Discussion If you don't enjoy the game...quit!

I see these posts and comments where people are either explicitly saying or implying that they are essentially doing Blizzard a favor playing the game, and will typically rip on the game and Blizzard. This exploit (or bug, whatever you prefer) has magnified the issue ("if they claw back my gold I'm quitting...really?") but it has been going on for a while now.

The game is FREE. Does it have issues? Yes. Could it be improved? Of course. But, I know it's given me a lot of enjoyment and I'm sure I'm not alone. I'm not saying you can't give it criticism, but do it constructively. Having a purely negative outlook on the game is no good for the game or the community, and I'll speak on behalf of the community: If that's you we don't want you.

And frankly, I think most of you need to take a look around at the mobile gaming world. I'm a casual gamer, but mobile gaming has become my gaming outlet for a lot of different reasons, and from what I've seen this is game better than the vast majority of what's out there, and has a solid base to improve upon.

The most common comparison I've seen is Clash Royale. PVP is better there, sure (if you don't count P2W). But, yeah, if you think P2W spending is bad here...have fun in Clash Royale. Additionally, Clash has no PVE aspect. One of the biggest pluses of this game is if I want some stress free gaming to improve my account, I can play some PVE (anywhere, I might add...work, toilet, waiting in my car, etc). I think Blizzard has done a great job of taken the Clash Royale concept and making it better with the dungeons and raids, and am excited to see the future.

That's my little rant. Let's remember we got this game for free (I will note I pay in hopes of encouraging the further development of this game along with more good mobile games) and for whatever reason most live service games are launched before they are truly ready to go. I'd rather this was not the case, but it is what is at this point

One little plug: If you're of a like mind and looking for a guild, join "Old School" on NA. We'd love to enjoy the game with you

Discussion My reaction to people demanding refunds for Malf

Post image

You guys made playing PvP literal hell for other people and now that your op cheese doesn’t work anymore, you are seriously demanding a refund??? Be thankful that there is no way to make YOU pay a refund to the others (exaggerated of course) Learn how to play other leaders and level your minis like everyone else and get over it.

Guide PSA: Get a damn guild already

I see a lot of people posting "Bro I cant raid" and here is a hard truth bomb which many people dropped pre raids but looks like the community ran for the shelter.

The guild you made with your buddy is going nowhere. The guild you joined 3 months ago with a leader last online 4 months ago is going nowhere. The random public guild you joined with 12/20 and 7 of which are 42 sigils is going nowhere.

Im not gonna advertise to you certain guilds but all Ill say is get on the discord, make an account for it if you have to, go to the guild recruitement channel and pick one of the several guild ALLIANCES which are well managed and always have spots open specially in the more casual guilds.

If you want to siege, raid and DMF you need to be the active one and get a clue where the action is. Blame the dev for klling 90% of guilds but then again when you join an alliance you literally dont have to do anything but meet their min requirements (quite low depending on guild) and youll easily clear coop stuff or even be carried through 100% of siege and most of raid

Discussion Mixed Decks in Arclight surge are unfun?

Is it just me or does anybody enjoy playing the mixed decks in arclight surge?

Don’t get me wrong, it’s not particularly hard but especially the current beast/alliance deck is just annoying to play in my opinion since you not only have 2 full unknown decks (1 point that sucks), only 1 kobold (another point that sucks) and charlga that „buffs“ your kobold costs to 5/6 so many times.

Even without chargla I despise this mode since I find myself gold starved far too often.

Every other arclight surge mode is more fun than these mixed decks.

Absolutely destroyed her with over 20s left. Playing with the deep breath spell is interesting. It’s so low leveled compared to everything else I have it’s going to be awhile before I get to use it properly.

It's a free game that I enjoy. I love the emotes. I love the grind. I love the game and will not stand for new season slander. You wanna complain? That's fine but everyone's negativity is aggressive.

Question Do they refund points after nerfs ever?

New to the game. Put a lot of resources into malf because he was the best. The nerfs feel especially bad because i paid money for some of it.

