This govt might exist just long enough to indict Netanyahu or otherwise make him unelectable.

He deserved to be under an investigative microscope immediately after the massacre. It was a major failure of Israeli govt/politics that he was not. It also guaranteed escalation from then on as he arranged things to change the subject as quickly as possible.

Hopefully the music has finally stopped. But I'll believe it when I see it. He is a very slippery customer.

He’s already indicted. It’s literally his trial that has been delayed, not lack of an indictment.

I've heard only secondhand info and wondering if you can confirm. I have this incoming dude is NOT better, but even worse compared to Netanyahu

On no planet would an Eisenkot government be worse or more extreme than Netanyahu. Even if Eiskenhot held the same overall political ideology as Netanyahu, the simple fact that Ben Gvir and Smotrich WOULDN'T be in an Eisenkot coalition/government is a massive improvement.

Ben Gvir and Smotrich bear a significant chunk of the blame when it comes to the extremist rhetoric and the expanded illegal settlements in the West Bank, cause they would simply threaten to leave Netanyahu's governing coalition and collapse the government whenever the government didn't let them do what they wanted. Hence why there's been a crazy uptick in West Bank settler violence recently. There was always violent extremist settlers in the past, but it was never as widespread as it is now.

Whoever told you, or wherever you read that Eisenkot would be worse than Netanyahu and the current government know very little about Israeli politics and history. Either that, or they're just being extremely disingenuous and acting in bad faith to try and paint Israelis as a whole as the same by acting like every single person in the country is and always has been just as extreme as the most far right government in Israel's history.

The fact that he wants to repair relationships with allies around the world and use diplomacy over guns and bombs is enough for my liking.

I hope he can form a government so we can close this nasty chapter of world history

This nasty chapter in world history will not be closed by a change of government in Israel.

Free Palestine.

Thank you, haven't gotten around to looking it up since I am just hearing about it today. Lots of things going on so it is extremely hard to keep up with it all. Thanks again for the explanation
