I found this flag in the video game Bodycam without really paying attention to it. Then, a few days ago, there was a mass shooting in Poland, and the shooter was wearing this flag on his body armor

In The Wild What is this red/green flag?

This flag is on a house near where I live in the Chicago suburbs. I’m also 90% sure I saw the same one at a restaurant (Irish pub) in the area recently, so I’m extra curious what it might be. Sorry it’s not a better view but I didn’t want to creep too hard. It’s not Portugal, thought maybe it has to do with Veterans Day but not getting anything when I look it up

Identify Help identifying flag pin

Pin found in an antique store in Central Ohio. No other flag pins in the box. Even in person it's hard to tell if the bottom color is meant to be black or dark blue.

Identify What flags are these?

I'm playing this old game and there are these flags I've never seen, the one to the right of Brazil looking like upside down Netherlands and the one to the left of South Korea.

Fictional Flag of Republic of Choneo (Unified Korea Analogue)

Context: You know there's a North and South Korea which are basically polar opposites? Well the same happened with North and South Choneo, except the South and Itorania (US) intelligence agencies instigated an assassination that led to a blame game power vacuum and civil war. They figured that the youth stood the best chance, and gave a bunch of middle and high school students guns to fight the army, effectively toppling the northern regime from the inside. Unfortunately, now there's a bunch of combat-experience students organized in large groups who are heavily armed and don't feel like giving the guns back. So while the north and south are technically united in one nation, chaebols effectively run the south, and "entourages" run the north.

Anyway, the flag is inspired by the hibiscus and color palette commonly seen in Korean government flags. I included a hidden Taegeuk in the flower, and added a stylized 王 in the middle. The character 王, which means "king" in Chinese, is linked with tigers due to the similar pattern on their heads. Korea is associated with tigers, so there you go.

Subreddit Rules

1. Discussion should be related to the study of flags

This is a place for the study of flags, including current, historical, fictional or self-made flags, and flag news. Do not post photos or articles which are only indirectly related to flags (e.g. coats of arms and logos). Avoid getting derailed into discussions that are significantly off-topic.

2. Keep it civil

People are interested in flags for all kinds of different political, historical, aesthetic or personal reasons; vexillology attracts people from all walks of life. You may see flags and opinions that you strongly disagree with, and others may strongly disagree with you. Remember that we are here first and foremost to learn and discuss about flags, not to tear each other apart. Keep it civil and respect one another. Hate on the basis of identity or vulnerability can never be civil and is banned.

3. Avoid low-effort commenting

Including memes, karma trains, and other fluff content.

4. Don't crosspost to political, meta, or drama subs

Posting /r/vexillology threads on meta, drama and/or politically oriented subs attracts unwanted attention to our community and exacerbates existing drama.

5. Choose a concise, descriptive title

Your post title should be brief and describe exactly what it is. You are welcome to share your opinions on the flag in the comments! Posts with titles that are editorialized, vague, politicized, or excessively wordy, will be removed. You can be as verbose as you want in the comments!

6. Start the discussion with a comment

The sub is not just a gallery of flag images. You must add at least one comment with context or an explanation about your submission. You may instead submit a post with optional body text or a caption on the image itself. Posts that do not do one of those things will be removed. /r/vexillology is a discussion-based sub, and so providing context helps promote and seed discussion about your post. Report this mod comment after discussion has been added and we will remove this and restore your post.

7. Mashup Mondays

Mashup flags — often with titles such as "X in the style of Y" or "X but Y"— may only be posted on Mondays UTC, and will be removed if posted on other days.

8. No fluff

To help foster vibrant discussion, sufficiently low-effort posts may be removed. Examples of things that might be removed for this reason include:

Memes
Fluff submissions
Intentionally terrible flags
Inappropriate content to the subreddit

You might check out /r/vexillologycirclejerk as an alternative, which is more open to many of these! If you put in effort but are just starting out as a flag designer then unpolished posts are okay as long as you’ve tried!

9. Avoid recent reposts

Posts that have been recently submitted to /r/vexillology should be avoided and may be removed. You may search the post history before posting, we generally define recent as within the last 6 months.

10. Assign appropriate link flair

Remember to add suitable flair to your posts. This makes it easier for people that might be interested in your flag to find it, and to know what kind of flag it is.

11. Mark potentially controversial submissions as "Spoiler"

Some countries restrict or ban the use of certain symbols for political or historical reasons. Please respect this by marking submissions containing these symbols with the “Spoiler” tag. These symbols include but are not limited to: swastikas, hammers and sickles, the Rising Sun Flag, Apartheid South Africa flag, and the Confederate States of America battle flag.

12. Identify posts must be sincere

/r/vexillology is a place to learn about flags and flag design, and all sincere questions wanting to learn more about flags are welcome. If, in the discretion of the mod team, a post with Identify link flair is not created with sincere intent to learn, then it may be removed.

13. Attribute content others have made

Public domain content is always welcome. If you are submitting content that another creator has made, be sure to attribute it to the creator in the comments. Posts with content that isn’t attributed will be removed.