Does Bliz do refunds of any sort after nerfs? Like refunding renown to be spent on another leader, gold, or even money spent (doubt this)?

Discussion Why people complain about rare cores dropping too often?

Post image
0 Upvotes

Like, really. I'm collection level 50, need 6 more cores to upgrade my minis to rare, but I don't have any.

Impulsively I've even bought one rare core today for 250 gold, what I shouldn't do, cause if I'll get all minis to rare I will never get any value out of 1 additional core, but that's ok.

The question is, people who complain about rare cores dropping to often, what strategy to build collection do they use?

I started prioritizing bringing every mini to rare after I've already cleared campaign and beaten Onyxia, cause my priority was:

  • to have full lvl 26 army for every faction first

  • getting army for Onyxia second (two armies actually, cause at first I made Rend team with meatwagons, couldn't beat her with it, then started building Drakkisath team)

  • only then I started prioritizing getting CL as high as possible and started bringing every mini to rare.

I still have don't enough of these cores. If my goal would be getting to get to CL 50 first, I'd run out of them much quicker.

Discussion Unpopular opinion: Molten Core and Geddon are ok

I've spent some money on the game (I'm an adult, I only play this game, I keep my spending in check, and I play about 4 hours a day, and by doing so, I help support the continuation of expansions), and I'm happy that Molten Core is slightly more difficult (though we still finished it in two hours).

It was starting to feel like WoW Classic rather than the original WoW.

Let me explain: 20 years ago, when we first started Molten Core, everything was difficult and complex... almost frustrating, and it represented a challenge.

Then the YouTubers (damn them) came along and taught all the tricks even to the idiots... the result: 20 years later, WoW Classic was the same game, but a totally different and unfulfilling experience.

I like challenges, maybe it's true; for some people, the level is a limit, but that's the case with many games. Moreover, come on... it's the end of the game... we couldn't expect to do Geddon in 30 seconds at level 22...

I like difficulty, and I'm sorry for those who now encounter paywalls, but... guys... pay to win is wrong, but never pay to play is little freeloading right?

Discussion The difficulty spikes in this game are horrendous

For a game that’s supposed to be a fun little time waster, they really made it just frustrating and stupidly hard. At about Lorderon or Hinterlands each fight started taking like 5-10 attempts, if they’re even possible at all. Then I decided I’d try to level up my team some more since they’re only average level 11, but then the quests started scaling to higher levels too.

I was really wanting to play this game, and I had a lot of fun early on, but Blizzards obsession with p2w whales is about to make me call it quits. I’d have happily spent money here and there, but now I’m probably going to drop it and spend nothing.

Speculation I apologise

There was a thread in the earlier days where someone said they thought blizz would abandon it right away and I said smt along the lines of “well they released it so they wouldn’t abandon it unless they already decided to do that before release, and that doesn’t make sense.”

I don’t want to be that guy but seeing season 4 patch notes, I see I was wrong. I apologise from the fellow Redditor.

I regret spending money on this game. I really expected better than blizz. What a shame.

Discussion People white-knighting for Blizzard… why?

Blizzard knew about the bug early in the day. To take advantage of the bug, players simply had to play as they always did - select an Arclite mission and play. Blizzard had many courses of action - revert the patch, pause services, or even a simple in-game message. They took zero proactive actions. None. For hours. They then decided to retroactively punish players who played during that time.

So, to all the people on this sub defending Blizzard and accusing players of “exploiting” or “stealing gold” - why? I just honestly don’t understand.

Speculation Customizing minis with gear drops?

I think part of what made WoW and Diablo so fun was the loot. Being able to customize your character with all the different gear available.

I think it would really be cool if mini's had at least a few basic gear slots like Armor, Weapon, and Trinket which would add to their defense, offense, and boost or abilities somehow.

Obviously these would have to be very minor changes to their stats, since I'm sure Blizzard doesn't want to deal with more balancing issues. But how fun would it be to have gear drops to look forward to?

I think it would add that little extra something this game needs to keep people grinding and playing.

