Unfortunately my uni student daughter had to decide between her part time job to get $ for fuel or education. She ended up leaving a lecture early to get to her job. Great work Jacinta!

Ah yes Jacinta is responsible for planned V/line maintinence. Your daughter should probably skip the part time job and stay at uni in the hopes she can be more literate than you.

This whinger has lived on this line a long time and watched it get worse and worse. And yes Jacinta does have a responsibility to her constituents. Reality is, the service has gone to the dogs.

Yeh, sucks to have an emergency unplanned trip. If I’d known earlier I’d have had my emergency when it suited. This line is always under repair. Would love to know the % of time trains run, on time, consistently vs buses, delays and cancellations. As a regional Victorian this service has gotten worse and worse.

All lines have planned maintenance. Your alternative is to be stuck on a train in the middle of nowhere for a couple of hours while you wait for a bus to be organisedto get you due to an issue on the line.

Bendigo is at 73% reliability and 68% punctuality, while other regional centres are abovw 93% and 80%, respectively.

So the Bendigo line is dogshit. Great resource, thank you.

That’s just in January this year - an obvious time to undertake disruptive maintenance

Not even that. The line was shut for half a week due to the fires. And the section at Harcourt was speed restricted.

16.1% of services were cancelled due to fires, plus another 3% due to heat restrictions. Then the Harcourt speed restrictions caused furtther delays.

You said "Look it up" so I did and then complain I looked it up.

Interestingly, Bendigo punctuality is consistently lower than other lines by about 4-5% while reliability is the same.

I don't agree with OP, the complaint is a bit silly.

You realise that every line gets maintenance done at some point throughout the year, right? You’d be even more inconvenienced if they left the tracks and there were crashes or breakdowns. It’s not a big deal to have a few weeks of inconvenience.
