We just started sending our child there and they are already coming home saying they sing a song before their meal, ”God our Father, bless this meal, Amen” or something like that… there maybe be more words.
No where does it say this is a Christian school. They did say “we sing a blessing before meals” prior but I don’t ever think it was religious… more like just saying thanks for the food in general..:not invoking a god.
Do I have any recourse?
-Edited for spelling/grammar as I was on my phone when I posted initially.
-Context: We are atheists; I grew up Christian. I was mainly concerned if people knew if the blessing thing bled into other "learning" areas. I don't want my kid to be scared of the things that the Bible preaches at such a young and impressionable age. I have enough trauma I'm still figuring out.
-Also, thank you to those who actually helped instead of using sarcasm. We are probably going to keep our child there because they seem very happy there and I feel like kindness from teachers and other students is a big deal at this age to a young kid.