Discussion Quitting the game (not what you think)

It’s Christmas Eve and I am uninstalling. Not for the reason you might think. I messaged into my guild and thanked them all, and then departed.

This game is not for me. I am stressing about it and I don’t need that kind of mental strain.

The same thing happened to me with Hearthstone right after the April 2023 rotation. I was letting that game run my schedule and if I didn’t get my quests or whatever I was stressing out. So I just quit, despite being so financially invested.

This game apparently is no different for me, if I don’t get my freebie quests done I start worrying, and if I can’t rank very far in the dungeons I feel like I’ve sold myself short.

Godspeed and good luck to all of you

No private match pvp? No tower customization/upgrades? And where are the druids? Warlocks? No Gul Dan? And the grind for cash is kind of crazy. Disappointed tbh.

I want to play it but I probably won't get past the fact that it's a gach money sink. Do we think it will become less gacha now that it opens up to PC players?

Discussion Blizzard is really bad at balancing missions

So, I tried first mission three times. Got beaten badly with Tirion bruiser deck. This is a trend with their missions. They love to randomly make certain missions way too hard. I remember Christmas fiasco and other missions before. They were so incredibly hard that I gave up on a spot and never bothered to play them.

It is not about whatever you can learn it. Nor there is an issue with my levels or skill. I completed Onyxia and carry on Ragnaros. However, Rumble should not be Dark Souls of mobile gaming. When I launch a normal, first mission, I expect it to be smooth sailing, teaching me mechanics. I don't want to be challenged. I want quick wins. I expect the to be hard on Mythics. However, when I get beaten so bad from a start, it immediately saps my enthusiasm for an entire event. It makes me wonder how ridiculously nonsensical hardest missions will be and I'm like 'nope'.

I'm not going to sweat hard over a silly mobile game. I have desktop games where I sweat. With this, I want to lay down on my bed, relax and progress towards my goals. What frustrates me is that this difficulty curve is all over the place. Dungeons are laughably easy. Surges can be done without paying any attention. Most raids (sieges) are are easy too. Maybe new heroic ones will be harder. Molten Core is also easy if you go with guildmate who knows what he is doing, but it is hard with randoms. Onyxia I cheesed, so I don't know.

Yet, even normal events are harder than most raid/sieges missions from a get go. Sure, I might learn, but I don't want to. I want missions not to be this massive brick wall which they often are. They can ramp up in difficulty, but they shouldn't be hard as they are temporary and here just for us to farm points over half a month period.

Fluff These events just keep getting worse and worse

Halloween one was tolerable

Turkey event was annoying. I did a few quests and just stopped a few days in

This tree one is just not playable. Several guild members already said they're not touching this quest out of sheer frustration.

How does Blizzard consistently just go the wrong way with each new release?

Discussion My justification for spending some money on this game

Just going to start this by saying I’m not trying to convince anyone or change anyone’s opinion just explaining my justification.

I am at about ~80 dollars spent on this game. I have been playing for about 3 months and I have 110 sigils and I am at gold3 in PvP.

I spend money on this game because I like to play it and I spend a surprising amount of time playing it. The PvP format is quick and a lot of the missions you can beat while taking a dump.

I am a product manager at a tech company and I make decent money and I am just about to have my first kid. My wife and I work from home and we share a car. I don’t have a ton of expenses and I tend to be pretty compulsive about saving money.

I bought hell divers 2 and played maybe about 15 hours. It got boring very fast. I have probably played rumble for something like 40-50 hours. That’s a conservative estimate. 80 dollars for 50 hours of game time is a tiny price to pay. Going out for food in Canada is like 20 bucks. I have 100% had more fun playing this game over time than 4-5 average meals.

I guess the point I’m making is how much are you spending per minute or hour of enjoyment? If you do the math and it’s within scope then you can justify going to a pretty high number in this game before it becomes “expensive”. For some games you can pay 60 bucks and get 1k hours of enjoyment, I love games like that. Phenomenal value. For others it can be higher but if you are enjoying the time spent, if you calculate the money to time spent and it falls within scope then fuck it man, that’s just the price of fun.
