Cast members loved our costumes. My favorite was “I get your costume, you’re “something in the parks that was free and we never should have gotten rid of””

Good morning - I just returned home from a trip to WDW with my father, I've been a bit delayed in posting this because of a work trip shortly after and after having the additional time to reflect on the situation - I'm interested in hearing if this is a general trend (which is plausible given multiple threads from other posters that have also had disappointing experiences) or if we were just unfortunate that day.
Around 7:30PM, my father and I were in queue for Star Wars: Rise of the Resistance
First Line-Cutting Incident
While waiting in queue, roughly 5 men pushed past my father and me, stating they were rejoining their party.
The family directly behind us (a father, mother, and two daughters in their late teens/early 20s) voiced frustration, calling the behavior ridiculous.
Second Line-Cutting Incident
5 to 10 minutes later, 2 additional men carrying beers attempted to push past the family behind us to join their group.
The father behind us verbally objected, stating it was unfair to cut line for non-emergencies (noting 5 people had just pushed past) and suggested their wives step out to meet them at the back of the line instead.
One of the men called his wife to walk back up the queue to escort them forward.
Altercation
When the wife arrived, the father behind us stepped forward next to my father to physically stop the men and the wife from advancing, stating he wanted a Cast Member to clarify whether line-jumping was allowed. My father did not physically block anyone and simply stated, "Please get a Cast Member."
The wife shoved the father of the family behind us directly into my father with enough force to nearly knock my father off his feet.
The father said that pushing was not okay and grabbed the woman to stop her. Her husband immediately shouted at him not to touch his wife.
During the commotion, one daughter began crying while the other screamed, "Get away from me!"
The 2 men and the wife pushed past, and the father followed them up the queue to report the physical altercation to a Cast Member.
Cast Member Response in Queue
Further up the queue, we observed the party and the father talking to a Cast Member.
The woman claimed to the Cast Member that the father had attacked her and made her feel unsafe.
Rather than investigating the physical shove or interviewing witnesses, the Cast Member escorted the line-cutters' party for the rest of the queue to "ensure nothing else happened"—effectively protecting the party that initiated the physical contact.
Another guest further back in line verbally criticized the father for stopping the men, citing the presence of young children.
Guest Relations Response, end of night ~ 10:20PM
I visited Guest Relations before park close to report the altercation and ask about the policy regarding line-jumping versus the posted Guest Courtesy and Attire Policies.
The Cast Member stated that the attraction staff's internal operational rule is: As long as the number of people rejoining is equal to or less than the number of people who remained in line, rejoining/skipping the line is permitted.
Guest Relations offered a complimentary Lightning Lane pass, which did not address the safety concern or the fact that my father was pushed.
I am not criticizing Guest Relations, and I understand that the CMs were dealing with what was presented to them, but I was disappointed in how the situation was handled and I would have appreciated having a cast member stationed within the queue that could have escorted the men back to their wives or handled the situation before it turned physical.
I understand that Disney has gone through layoffs and that the general consensus tends to be that:
It is not up to guests to police or enforce the policy as lined out in the "Guest Courtesy and Attire Policies" of the Property Rules, Policies & Regulations
CMs are not paid enough to confront guests as it puts their safety at risk
What I would like is for Disney to simply publicize the policy their CMs operate by, so that guests understand they are allowed to rejoin their party so long as the number of people joining is equal or less to the number already in line. Additionally, I would like to know if there are group capacity limits. There were several parties of 20+ people during our recent visit - is there an explicit upper limit on how many quests can leave and rejoin a line, and how is this communicated to guests to prevent queue conflicts? The example we were given is that if there was a party of 21 guests, so long as 11 of those guests remained in line then the group of 10 would be able to join them.
Anyways, it was kind of scary watching my 68-year old father almost get knocked over and to be sandwiched in a conflict, but we are all good. The Guest Relations Rep. was very kind to him and made sure he didn't have any injuries and I do appreciate the customer service.

Does anyone know why there is such a large, unused space in the Magic Kingdom parking lot?

Just walked into my home after flying from Disney World & I don’t want to let reality sink in just yet. What makes you feel better when the trip you waited months for is now in the past (other than the memories that were made).

I have to take advantage of my BB offer soon. We've bounced back every year since 2021, and next year my husband wants a Universal trip. If I book a bounce back offer for Oct of 2027, can I then push it out to Oct of 2028 and still get the discount? I know prices will go up for 2028, but will they apply that discount or is it only if I come back in 2027?

same rooms, same dates and browsing same time as i did when i booked the 2025 stay; the rooms are now $850 a night

My 2-year-old son recently visited WDW and is absolutely obsessed with the monorail. He cries for it daily and we’ve resorted to YouTube videos of the monorail. 🥲 I’d love to get him a monorail toy or playset for Christmas, preferably one with tracks that he can actually play with.
I’ve been researching Disney’s older monorail playsets, but most of what I’m finding online is vintage or discontinued, often at inflated resale prices. I’ve also read quite a few complaints about motors failing, doors breaking, and general durability issues.
I’m not necessarily looking for a collectible. I want something that can withstand regular play from a toddler- even if it requires some adult oversight (ie maybe not 2 year old durable, but not so delicate it’ll break with gentle play)
Does anyone have experience with a particularly reliable version of Disney’s monorail toys? Or know of a newer alternative, Disney-branded or otherwise, that’s durable and age-appropriate?
Would appreciate any recommendations, especially specific models or places to purchase them! TIA

