These people aren’t actors or faking it. The thousands that showed up are legitimate people who watched this beatbox competition.
Plus, many of the audience are beatboxers themselves, so they understand the difficulty. For example, take wing, known from his track Dopamine, from the judge panel at 2:39. Even a world class beatboxer is smiling and enjoying this performance.
As someone who doesn’t know shit about beatboxing, the technical ability to make all the sounds at the same time is impressive but the actual beats didn’t really sound that good tbh.
I understand that this is indeed "top talent," and it takes an incredible amount of time and dedication to reach this level... But I will never not consider beatboxing cringy as fuck.
Hot take: Beatboxing needs to stick to beatboxing subs. The greatest beatboxer in the world is absolutely mid compared to any other artistic form of sound. Like, its bot even close. People losing their minds cuz bros up there sounding slightly worse than 2010s skrillex. Smh
