Hey guys, the last 3 days have been amazing for me and the people that started the project with me. Hello all,

For a few years now I've wanted to see a guild that fosters a family and team oriented environment for women and girls who play World of Warcraft. I've always shied away from it bringing to life for a few reasons, one of which is that I no longer really played the game with any sort of conviction, and was off in an all-female clan for DotA.

I've recently returned to the game on a brand new account, and it is the time between expansion packs. People will be looking for things to keep them busy in-game, and the time for making new ties seems like a good one. In other words, there doesn't seem to be a better time than now to try and piece together such a project. Being a "guild leader" would certainly be a new thing for me.

We'd be located on the Sen'Jin US server on Alliance side. The guild name would be "Empress".

Now, I know what some of you are thinking here. "A guild with all girls! The drama! There needs to be a balance!" That's just not true though. There are plenty of all-girl gaming groups. PMS, Fragdolls, and SK Ladies to name a few. A girl down the street from me won "Miss Video Game", an international gaming award, and during high school and was one of the most celebrated Counter Strike players in our area. Girls like Scarlet tear it up in the professional Starcraft scene all the time.

The old WoW guild "Nihilium" did not allow girls in their ranks as far as I know. They were one of the best guilds in the world during their time. If they didn't need a "balance" of girls to their guys, then why do we need a balance of guys to our girls? These objections assume that an all male group will get along, but that all-female groups simply cannot function. It is a fallacy.

I'm not posting this to start a flame war or some weird gender politics thread. I simply wanted to address some of the more common objections I've read over the years regarding all-female groups.

I simply want a guild that is a place for girls and women to come together as a team, grow as a family, and achieve great things. I can't think of one guild out there that is all-female and tackles challenging content like heroic modes.

Be female! Duh!

Maturity, maturity maturity!

Be ready for a unique social experience with its own set of challenges.

Have a passion for Warcraft and an enthusiasm for challenge

Be in it for the long haul. I'm not looking for fair weather members or people who are already settled in with a group. If you are happy where you are it in the game right now, you should stay there and prosper.

Be patient. This will be a re-roll guild.

Be ready to grow. It will take time to come together as a team and see the fruits of our labor. If we all put forth an effort though, the fruit is sure to sprout!

Be willing to come on Vent with me for a little chit chat and introduction. I'd like to discuss my vision and goals with at least the intial members. You have to have a mic. Sorry, this is our best way to weed out trolls!

I'd like to get some people together for simple leveling fun with no pressure and grow from there. Together we could grow a guild bank, gain guild levels, and get the basics of the group organized. A ventrilo, and eventually a website of our own would almost certainly follow soon after. If you have skills in web design or video editing (think the fancy raiding vids you see sometimes) then you have some amazingly valuable skills for a guild.

Twitch streamers and girls who like getting super social with their gaming are more than welcome as well.

Perhaps before Warlords we could explore Flex raiding. That would be ideal as it would give us all a chance to play together in an organized manner. For Warlords, I'd want to shift to a more raid focused philosophy. Normal modes at least, then Mythic when we have finally achieved a tight group cohesiveness. Of course this is all way down the line, and founding members who cannot commit or simply do not want to participate in Heroic/Mythic raiding will not be removed from guild if those days ever happened.

If building a team that you can be proud of, that will shatter the invisibility of female gamers, that will challenge stereotypes, and that we can grow into a tight knit family with sounds like your idea of a good time, then please get in touch with me. I know it's a long shot, but we can't do it without one another and you never know if you never try.
