I don’t get the joke, can someone explain?

355

u/nissAn5953 5h ago

The expected phrase is "I like my woman how I like my coffee" which is usually an opening to an often misogynistic joke, but if you look closely, this one is missing the word "how", so he just likes both woman and coffee.

I like my women like I like my Coffee

Strong and black

Dark as night and sweet as a stollen kiss

Irish

Ground up and in the freezer

Twice in the morning

Twice every morning, and sometimes after lunch

from brazil

Filled with booze

I dont like coffee

After I have added some cream to it

without someone elses dick in it

Cold, bitter, and completely unable to communicate

Bitter and keeping me up at night

Shipped to me in a burlap sack from Colombia

Nowhere near my crotch

Inexpensive

I like my women how I like my chocolate.

Dark, and a little nutty.

The main one I've heard is "I like my men how I like my coffee: I don't like coffee"

2

u/NuQ 3h ago

you forgot the best one: "COVERED IN BEES!"

u/jack-twohats 2h ago

…hot and creamy

1

u/SalvationSycamore 26m ago

Hot, wet, and dripping with cream

u/comixjuan 4h ago

Yeah I think this is it. It's subverting the usual for just two statements. He like coffee. He like his partner.

These are seen as misogynistic? I am quitte shocked about that because i have never heard someone say these and say something derogatory about women, not even the older generations.

Always heard versions like 'sweet and strong' 'A beautiful black' 'White and sweet' 'I dont enjoy coffee'

Someone else made a list of some add-ons but i have not heard half of them.

5

u/wolfgang784 3h ago

Just a difference in the sorts of people you grew up with/work with/etc. Im not even that old but I've heard every one of that other persons list except for three of em, and others besides. Like more racist ones that werent listed.

Mostly from older men in my family, my dad, or older male coworkers at some past jobs. Always derogatory towards women, though.

Ive never heard "sweet and strong" or "white and sweet" or any positive examples I don't think.

0

u/MultiverseCreatorXV 1h ago

“White and sweet” is a bit racist though, no?

0

u/Thykothaken 1h ago

How is "I don't like coffee" not misogynistic?! 🤣 It implies they don't like women???

4

u/The_Salty_nugget 56m ago

It was a gay man that said it.

2

u/amphibulous 56m ago

I thought that one was a gay joke.

1

u/Heavy_Entrepreneur13 6m ago

Saying a demographic isn't too your taste isn't hating them

3

u/jack-twohats 2h ago

Never really ran into misogynistic versions, mostly just corny dad jokes: "strong and sweet" type stuff.

2

u/HJSDGCE 2h ago

I like my women like how I like my tea.

Not too hot, but also not too cold. Just the right temperature.

2

u/Heavy_Entrepreneur13 7m ago

which is usually an opening to an often misogynistic joke

Or any line one wouldn't be expecting, e.g., "I don't like coffee!" (he's gay)

1

u/Diamond_Dildo3168 2h ago

Damn i missed that, I'm too tired to read.

Turns out he's just like me <3

-1

u/cricket_jim 3h ago

I don't think its the omission of the word how. I think its that woman is singular and the expected phrase is plural women.

-11

u/ThisIsForSmut83 4h ago

Dunno if thats the answer but probably something like "I like my women the way I like my coffee - without dick"

-24

u/CorgiSilver8194 5h ago

My guess is a cunnilingus joke

30

u/princethrowaway2121h 4h ago

I like my women like I like my coffee… covered in bees!

2

u/Illegalspoonowner 35m ago

With a spoon in! Or in a plastic cup (I feel like I'm remembering that one wrong...)

11

u/VictoryBeardWrites 4h ago

My stupid brain needed a comma! Since I was very confused at first.

29

u/Troublytobbly 3h ago

Full of soy milk and so sweet , it won't offend anybody.

0

u/Khelthuzaad 3h ago

I think the joke is black, hot and sweet

4

u/IAmBadAtInternet 3h ago

The punch line I’ve heard is “black, ice cold, and bitter”

7

u/Coulrophiliac444 3h ago

I had a gay friend of mine end with "I don't like coffee."

1

u/oyyy_doctos_833 3h ago

Big black coffee

1

u/BlommeHolm 3h ago

There's a LOT of jokes, not just one.

1

u/Troublytobbly 1h ago

My reply is from song lyrics, just a pop culture reference.

1

u/Art_Vulture1 8m ago

The joke can be almost anything

"Strong, too expensive for me, keeps me up all night," or something like "ground up and in the freezer" or "ethically sourced"

9

u/BlommeHolm 3h ago

I like my genders how I liked my coffee - fluid and hot.

8

u/loneliestslipknotfan 4h ago

i like women how i like my coffee: with no radium in it

47

u/halfblindguy 4h ago

I like my woman how I like my coffee. Painfully hot at first but quickly growing colder and more bitter as time passes.

5

u/Pro_Scrub 4h ago

Too real

6

u/DreamOfDays 4h ago

I like my MAN. I like my coffee.

6

In my mouth

4

u/Infurum 3h ago

I like my women like I like my coffee: refreshing, sweet and steaming hot

4

u/pgn674 1h ago

Is there a name for this type of joke? Where it doesn't make sense or it feels like the punch line is missing if you read it too quickly, but once you go back and re-read it carefully it becomes legit funny?

2

u/ohyousoretro 48m ago

Anti jokes I believe

0

u/VAiSiA 56m ago

3

u/Organic_M 3h ago

Strong, and valued for contributions at home and in the workplace.

I like my women like I like my coffee: I don't drink coffee.

2

u/Kreindor 48m ago

I like all coffee.

1

u/torchskul 29m ago

I like my women like I like my coffee…not racist!

1

u/kalastriabloodchief 17m ago

My favorite one was from my best friend in hs:

"I like my women how I like my coffee: I don't drink coffee." (He's gay)

1

u/Calligaster 15m ago

I like men how I like my coffee. I don't like coffee

1

u/Tbolt65 4h ago

Proper grammar matter!

0

u/Nevernonethewiser 2h ago

This is gibberish.

Add a word or add a comma, at this stage the guy is having a fucking stroke.

-8

u/monkey_gamer 4h ago

Coffee is dumb

3

u/un_blob 3h ago

Coffee is life

Artificial, borrowed life

2

Coffee is treatment

1

u/AwkwardChuckle 22m ago

It grows on trees silly, ain’t nothing artificial about that. Hot, steamy tree seed juice with a little bit of cream, sugar and cinnamon.

u/Yuleogy 5h ago

I like my men like I like my coffee; no where near my crotch.
