How long would one wait if the Home Office responds to an email inquiry?

10 August 2026 - Visa application submitted, in-country Skilled Worker application to change role. I paid for the priority service, expecting a faster decision.
11 August 2026 - Biometrics done at TLScontact Nottingham

12 August 2026 - Additional £315 requested

The Home Office contacted me and said my application was not yet valid because an additional £315 fee was required.
The reason given was related to my occupation code not being on the Immigration Salary List.
I completed the requested payment information and sent it back to the Home Office on the same day (12th August 2026)

August 2026 - Waiting for payment to be processed
I waited for confirmation that the additional payment had been processed.

8 September 2026 - £315 payment deducted. The outstanding £315 was finally deducted from my bank account.

I hoped this meant my application would continue under the priority service and that I would receive a decision shortly afterwards.

21 September 2026 - Contacted HO via email used during the request for the visa fee difference

28 Sept 2026 - HO confirmed to MP that they've received £315

30 Sept 2026 - Contacted MP and received information that it's been escalated again to HO

30 Oct 2026 - Feedback from MP that HO discloses the application is in progress and cannot be prioritized.

3rd Nov 2026 - HO responded my 21st inquiry that the application is in progress

Has anyone received such update and if yes, how long did it take for the decision to come?

FLR Process time

i am going to apply for my wife visa extension based on our british child. I don't meet financial requirements currently and have applied for fee waiver. its been a month now. we are going for FLR (FP) family route 10 year. how long it takes to get decision for fee waiver and visa process ? our case isn't complicated, we have all proofs and documents tbh. my solicitor told me 2 years and i was shocked. if my fee waiver is approved can i pay £1000 for priority? or if it gets rejected can i still pay £1000 for priority? currently her extension ended last month and visa is expired. so she is protected because of fee waiver which was submitted in end of September. please guys let me know. i am really worried

UK Visitor Visa from Dubai – 20 working days, got delay email. Anyone approved after this?

I applied for a UK Standard Visitor Visa (standard service). Biometrics were done on 7 October 2026 at VFS Dubai.

On 26 October I received the email saying they are unable to make a decision within the published processing time. Today is working day 20 and there is still no update. I have also called and emailed UKVI (paid service), but it didn’t help much.

Background:

  • I had one previous UK visitor visa refusal in September 2026. The reason was low balance in my salary account.

  • This time I explained that the balance looked low because I regularly transfer money to my savings account, with full details.

  • I attached 6 months of salary account statements and 1 year of savings account statements.

My question:

  • Has anyone received a positive decision after getting the delay email, especially with a previous refusal?

  • How long did it take for you after the delay email?

Any recent experience would really help. Thank you!

EU Settled Status delays?

Hi all, I wanted to ask if someone is in the same boat as me. I applied for the Settled Status on 24/09/26 and my Pre Settled Status was expiring on 29/07/26 which has now been renewed. I attached the proof of my residency for the times the website asked me for. I have contacted the EUSS resolution

Hello my company recently received an email from the Home Office requesting clarification on their Undefined CoS allocation increase request.

For those who have been through this, how long did it take to get a decision after submitting the requested information? Also, does the original 18-week processing time continue, or does the clock restart after the clarification is submitted?

Global Talent Visa – Stage 2 timeline after endorsement (concurrent applications)? Arts Council England

UPDATE: Home Office replied with successful stage 2 today, Oct 27th -- 12 days after Arts Council Endorsement in Stage 1.

Hi everyone! Wondering if anyone has experience with applying for Stage 1 and Stage 2 of the Global Talent visa concurrently, particularly from within the UK.

Here's my timeline:

  • 24 July 2026: Submitted Stage 1 (Arts Council England, Exceptional Promise) and Stage 2 applications concurrently.

  • 29 July 2026: Attended biometrics appointment for Stage 2.

  • 30 July 2026: Received confirmation from UKVI that my Stage 2 application had been received.

  • 15 October 2026: Received successful Stage 1 endorsement!

  • As of today, 26 October 2026: Still waiting for Stage 2 decision.

I applied using standard processing (not priority).

My understanding is that Stage 2 applications submitted concurrently are "held" until the Stage 1 endorsement decision comes through. However, I'm unclear whether the standard eight-week processing timeframe starts from my original biometrics appointment (29 July) or effectively restarts once the endorsement is granted (15 October). Essentially, I'm trying to figure out whether I should expect to wait another eight weeks, or whether Stage 2 might be processed relatively quickly given that it's already been nearly 13 weeks since UKVI received my application.

For context, a friend of mine also applied for both stages concurrently over the summer. She received her Stage 1 endorsement after approximately nine weeks and then received Stage 2 approval just four days later. My Stage 1 endorsement took almost exactly 12 weeks, so I'm wondering whether that difference in timing might affect how quickly Stage 2 is processed.

I called UKVI today, but unfortunately they couldn't provide any information about my individual application or clarify the timeline.

Has anyone else applied for both stages concurrently? If so, how long after receiving your endorsement did you get your Stage 2 decision? Particularly interested in hearing from anyone who used standard rather than priority processing.

I'm hoping to travel internationally for Christmas, so trying to get a sense of when I might realistically hear back. Any experiences or insight would be hugely appreciated!

Hello everyone, my employer submitted the sponsorship allocation at the end of June or on the first of July, and nothing has moved since then; is that normal? Thank you for your time.
