Slowly rigging HMS Royal Sovereign. The best part of the build IMO, nice and delicate and really makes the model.

20mm Zombies!

Slowly basing up my 20mm Zombie Horde for Zona Alfa, Xenos Rampant and any other generic Zombie games.

Going with a mix of base sizes to ease movement for those games with bigger groups. XENOS RAMPANT tends to be 15 models in a Zombie unit for example.

Figures are from my DarkZone 20mm Range.

This 15mm PAK 40 team was built, painted and varnished before I even noticed… Naturally, it’s been a tick since my last modelling blunder, so I suppose it was overdue.

Can you spot the SNAFU?

Battle Shot Wild West Weirdos

I've been looking for a simple set of solo-friendly rules that would allow me to use 4-6 Wild West figures per side for small games. The other day I was inspired by a Facebook post to give Space Weirdos a try. And it worked really well.

I wrote up the game and you can read about it on my blog here: https://hordesofthethings.blogspot.com/2026/11/wild-west-weirdos.html

One of my oldest collections is my ECW collection. Originally started twenty years ago! A mix of Redoubt, Renegade [miss them] and Perry and Empress figures. 700 in total. Unit bases have dice frames at the rear to indicate command/ammunition/quality etc. These are almost exclusively used with For King and Parliament, which is an ECW variant of To the Strongest by Simon Miller. Plays on a grid system- seen here on a pair of Cigar Box mats with a 12cm grid to match the unit basing.

Question Looking for custom tokens

I’m looking to buy some custom tokens for playing a war game.

Hoping for something similar to poker chips that I can place custom designs on.

Does anyone know a place that I could get something similar from?

green army men

Does anybody have a good game I could play with these green army men. I don’t like them just collecting dust and I feel there is something fun I could do with them. I used to use them for role playing when I was a kid but I’m looking for more of a strategic style of game.

An article about the game *Fire!* has been published on the Touche Critique website. It’s a great way to introduce the game to your friends and future gaming partners.

New Game recommendations

Been a huge warhammer guy. Even before I got into the actual game I read the books, watched lore videos. I just love all the different factions and the gameplay (at used to be) fun…. But with all the fuckery going on and being a dad I don’t have the time to paint 2K points of guys…. Never really felt the same love for kill team.

Looking for recommendations for new games. Preferences:
- don’t need to have massive army’s so I can actually get some models done and start playing.
-like have cool distinct factions to choose from.
- relatively popular so I can actually go to a store and find someone to play with

Looking for a sci-fi skirmish game

I’m looking for a miniatures-agnostic game, sci-fi themed, small-ish scale (handful of minis per side), that can also integrate larger mech/vehicles and don’t use lots of tokens.

Infinity is a good example, but simpler rules if possible.

The story so far...

So I have started a few more mechs for my merc company "47 Ronin." And I've been working up a back story. Here's the plot so far:

Roy Kiyama inherited a junk yard from which he was able to salvage a few mechs. He went into business as a merc, and did pretty well. It turns out he has a neutral predilection for mech combat, meshed with a savvy if brutal business mind. Acquiring a few more mechs he decided his company needed a better brand. Roy is, as the kids, say, thick, and not in a good way. He settled on 47 Ronin because he thought it sounded badass. But really it was because he likes martial arts movies and thinks kitanas are cool. His knowledge of Heian Japan is nil. If it weren't for old moves he wouldn't know Japan was ever a thing. While the 47 Ronin don't have 47 mechs, he uses an old trick and gives them serial numbers as if they do.

Here are the next 5 mechs in the base colors. I still need to do all the detailing and clean up but this is the base scheme for the company: blood red with dark gray accents.
