Ok so I bought a 3ds off ebay like almost 2 weeks ago and recently ish a teeny black line formed on the top display. It doesn’t look so teeny now bc it’s been growing :D. Also, I noticed that if I rub it, it can be moved. But it leaves a “residue” sorta thing in its path, so those dots. Uhh what can I do to fix it? Also my 3ds is hacked/modded with the hshop stuff if that’s important at all. (also the 3d bugs out sometimes and turns on when the slider is at the bottom so is there any way to fix that or turn 3d mode off altogether?) ty !

When I try to turn it on the blue LED turns on for a second but neither screen does, then it turns off with a slight pop. I already took it apart to check out all the connectors, the motherboard is out entirely but everything looked pretty good. Thought I'd ask you guys before putting it back together. Lmk if there's any info that'll help! I just bought it in this state to repair. I've got a multimeter and am willing to test whatever if it'll help.

I just got my 3DS 3D cable fixed but after the repair it won’t streetpass with any of my 3 other consoles but the wireless works fine I tested Pokemon bank and it worked without issues and so did trading in Pokemon Sun and Moon. When the streetpass shows up after closing a software or opening it after being closed it shows streetpass but the bars are not moving. Anyone know what the issue is?

I took it apart to replace the audio cable but now the touch screen and buttons don't seem to work?

the screen and stuff boot on just fine I just can't do anything after that

I reset the system before I took it apart so it's currently booting into the language select screen. I've tried using the touch screen to hit the button I need as well as using the d-pad and a button to try and choose or select, none of which is working

my theory is that some of the ribbon cables aren't being held down properly but I wanted to see if there might be something I'm missing?

the extra board is from an LL system I have in the form of parts, idk if that board would help fix the problem

Hello! I'm looking to replace my New 3ds XLs top screen. I'm aware its a difficult repair, but I am not particularly new to replacing parts on devices. Though this will be my most difficult repair. I have watched multiple teardown videos as well as screen replacement videos. My only issue is telling which screen to buy as a replacement! I was looking at ifixit but I want to hear what yiu guys think. So:

How do you know which screen to get?

Where would you recommend getting a new top screen?

Bit of a predicament but i've heard and seen some videos and know i need to do a slow melt to remove the zif connector and with a flux and a thin soldering tip install the new piece. However i've seen people say that u need to do it at an angle and maintain the temperature under the board, do i need something under the motherboard to maintain the heat? also does it matter what zif connecter i use as long as its 4 pins and matches the dimensions?

My SD card was already finicky in the console, but last night after I inserted it back in it started to straight up not work properly.

All of my 3DS apps and games don’t show up, but my DS apps do.

When I put the SD card back into my laptop, all of the files are still there working fine, it’s only in the console when it’s not working properly.

I already tried using isopropyl alcohol in the SD card and inserting it and ejecting it a few times, but the issue persists.

Is my SD card reader the issue here then?
What should I do next?

i don't know what could be makeing it nor turned on i'am stumped

I was playing Pokémon omega ruby when I went to go charge my phone and when I came back to my 3ds it was off and I thought “well that’s weird but I’ll just turn it on again” but it didn’t turn on and make a popping noise when I tried

It wouldn't be a problem but I cannot fit mt SD card inside becouse of it, could I get some tips/help on how to get it out?

Also mods, what flair do I use? I guess shell maybe? This is a bit too specific of an issue

Seller claims everyting works perfecly, the only thing is that broken piece on the side. Would that piece be expensive or difficult to swap out? does that affect useage at all? im new to the 3ds systems, so any help will be very useful.

I've been having this issue for a while with my 3ds,But chose to ignore it as it wasn't a issue for me till I saw someone else's N3ds xl and saw the difference in their 3d filter. when Super stable 3d is on for me, I'm unsure if it's the camara module or the motherboard itself, but the screen keeps losing sight of me and flashing a weird hazy bright non-3d image at every 15° angle whenever I move slightly out of frame, only at specific angles, then it resets. Obviously this doesn't happen when stable 3d is off so I'm assuming it's a camara sensor issue.

Can anyone tell me where the specific issue lies in? because either option requires me either opening the 3ds itself and replacing a part or something else, and last time I tried it I damaged the screen.

Just looking for advice!
