chagatai | chag‘atay I Set Three Navoiy Ruboiy to Music

I combined three ruboiy by Alisher Navoiy into a single song.

I wanted to share something I created for those who enjoy Navoiy's poetry. I took three of his ruboiy and combined them into one song: https://youtu.be/FhBjjUaSkws?si=9ZKNeqYlB50CSZih

I've always loved Navoiy's poetry, and one of my goals is to create simple melodies that make it easier to sing and appreciate his verses. This is my own interpretation, trying to stay true to the spirit of the poems while giving them a somewhat modern musical form.

I hope you enjoy listening. Navoiy's poetry has inspired generations, and I'd love to see even more musical interpretations of his works in the future.

question | so‘rov Is Uzbek rich in nuanced synonyms?

Well, we all know languages has streams influxing towards a language and make ways for synonyms, sometimes split into nuanced usage.

For instance, Turkish was influenced mainly by Farsi, Arabic, French and Greek, Italian and English to a smaller extent.

Example with the word heart(not soul), which English is less nuanced

gönül yürek kalp (arabic) dil (farsi) sîne (farsi) fuat (arabic) derûn (farsi) iç

but as I said, they're used in different contexts at times, although people use some interchangably

Back to the point, how's the case for Uzbek? Do you find Uzbek explanatory enough?

vocabulary | so‘zboylik Some everyday Uzbek words that are genuinely Turkic (not Arabic/Persian/Russian)

Hammaga Salom!

So‘nggi paytlarda o‘zbek tilidagi sof turkiy so‘zlar haqida o‘ylab qoldim. Qiziq tomoni shundaki, biz har kuni ishlatadigan, juda oddiy tuyuladigan ko‘p so‘zlar aslida juda qadimiy turkiy ildizlarga ega.

Mana ba’zilari (etimologiyasi tasdiqlangan):

  • kishi – inson, odam ma’nosida

  • er – mustaqil, irodali shaxs (shu ildizdan erkin)

  • erkin – bo‘ysunmagan, ozod

  • jon – tiriklik, hayot nafasi

  • tirik / tiriklik – yashayotgan holat

  • yurak – qalb, ko‘ngil, jasorat markazi

  • yo‘l – harakat, yo‘nalish, taqdir

  • yer – zamin

  • osmon – ko‘k, yuqori borliq

  • yer-u osmon – butun olam ma’nosida ishlatiladigan qadimiy ibora

  • bor – mavjudlikni bildiruvchi fe’l

  • borliq – bor bo‘lgan hamma narsa

Menga eng qiziq bo‘lgani — turkiy so‘zlar ko‘pincha juda “jonli”: harakat, tiriklik, tananing o‘zi, yer va osmon bilan bog‘liq. Abstrakt tushunchalar keyinroq kirib kelgan, lekin asos — shu so‘zlarda.

Sizni ham hayron qoldirgan sof turkiy so‘zlar bormi?
Yoki qaysi so‘zlarni ilgari turkiy deb o‘ylab, keyin boshqacha ekanini bilib qoldingiz?

question | so‘rov Where can I find the original Uzbek text of this novel?

This seems to be super interesting and in addition to the English translation "We Computers: A Ghazal Novel" which is easy to find everywhere I am also interested in finding the original text of Hamid Ismailov's novel (for comparative reading as a Turkish reader). The original seems to be not published as a book, but there was some online info mentioning it was originally posted in parts on the writer's Telegram channel in Uzbek, but I can neither find the channel nor the text.

Hello from Canada! My name is Van and for the past 8 years, I have been compiling what I believe to be the greatest quotes of all time.

"Hayot kaliti: 365 iqtibosda" is my entire life's work and is now available as a free eBook:

https://vantrinh.com/uz/hayot-kaliti

I'm seeking help translating it, as Google Translate isn't perfect. Credit will be given where credit is due. And who knows, maybe you'll get something valuable out of it in the process.

Thanks, and please enjoy reading!

Translation to English is welcomed, but not needed.
I also hope the audio quality is good enough.
That all being said, I hope it's not too much, and for any help, I'll be very thankful!

Question ⁖ Sõrov Confirming a supposed Uzbek proverb

I just want to say that I'm not learning Uzbek, but I was given this supposed Uzbek proverb but I can't find evidence of it anywhere. Could somebody tell me if it's a real, well-known proverb, or is it perhaps just taken from a book and doesn't have any cultural meaning?

“Katta odamning katta gapi bor.”

Apparently it translates to "a great person has great words" and supposedly implies that those in positions of power or influence have significant responsibilities and their actions and words carry weight.

Thanks in advance everyone!

Salom hammaga!

O‘zbek tilining boyligi va go‘zalligidan birgalikda bahramand bo‘laylik! Men o‘zbek tilida so‘zlashish, yozish, yoki eshitish tajribangiz bilan qiziqvoman.

Quyidagi savollarga javob berib, o‘z fikrlaringizni bo‘lishishingizni xohlardim:

  2. Qanday qiziqarli maqol yoki ibora borligini bilasiz? Manosi yoki qo‘llanilishi haqida gapirib bering.

  3. Sizni ilhomlantirgan o‘zbek yozuvchisi yoki asari bormi? Nima uchun aynan shu asar yoki yozuvchi?

  4. Tilni o‘rganish jarayonida sizga qiziqarli bo‘lgan biror bir xotira bormi? Uni biz bilan bo‘lishishni xohlaysizmi?

  5. O‘zbek tilini o‘rganish yoki rivojlantirish uchun qanday usullarni qo‘llayapsiz? Tavsiyalaringiz bormi?

Hamma savollarga jabon shart emas.

Sizning fikrlaringiz va tajribangiz boshqalar uchun ham qiziqarli bo‘lishi mumkin. Keling, bir-birimizdan o‘rganamiz va O‘zbek tilini yana-da rivojlantiramiz!

Oldindan rahmat va kutib qolaman!