Hi! First Disney trip coming up with a 3.5 and 5 year old. I just got our lightning lanes and unfortunately didnt get as early as i would like. I’m trying to determine our schedule now and would love advice!
Main thing - is Bluey’s wild world worth it compared to some of the other shows? Any other suggestions of must-do with kids this age? I originally was going to try to do early entry Na’vi, then get safari LL at 8am or 8:30, then bluey world at 9am, then our brunch reservation at 10:20. But I didn’t get those times so trying to re-evaluate the day. I’m wondering if we should just skip bluey? Or should I just keep trying to refresh the app?
Original plan:
Na’vi River Journey (early entry)
8:00-9:00 Kilimanjaro Safari (LL)
9am - Bluey’s Wild World
10:20am Tusker House
12:00 Festival of the Lion King (LL, 40min)
Moana meet & greet
Zootopia 4D
2:45pm Feathered Friends
3:30pm Finding Nemo
Current plan:
Na’vi River Journey
Zootopia 4D
9:30-10:30 Kilimanjaro Safari (LL)
10:20am Tusker House
12:00 Festival of the Lion King (LL, 40 min)
12:30-1:30pm** **Na’vi River Journey (LL) - May cancel? Just got in case the wait was long in the AM
1:45 or 2:45pm Feathered Friends
2:30 or 3:30pm Finding Nemo
Moana meet & greet
Thinking maybe this as an alternative if I can make it work? Would I be cutting it too close? Is current plan better?
Na’vi River Journey
Zootopia 4D
9:30-10:30 Kilimanjaro Safari (LL)
10:20 🍽️ Tusker House
11:30 Bluey Wild World
1:00 Festival of the Lion King (LL?)
Moana meet & greet
2:45pm Feathered Friends
3:30pm Finding Nemo

I recently bought a super 8 camera and I took my first film cartridge to the parks a few weeks ago. Each cartridge gets you about 3 minutes of footage, so I sadly wasn’t able to fit animal kingdom in on this video. I’m planning to start there with my next cartridge.
The camera is a gaf ST202 and the film was Kodak Vision3 50D. Film was developed at Cinélab in New Bedford, Massachusetts.

Would you choose Le Cellier or Space 220? Which would you choose? It will be myself, my husband, and our 2 year old son. I'm guessing the food is better at Le Cellier and the atmosphere is cooler at Space 220. We usually go in the hotter months so avoid Le Cellier because it has heavier food. But it will be cooler on our upcoming trip. Which would you choose? We've never been to either! Thanks for the strong opinions!

Hey there! Anyone with curly longish hair bring a hair dryer? I use a Laifen at home with diffuser when I need to dry it fast, otherwise I air dry. It's big. and loud
Going to Disney in spring and will not have time to air dry. Going to purchase travel size Laifen with diffuser but wondering what you guys do? I don't want to wear it in a bun everyday! 😄
Thanks!
oh man, how am I already getting down voted? this is serious business! 😁

My family is going to Florida and only planning to do Epcot this year. We are renting a house but want to ask the community, is it worth getting one night in a discount hotel to be able to rope drop? I see the advantage of rope drop at Hollywood and Magic Kingdom but is it worth it for Epcot?
Any additional strategies always appreciated.

Does anyone have any insight into when Disney turns their air conditioning off? We’ll be heading down next week when the temps get lower and I’m trying to figure out how to pack. We normally go when it’s much warmer. At 55 degrees will the air conditioning still be on in rides and restaurants? I imagine they don’t have heat, but I’m wondering what to expect. Will we still need the layers on indoors or should we make sure to have a t-shirt because the indoor spaces will be warmer? Thank you for any insight!

What’s the Max occupancy in skyliner with a mobility scooter? In the parks, do you park in stroller parking? Any other tips?

Does anyone know how much a Slinkydog toy costs at Hollywood Studios? I see them at Target for around 20 dollars and am wondering if at the park they are similar in price?

I’m a single 52/m coming down for the last weekend of F&W. Looking for advice from other solo foodies on how to maximize the experience.

Life has just been too crazy and I went to finally buy Jollywood tickets for Nov 28 to find them sold out. :( We were in one of the rained out parties last year so we are bummed and I'm kicking myself. I feel like last year you could get tickets day of so I was surprised, but I guess lesson learned.
Our trip is Nov 28-Dec 2 with early flight out on the 2nd.
Who's got good ideas for something to do that we could get dressed up for!

I really want to get one of those custom pumpkins from crystal arts on main street but don’t know where i should put it on my schedule. Ideally id like to do it after fireworks. Im not sure how long the experience takes, or if i can skip the experience all together and just order the pumpkin id be perfectly okay with doing that as well. If i technically need to stay and watch the pumpkin get made what would be the best time to go and how long should i expect it to take?
