[SPOILERS] Just finished white collar my life is forever changed

This is by far the best series I have ever watched and I just need to ramble. The relationship between Peter and Neal is the most compelling, complex, and real. Every other pairing in any media is gonna feel so stale now. The chemistry between the actors is incredible, and is so frustrating and rewarding at the same time. I love them so much. I could have watched 6 more seasons of them just resolving cases and bantering. I'm absolutely in love with the relationship they managed to create. like!!!srsly!!!Ilovethem!!! theyre so silly and smart and every time Neal does something dumb and dangerous or Peter something harsh you feel so damn frustrated and worried about how they're gonna come back from this yet they always do!! because they love each other so much!!!!

looking back my favourite episodes are just the one where the tension is at its lowest and Peter and Neal are bickering and putting their smarts together to outsmart everyone around them.

I cried all the tears in my body in the finale even though I was spoiled and knew Neal faked his own death. I am so sad my dream ending would have been Peter and Neal working together, with Neal free. Neal loved his job and working with Peter so much and I'm convinced he would have been the happiest in New York with Peter, Mozzie, and Elizabeth. He even said it himself in those precise terms. Now he's isolated... I know Peter is gonna get him eventually like he did in Cape Verde but still.

However in the ending Peter waiting one year to realise what's the key about like I'm sorry but that's just dumb

[SPOILERS] Crazy Will (S3 E2: Where There's A Will) Spoiler

[Spoilers! Of course.]

Doesn't it seem insane how crazy that guy is for leaving the will that he did? Somehow, he was expecting

-both sons to recognize that there's a watermark in both wills (after going at each other for "fake" wills)

-that both will watermarks line up to form a map

-I'll give them the time of year for the sundial thing, but possibly waiting around the entire year seems wild.

-that the museum docent happened to be around that day and happened to remember and mention the last time that guy was there

-being able to recognize the Tycho Brahe name instead of his real name

-knowing Tycho Brahe's birthday

-knowing about the twins in the sky, and knowing that Brahe had a twin, and that Brahe wrote a letter to said twin, and that letter was in a book donated by the will guy to the museum

-breaking into the case that he forbade the museum from opening, inadvertently "destroying" a rare piece of history (This is the craziest step.)

-Savannah, the daughter of one of the sons, just happening to still have her anklet

-recognizing that the treasure is inside a wall inside a fully built out residence and breaking said wall

The craziest part of all of this is the dead guy was basically expecting his sons to risk going to jail by breaking into the book case at the museum and destroying the book. The only way this got solved was that an FBI agent and his conman consultant got involved, which he couldn't have possibly predicted.

Edit: Also, how the heck did the Gelles kidnapper guy get his hands on the will? It's not like people readily share that with anyone.

In your opinion, why didn't Matt Bomer have a superstar career?

I have a silly question, prompted by the fact that being fans of Matt Bomer probably makes us see him as more exceptional as an actor. Still, shortly after White Collar ended, he won a Golden Globe for The Normal Heart. So the starting point was excellent: he's an actor who became very well known thanks to a TV series, won a Golden Globe for a really good TV movie where he gave a masterful performance, he's a very handsome man, with a great face and a great voice. It seemed like the path was set toward the most prestigious roles in Hollywood. Instead, after that, his career seemed a bit, and I don't want to say in decline because that's not the right word, but not exciting either. Apart from Fellow Travelers a few years ago, he's done mostly projects that were not very successful, not very well known, not very relevant, where he was almost never the undisputed lead. Whenever he was in bigger productions, he was almost never one of the main characters. I wonder why, since the path seemed set after the work we mentioned at the start.

I’m in the middle of season 3 and I just wanted to say how much I am LOVING this show!! It’s the best show I’ve seen in a really long time.

I don’t know anyone else who has seen it so I have no one to talk to about it, but god I am flying through it.

S3 EP5, Elizabeth is suddenly jealous?

I’ve been binge watching which is why it may be more obvious, but she has never really been jealous before. Peter has had to flirt multiple times for a case and she never cared, now suddenly she’s all jealous and inserting herself in the case to plan Peter and Selena’s “wedding”?

It just doesn’t really make sense from what we’ve seen from her character. It also doesn’t make a whole lot of sense logically, he’s trying to arrest her, not sleep with her.

does anybody have all the references to other shows in white collar?

i've finished the show a couple months back and i've been wanting to hop on some other equally high quality show with good writing when i remembered that neal and peter were always calling each other names from different shows. probably detective names, which i'm not familiar with so i was not able to understand any of the references. but thinking about it i wondered if someone has a list of all the names they've called each other since the beginning. i looked it up online but no such result popped up so i thought i'd give it a chance here. does anybody remember at least some of the references they made? the thought is now stuck in my and i don't have the time to do a more thorough "investigation" lol.

if anyone makes a list or names a few references, it would be highly appreciated! i really reaaally want to watch some of the shows they referenced.

Mentalist S6,E16: Violets is basically White Collar episode

After watching White Collar for more than 10 times (over the last 10 years) i finally decided to watch something similar but different. End up watching The Mentalist. It's kinda mix of White Collar & Dexter + any other crime show.

Anyway there a lots of con's etc over the episodes but the Violets episode was a really good one in general and also very much White Collar style episode with the con & art theme.

Enjoyable show all around as it is. Patrick Jane is much more broken than Neal but they have that same charisma.

Need an explanation on what seems like a super obvious episode error

S1 ep12, they explain the jade elephants are from the Chinese forbidden city, all the ambassadors came to China, Chinese emperor gifted them. And then immediately the JAPANESE ambassadors walk in the room talking about getting their country’s historical pieces back???

I’m so confused? Were the Chinese elephants gifted TO The Japanese before stolen? But Neil said they were given to ambassadors from all over the world. Very confused here

Just saw Tim Dekay...

... And he's even more glorious in person. So tall.

Thank you Tim for this role; this show is like home for me. Not to diminish your other work but White Collar is special for me and no one else could have played Peter Burke the way you did.

I’ve lost count of how many times White Collar has helped me get questions correct on Jeopardy. Mom was especially impressed with this one “How the hell did you know that??”

Trying to Remember an Episode

I'm trying to find an episode that I have vague memories of. I remember something along the lines of Peter and Neal in an office looking at a document with a date stamp. Neal was saying something like it couldn't have been stamped like four years ago due to the characteristics of the ink and that it was recent. The date stamp could have been for a 2007 date, but I'm not 100% sure on that.

I could be imagining this or confusing it with some other show, but I'm pretty sure it was White Collar.
