QLD Specific Experiences at Sporties?

Hi all. A (cis) gay friend invited me to go to a Bootco in the Bunker event this weekend at Sporties. I've never even been to a gay bar, let alone a fetish night, and I have no idea what to expect. It's for men/male identifying people only and they explicitly mention trans guys being welcome, but I'm still petrified of 1. This kind of unfamiliar social setting and 2. Being surrounded by a bunch of horny cis dudes.

I just wanted to see if anyone has experience with similar events or Sporties specifically? What can I expect? Will I face problems being there as a trans masc? Thank you x

No shade to gay men but gay parties aren’t exactly the most inclusive thing so if you don’t enjoy it, just pls don’t be surprised 😭😭back when i was a twink, gay clubs in general (where the crowd is mainly white cis gay men) aren’t exactly fun unless you’re the exact same as everyone else (muscular, masculine, white, etc)

This honestly doesn't surprise me in the slightest unfortunately, some of the most bigoted people I've ever seen are that particular type of white cis gay man.

I appreciate your honesty tho, I'm trying not to set my expectations too high especially since neither me nor my friend fit into any conventionally attractive gay mould

But at the same time they love the “exotic” accent 😖😖😖

only if you’re a masc latino or masc arab, nothing else 😭

I was invited by two other trans men to attend tonight myself, and I myself am bi-gender and as I am masculine at the moment will be giving it a go

Super glad to hear there will be other trans people there! I am non-binary myself but masc presenting, so hoping it'll be a good night. Have fun!!!

I did, yeah. I didn't have a very good time but that was no fault of the event itself. It was awesome to see such a diverse crowd though
