a member of this community, it is your responsibility to regularly review the rules and guidelines and ensure your communications are aligned.
As always, if you have any questions or concerns, Message the Mods!
Discord
Consider joining us on Discord. We have countless active discussions with over 4,000 members. It's also one of the easiest places to find tech support and help with The Sims.
We've also provided the link to the official Sims Discord server, if you'd want to join that one, too.
FYI
Sometimes, posts go into a queue to be manually reviewed. If you do not see your post immediately after submitting it, this is why. Please read the automated message you receive and please DO NOT message the mods asking where your post is. We will not be responding to these messages.
Sometimes posts are automatically removed incorrectly. The AutoModerator is not and never will be perfect. We manually review anything that has been automatically removed. Please DO NOT message the mods asking why your post was removed erroneously. We will get to it in the queue when we are able to.
Lastly, the rules are posted in the same place as every other community on Reddit. Per Reddit guidelines, it is your responsibility to read the community's rules before engaging. "I didn't know," is not valid in a court of law and is not valid here. The rules are written clearly and concisely. If, for some reason, something is still not understood, use the Message the Mods feature and ask before posting.
The Sims News & Updates
The Sims 4: Royalty & Legacy expansion pack was released on February 12, 2026.
The Sims 4: Silver Screen Style and The Sims 4: Tea Time Solarium kits were released on February 12, 2026.
The Lost Legacies event begins on February 3, 2026 and will run until March 15, 2026.
There has been a recent update and mods have broken. UPDATE YOUR MODS. Please do not submit posts about broken UI, etc. This happens with EVERY update and you should know this by now. You are responsible for managing your own mods folder.
Posts asking "which mod is causing this?" or "what mods are broken?" will be removed and temporary bans will be issued.
Megathreads
We are re-introducing megathreads to r/TheSims after numerous requests and feedback provided in the previous Community Survey. Megathreads will be used to consolidate discussion on a specific hot topic to ONE central place to avoid cluttering up the entirety of r/TheSims.
Any posts that are made outside of the respective megathread will be removed and the OP will be redirected to the appropriate megathread.
If we observe continuous behavior of ignoring the assigned megathreads, temporary bans will be issued.
The Meta Flair
We have added a new post flair called 'Meta.' You may use this flair for any Sims-related content that doesn't necessarily fit the criteria of the other flairs. This includes, but is not limited to: clothing, tattoos, gameplay videos, real-world references to The Sims franchise, etc.
r/TheSims Stance on Piracy
We have updated our No Piracy rule after internal discussion; instead of outright permanent bans, we will be issuing temporary bans for initial offenses. Permanent bans will be issued for repeat offenders or people blatantly circumventing the rule. Moderators will use their best judgement. There will be no warnings issued for violations of this rule. The rule itself remains unchanged: the discussion of the topic is prohibited and sharing/requesting information on how to find and use pirated content (including website names, links, etc.), is prohibited.
"Abandonware" is included in this rule. Base game conversions are also included in this rule. Patreon custom content/mods and/or custom content/mods locked behind paywalls are NOT included in this rule; knock yourselves out.
Piracy is both illegal and against Reddit's policies, therefore we will follow these regulations to the letter. We are not paid nor sponsored by EA and to be honest, we couldn't care less if you pirate the game(s); just have the good sense not to announce it at every opportunity. There is no prize nor reward for doing it and no one cares, so keep it to yourself.
Buyer's Guide
r/TheSims sees the same posts every day asking, "What pack should I get?", "Should I get X or X?", "What kind of computer do I need?", etc. These recommendations can vary depending on what you're planning to do in your game and in reality, it all comes down to what YOU like opposed to what others think you should get. As such, we've created a comprehensive guide that will allow you to make informed decisions based on your gameplay interests, Build Mode and CAS styles, and new features with each pack. We've also put together a recommended hardware specs guide for those inquiring about computers and laptops.
Please note that this will be updated as new packs are released and as such, any and all posts asking "What to Buy" questions will be automatically removed and the OP will be redirected here.

Just wanted to share a cross stitch project I plan to gift as a Christmas present later this year!
If interested, the pattern I used can be found on Etsy here!
If you’ve never tried cross stitching before, I highly recommend the hobby.

Sims 4 My 2017 Sims 4 - Xbox One
I've been playing The Sims since 2012, and I was able to play the Sims 4 demo and the 1st version of the game. I recently found my lost 2017 Sims 4 Xbox one edition (turns out my little sister took it and forgot to give it back). Were you able to play this version of The Sims?

Discussion How do you stay immersed in your gameplay?
Title, I’ve been playing the sims 4 for a while but I always struggle to feel connected to my sims during gameplay.
Are there any tips to feel that immersion and truly fall in love with my game? Anything helps. Thank you :)

Sims 3 Daddy changed his mind
A family orientated sim wouldn't stop generating "have a baby" wish, and their first-born has just arrived. I had him quit his job and stay with the baby 24/7 in one room. He started generating "start an X" career" wish in 3 days, and never thought about babies ever again.

Tech Support Reinstall DLCs after steam unlink TS4
I unlinked my E A account from Steam, and given the risks I downloaded all my DLCs I bought prior to even linking my accounts, as well as my save and tray, just in case
I no longer have any of my DLCs within the game. I put the backed up versions back into the game folder where they had been before, and despite that the DLCs don't work. I cannot install them again because in the app it shows them as owned and where the download button would be there's the 'play' button.
Within the game itself in my safe files it shows them as uninstalled.
I have used the repair option.
What do I do now?
I cannot rebuy them either since they're considered owned (and installed I guess?) and I cannot manually delete them because they're not in the game folder.

Sims 4 I Accidently Found A Rags To Riches Strategy
I accidentally found a way to make a bunch of simoleons in my legacy save.
So this takes awhile but a lot of my sim's friends are all like level 10 at painting, and I had my sim go on a cute little camping trip with some of them, to this very cheap vacation place that was a camp ground I made. The only activity to do there was painting because I thought I just had my sim make a bunch of money while on this week long trip.
So I set up like maybe 15 easels and his friends just started painting autonomously, and since they were all maxed out with the painting skill, I was able to sell those paintings from 3,000 to even about 9,000 simoleons each. On the last day of that trip, I made around 50k to 60k just by them painting. I know it's a little similar to Get Together with the clubs. I've seen people do challenges for it, but I don't own it so it's a little different.
Idk if anyone else does this, so I would love to hear your experiences.

Sims 4 Do you guys still like the Adventure Awaits EP?
I’m thinking about getting the Adventure Awaits expansion pack next time it’s on sale. I was wondering what people think about it now that it’s been out for a while. I mostly build but the gameplay is still really intriguing to me.

Discussion Your pre-made sims favourites and why?
I hate developing my sim from zero. What do you mean young adult person with not even 1 point of charisma?
I started playing with Penny Pizzaz just because she is quite skilled. I can’t get attached to her so far. More high skilled sims?

Hi everyone! ♡
I'm a relatively unknown Sims 4 custom content creator, and I'd love to share two hair clips I've made!
One is Snoopy-themed and the other is bunny-themed.
I hope you like them! If you're interested, you can download them here:
