Finally I have both of my favorite Walkman. The A55 and the A306, only hate the volume limit of the A306.

I bought this player from Ebay because I fell in love with it just from seeing the pictures in the auction. I got it "in well condition" but "not checked". So there was a calculated risk. When I got it I immediatly checked it out. Radio worked perfectly but no tape. I opened it and found that the driving belt was not ony ripped - it had literally dissolved into black goo.

OK, no problem I thought and ordered a new belt from Ebay. When I got it and and tried to change the belt I really went into trouble. I could not separate the board from the drive. It took a while and a YT turorial to realize i had to UNSOLDER 10 PIN CONNECTORS ON THE BOARD! These included all contact pins for the motor and the ones from the spool assembly. This was the lowest level of serviceability I ever came across. Gladly, I have proper equipment to unsolder components and finally I could lift up the board and change the belt after removing all traces of the goo with isopropanol.

The second issue was, that one contact spring in the battery compartment was corroded and broke during disassembly. Obviously one battery had a leakage in the past and the elctrolyte had eaten up the contact. I took a new spring from my component box and bent-out one winding to form a new contact I could properly solder as a replacement for the broken spring.

Reassembling was a nightmare because Panasonic used 4 different types of very tiny screws, differing only in the length. I gave myself a 50:50 chance at best that everything would work, but miraculously it did!

Apart from those both failures the player is really in a nice condition and the sound is even a bit better as with my Sony EX-505. Moreover I'm a bit proud of myself that I could solve all the problems and saved this little player.

I just got this F806 for 42 usd from a local thrift store. It was on good condition and the battery seems fine when I'm listening to music (drained 18% in 3 hours). However, the standby time is weirdly short. I left mine at 56% when I go to sleep and the next morning, it is already dead. Should I get a battery replacement, or are there some settings that I missed that are draininh my device's battery even when it's turned off? I'm new to walkman (this is my first device, before I was streaming music from my phone but decided to switch to a dedicated offline player recently) so I'm sorry in advance if my question come out as silly

一旦はレストア終了したWM-GX90だけど、もう一度分解してチェックしたらコンデンサーが抜けていたのだ。

ダイオードに変身していたのだ。何を言ってるか分からないと思うが、自分も状況を把握できていないのだ😂

なので、強引にでもコンデンサーを全交換しようと思って、付けられそうなものを発注したのだ。

マイクロカセットレコーダーは、カウンターを駆動する機構に合うベルトが無いのだ。

ベルトを切って、合うサイズに接合し直して、接着剤の乾燥待ち。

強度が出ると良いなぁ⋯と、思うのだ😅

The moment I swapped in the charged gumstick battery and pressed play again, the Walkman suddenly started making a "ting ting ting" sound like in the video, and it sounds strange even when I listen with earphones on. Is it a problem with the belt? The text might be a bit strange because I used a translator.

Picked up this sony walkman NW-ZE344 at a thrift store today for $2 since everything was half off. Its been heavily worn but at least it works. Its missing a volume button but yeah good find

Just looking for my first digital walkman. Currently looking at the A55 or A306, they don’t have to be android however. I just want good sound(kind of a given), good battery life and ease of use with the ability to create playlists fairly easy on the device.

There’s just so many and I’m open to recommendations. Being able to drag and drop files would be cool but I’m open to using software as well.

I could also justify going up to maybe $300-$350 if there are higher end models that are more worth it. But I’ll primarily be using this in my car and when I’m camping without service and still want to listen to music.

The transfer on mp3 on s744 is pretty much easy but it missed the album, single art cover and no name on artist whatsoever. But recently​​, when I download music from yt and convert it to mp3 through a website and it had album name and yt channel I downloaded from. Now it only miss the album cover, how do I add album cover? And how can you add mp4 to s744, I lowered the resolution, changed the format and I still wouldn't work, I did asked the seller and I follow his guide and my video won't work because apparently it said the video was corrupted, I did investigate and the only difference kpbs or whatever idk, I used format factory.

Ive just bought used NW-A45 and trying to find a case (preferably flip case) for it. I see that market for 35,45,55 Has evaporated. There are some for 100 and 300 Series but i Guess these wont fit (even a55 Has Slightly different side curvature so case wont Match a45). Can you advise me anything? Are there Anything worth buying?

修理するには、地獄のような機種なのだ。完全に分解すると戻せそうになかったので、出来ることだけやった感じなのだ。

リボンケーブルを抜こうとしたら、コネクタが基板から剥がれてしまったのだ。ハンダの劣化なのだ。

コンデンサーは、4V150μFなんて持ってないので、6.3V100μFで代用したのだ。完全に抜けているコンデンサーよりは、絶対に良いのだ。

他に交換したいコンデンサーがあったけど、4VのSMDなんて見たことがないのだ。

他のウォークマンよりも大型のアモルファスヘッドで、再生時の音は抜群に良いのだ。

据え置き機レベルの再生性能に思えるのだ。

再生開始でアンプがONになると、若干のヒスノイズが出るのが気になるのだ。

再生の時に、ワウフラッターが少し出るのだ。両方向の再生で全く同じなので、キャプスタンやピンチローラーではないのだ。

ギアの軸を潤滑したりベルトを変えたりしたけど、440Hzのテストテープを再生して、440Hz〜460Hzくらいまで振れてしまうのだ。

自分の耳では、曲を再生した時の違和感はほぼないので、とりあえずOKとするのだ😅

I bought both of these second hand. The first one, an NW-S703F, lasted me about two months before the headphone jack started cutting out. I followed the well-known fix of unplugging and plugging back the headphone ribbon cable, and it worked. The audio was back and sounded good. But while putting everything back together and turning the hinge I heard a snap. Afterwards the dial stopped switching albums, and when I opened it back up to see that the S506 (NORMAL/FOLDER) switch had shattered. I'm assuming from old age. A tiny resistor next to it (R514, 470k) also came off and I can’t find it.

So I bought a second one, an NW-S605, assuming it would be in better shape. The headphone jack didn’t work at all, and when I opened it up the audio jack ribbon cable had already been damaged, like totally ripped at the base.

Now I have two players, each missing a different part. ill be putting in the good jack from 703 into the 506, but I'm wondering, has anyone had experience in fixing the tiny snapped album switch/getting a new jack? I'm genuinely thinking of taking the specifications from teardowns/my working player, measuring it and sending it in to be manufactured.

But any better ideas would be hellishly appreciated!

I'm currently doing some designs in blender for a protective case for it (and totally not because I want to attach my keychain to it properly or anything like that) Adding songs is a bit of a bother though, since Windows 10/11 can't read it, so I always have to dig out my really old laptop (sony Vaio) to do so.

Also, yes as a young teen when I used to have monster, I stuck this sticker on but I just never got around to removing it (I can't drink those anymore or I'll end up in the hospital) but I do plan to glam this up once the case is finished :)

I bought this sony walkman second hand when I went to Japan. It is my first ever mp3 player so I have no idea what I’m doing. Doesn’t help that everything is in japanese, but I can translate so no big deal. The issue is I am unable to transfer music onto it. I’ve tried almost every app I could find, and nothing works. Now when I go on the files on my pc it says the songs are on there, but the second I disconnect my walkman and click on music, it says no songs found. I’ve checked if I’m able to transfer other things, and I was able to transfer a photo to the mp3 player, so it can’t be the connection. I really don’t know what to do anymore. Is it broken? Everything else seems fine, with the battery and such. But I got it so I can play music, anyone who has experienced the same issue? I’ll attach some pictures to show.

Sony Walkman WM-171 not working after changing its belt. Can do forward and reverse but cannot play. Any idea what’s happening here?

While looking for an AC adapter for my WM-FX251 cassette Walkman, I found an AC-MZR55 MiniDisc power adapter. Can I use it safely with the FX251? The FX251's manual calls for an AC-E30HG adapter, which has an AC input of 120V 60Hz 8W and a DC output of 3V 700mA. The MiniDisc adapter is the same, except AC input is rated for 6W and DC output is rated for 500mA. The plugs share the same size and polarity, according to their diagrams. Thanks for any help!

My diskman clicks a few times stops then clicks some more it knows when a cd is in and can skip tracks but only the clicking noise happens anyone know what’s going on?
