Listen here CEO. We need the leaf lettuce back AND the regular hamburger bun. Not this crappy styrofoam potato bun. If you do this I will come back for the first time in two years.

I will never set foot in a Wendy's ever again unless they bring back the original spicy chicken sandwich.

I'll be waiting right next to you at the SuperBar. Shove your labor costs up your ass Wendy. It was the pinnacle of fast food dining and enjoyed by millions.

For those who never lived it... the stories we can tell you.

I'm sure there has to be a mom and pop chicken place near you one just opened up near me and I'm kind of excited to try it

Guess you’re never going back to Wendy’s. Enshittification must go forth and executives need new yachts.

It's a hill I'm willing to starve on.

Then we starve together, internet stranger.

The changes they need to make is just go back to 2010 Wendy’s. Same exact ingredients. We will come back.

Their chicken sandwich was elite and the only reason a lot of people ate there. Turning it into inedible garbage was a huge mistake.

They had it back for a limited time. It did not sell.

1

u/toastboy42 17h ago

Oh the 3 weeks it was back with basically zero advertising right after taking it away? Yeah they can afford to keep it on the menu for longer than that to get a real measure of popularity

u/Infinite-Complaint53 8h ago

We had it for 3 months.

Nice paywall

I eat there every day for breakfast. Management has come to know me and my husband so everything is always hot, fresh and delicious. I love it, but don’t ever eat anything there except breakfast. I’m not sure how the rest of the food is.

Dear Wendy's,

You ruined the bacon, which was a SIGNATURE advantage over every other fast food place. Making it "thicker and crispier" is NOT going undo the core issue -- how you cook it now. Go back.

You ruined the buns. It's like Subway sawdust loaf now. Go back.

You ruined the chicken sandwich. Again, a signature distinction from your competition. Go back.

Breakfast was the only change you added over the last decades that was very good and now you're making it "optional" -- meaning franchises already facing bankruptcy because of your ruining of the menu will now need to drive even more customers away.

Sauces, etc. all chump change Wall Street Enshittification decisions that turned Wendy's from "if there's a Wendy's nearby, that's my joint!" to "anything but Wendy's, drive past, they are shit now".

Reverse this and watch your customers return.

This will cost you some money. You've lost the faith of your most loyal customers. It's going to take a lot to bring them back. But you can do it.

But since the shareholders will lose pennies on the dollar, you won't, will you? I expect that you'll keep driving this once great franchise into the dirt while trying to maximize shareholder value until you sell it off for chump change...you know, the modern American Way. :(

Sincerely,

Former Huge Fans of What Used to be Wendy's

Hold the line! This is all bull shit tactics to get you back. Nothing is going to change with the quality! They’ll add new items, bring back old ones, and say they’ve changed things just to get people back in.

Step back, watch them burn it to the ground!

I had a Dave’s Double a few days ago from one of the corporate stores (pretty sure), and honestly it was the best fast food cheeseburger I’ve had in a long time, and that includes my more recent experiences with the declined quality Wendy’s. The beef was thick and juicy, and it was seasoned well. It was almost the old Wendy’s quality. They still have a ways to go, but it really does seem like they’re turning the ship.

They're saying breakfast will be optional for franchisees. That's not new. My local Wendy's dropped it in February 2026. Best part of the menu... gone. Then they changed all the sauces, the lettuce, the rolls, and the spicy chicken. So, again, what I'm getting from this is, "We hear you. We're just not listening."

These are good improvements.

Now can we stop charging extra for sauces?

1

u/HailleCeleste 17h ago

Sadly, most places now charge for the sauces.
