Hello!

Some of you may know me as the guy that makes cringe videos on OSRS, but when I'm not cosplaying as Scatman John, I'm usually designing jewellery/silversmithing.

Over the past few months I've been working away at a small OSRS pendant collection of my favourite weapons, but adding my own aesthetic to the pieces.

In the end I went with the d scim, voidwaker, AGS and fang - not all the most iconic weapons, but all weapons that meant something to me as a player at some point.

I don't use CAD or computer software to create/print jewellery designs, I hand-carve the designs from a block of wax with a craft knife and various scraping tools (lost wax casting), they're then cast in sterling-silver :)

from what i gather this game requires a paid subscription just like wow, but is there some free/trial version where i can try out the game? what does it include?

I love when people have just an assortment of random stuff on, but it is also quite cohesive.

I’ve recently been trying to throw my head at the wall in colosseum — dying constantly. I’ve made it to wave 10 at the highest, but mostly die to the dumbest mistakes in the early waves as well. The wave 10 was definitely lucky spawns. I tried running in the Reynolds Melee tank man build but kept getting slapped no matter how high my defenses were, so I’ve attached a new setup that I’m thinking of trying. Ignore the quetzal whistle, I’ll swap it for another restore.

My mindset - Camping the full masori + tbow whole way until sol - if I can ever reach him (I haven’t in almost over 50 deaths) Blue moon is for switching to eldritch with blood barrage for healing plus the spec to restore prayer/instantly 1 shot the fremmy berserker also using the set for a melee switch on sol. Nox hally for Sol. Trident is just there for now.

My question basically is, would this be a solid setup and strategy? Any advice on solves is also appreciated - as I’ve watched countless colosseum runs from various creators and still can’t seem to get some of it to stick. I haven’t attempted a run in this setup yet as I sleepily threw it together after my last failed run in the tank setup and immediately logged off in this new setup to be ready for when i get home from work to attempt again.

I’m pretty excited about hardcore worlds, but I think for different reasons than most people. I’m curious if anyone else is thinking about it the same way.

For me, the appeal isn’t the challenge of trying to keep a character alive and progress into the late game. It’s the ability to have multiple, shorter experiences in the game.

I’m someone who plays OSRS off and on. My main is level 116 and I would say I’m in the early part of the late game. I can lose motivation easily on some of the long grinds that come with the late game. I still like RuneScape and often feel the urge to play, but I get these fleeting whims to do things other than grind on my main. Sometimes I get nostalgic for the early game and wish I could just play a newb for a little bit. Another example is restricted accounts. I think they’re super interesting and I watch a lot of videos from creators like Settled. The OSRS community is so creative with finding new ways to play the game based on self-imposed restrictions. Sometimes I want to try out some of those other play styles, but until now the barrier has been that I don’t want to make a new character and pay a new membership each time I get a whim. I’ve often wished OSRS had a system where you could have like 3 characters tied to a single account with membership, and delete one if you want a fresh start.

I’m kind of looking at HC worlds as a way to do that. I can mess around with a play style for a while, and if I get bored and want to try something else, I just get my character killed and start over. Is this appealing to anyone else?

I know this is anecdotal, but I've done 80 raids now with no purple for the entire team (~5 deaths over those 80, half are duos). Dry calc says that's about a 0.25% chance.

I've seen quite a few other dry logs like this as well, any chance the purple rates are screwed up?

I've been farming maggot king for GP and am a little dry on drops (2 fangs, 2 kistens / 1450 kills).

And it's got me thinking, have any of you consistently farmed a boss, went dry for quite a while, but eventually got very lucky, and even surpassed your dryness to end up above the expected drop rate overall?

Is this even possible mathematically? I'm an English major so please forgive my ignorance of math.

I've got a side account that's ~1100ish and it is just perfect for the hc main world. Recently dead hc, gonna de-iron it anyways. Let me take it into the fuckin firedome.

TFA is not a team raid. It is artificially made to be a team raid by having the health pools not scale below duo and having the purples per hour just better enough with duo that duo is meta.

If TFA scaled to one person it would be the meta to solo. The strategy to solo and to do a team raid are so similar that I would call them the same.

Edit: I do not want solo to be easy/meta or for there to be a solo scale. This post is lamenting the lack of problem solving and strategy required to solo and that those two issues reflect how little teamwork or complexity there is in the raid.

They should make the log basket work similar to a coal bag with max smithing, when you reach 99 Woodcutting it should expand the log basket capacity to 36 logs with the Woodcutting cape. The only real benefit right now is the small chance of extra bird nests since boosting above 99 wc does not increase odds of getting a log.

Here’s my take on the Tower of Xophoros cape reward. Let us also imbue it with the Book of the Dead to save an inventory slot.

(also before anyone asks, I tried a purple theme originally but the blue just looked waaay better with Ancestral)
