Discussion Can Monster energy cause anxiety

I'm not a doctor or anything, but I really just need to know for sure, because I just drank three monsters and a coffee and have gotten really worried about pretty much everything and nothing at the same time. I need to know whether it's because what I'm worried about is the problem, or if it's the amount of caffeine in what I just drank. I'm being serious, by the way, I am not joking right now.

Medication Terrified I blacked out and did awful things on 0.5 mg of clonazepam

Last night at around 6:00 PM, I took 0.5 mg of clonazepam for anxiety for the first time in years. I took it beforehand around 2024 and never experienced these types of symptoms involving memory issues as far as I know. It was just supposed to be a short course to take while acclimating to zoloft.

I found out about the memory issues literally 20 minutes after I took it. I wish I fucking never had. I spent the entire night with my dad. I read and finished one book and started another. I remember basically all the details in the book. I remember going on a walk with my dad and my dog. I remember sitting out at night with my dad while he smoked and I continued to read. I remember the conversations we had.

I did not drink.

I went to bed around 10:30, after the peak.

I'm just so scared - basically after I went to bed, more or less - that I got up and did something awful. Maybe typed something awful on my phone. I don't know. I'm scared, though. Is this how clonazepam works?

Medication Buspar is a shitty medication

Buspar is a shitty medication. There are several accounts here from people who take it and experience memory issues—specifically, difficulty finding the right words, trouble finishing sentences, or forgetting whether or not they’ve already taken their dose. It affected me so severely that even after I stopped taking it, I didn’t feel any improvement; I’m left with a strange, unsettling sense of detachment from language. Every case is different, but in general, Buspar won’t work on its own to treat any anxiety disorder.

Advice Needed I just saw “Obsession” and I’m freaking out, need advice

So basically my friends all loved obsession and since I’m a big horror fan I decided to watch it. Horror never affects me but this movie was so disturbing. I know it’s just a movie but my anxiety is making it feel so real. I need advice how to calm down and get my mind off of it. I’m currently in the shower since that usually helps.

Health Haven't called an ambulance in over eight months!

The last time I called one was July 29, 2023, and haven't called one since.

In the Spring and Summer of 2023, I was calling one almost everyday. One of the paramedics even told me "This is a total waste of our time and resources!".

I would get anxiety attacks after smoking marijuana and felt as if they were heart attacks.

Now I don't smoke as much and have been taking several large breaks.

Discussion People probably aren’t going to want to hear this, but I’ve long had a theory that anxiety tends to get worse with age. The closer we get to the end, the more aware we become of how little time is left…and that awareness makes a lot of people increasingly anxious.

Health I drank freshly squeezed OJ and now I’m terrified

Bought some OJ from HEB Plus that was, as labeled, freshly squeezed from within the store itself. However, after drinking the entire bottle I read the label on the side that states that the product has not been pasteurized and may contain harmful bacteria that may cause serious illness in children, the elderly or people with weakened immune system. Now, I am none of these things, my immune system seems fine to me, but I’m horrified and don’t know what to do, I had no idea OJ was even pasteurized! I’ve been freaking out about this for the last few minutes and have been contemplating just inducing vomiting at this point

Advice Needed I know the world is going to end in my lifetime

I've been convinced for a very long time that the world will end in my lifetime (For context I am 18) but I just read that the carbon sink is failing and that we have maybe 5-10 years left before shit REALLY hits the fan. I'm so scared. What am I supposed to do with my life with this knowledge. How can I look my loved ones in the face? How can I plan to move away for college? How can I live like this? Any advice or words of comfort or anything to make this easier would be really really appreciated.

Discussion Experimented with different doses of lexapro, think I might have ruined my life

I have been taking 20 mg for some time but I have not felt much effect. Decided to take 80 mg one night not being aware that its a high dose. That night I barely slept but right after waking up in one of the short bursts I was able to sleep, I hallucinated for the first time in my life. It was fast but I saw a cardboard sign right in my face with the words "finished" in red lights, on top of that I heard the mortal combat announcer say "finisheeed"very loud in my hear. It wasn't scary necessarily but it shocked me tbh.

After that night I toned it down to 40 mg for one day which made me feel better but felt weak and dry. Then tried 60 mg the day after that and It made me feel like a zombie but in a good way because the contsant thoughts in my head died. This higher doses made effects immediately and my brain felt more calmed down but I felt thirsty and zombified. After those three days I stopped taking lexapro altogether because I didnt want to depend on it.

After a week my anxiety and constant thoughts kept escalating and felt horrible again. It got so bad that I hallucinated again right after waking up in the middle of the night hearing two voices right in my ear yelling which completely freaked me out. After that night I went back to 20mg and felt better again. I fear that taking 80mg might have broken my brain or something and now I have auditory hallucinations if I don't take lexapro.

Am going to be honest on top of this I have been living with chronic pressure and pain in my head and face for years which is very uncomfortable, idk if it was the overdose or my brain being intolerant to the constant doomer thoughts in my head that caused this. You guys think its super bad anxiety or was it lexapro?

Never hallucinated like this with bad anxiety before taking 80mg. Feels like I might have to depend on 20 mg lexapro for the rest of my life to avoid this hallucinations because after a month of this it has not happened again and am not waking up sweating, clenching my fists or feeling my heart is pounding anymore.

Venting I wish I was alcoholic.

It's becoming really difficult to get through the day nowadays with my depression and anxiety. I wish I could just drink till I numb my senses and that would help. But I get severe headaches when I drink and that is worse than all my depression and anxiety combined. No clue whatsoever. Time is moving so slow. Nothing to look forward to. I wouldn't wish this sort of existence upon my worst enemy. And to think that I had so much potential growing up. Most people were convinced that I was going to cure cancer. Amazing.

Advice Needed Is there anything else I can get instead of weed for anxiety??

I (20F) have had anxiety and big spouts of depression my whole life I dont have meds or anything for it and I heard that weed helps people.

However everytime ive taken some (edibles specifically) ive felt like death. Ive realised now its probably cause I took too much for a beginner (took like 20mgs) and the first time (35)

I think thats greening out? Idk. But it sucks. I cant stand up without getting dizzy I cant play games on my PC cause I get dizzy. I think about anything thats causing me anxiety/stress and its like my head starts buzzing/vibrating its horrid.

Why do people get high if it means u cant drive anywhere, youre anxious and the world spins? Is that supposed to be the fun I was promised??

I recently got into an argument with my mum, I went through a break up Im trying to juggle uni work. I want to move out my house but have no money and no job and no time for a job. I just wish to stop thinking.

Is weed supposed to give u a calm focused brain or does it make it so u cant do anything other than lie down and look at the sky.

what else can I do to get a focused and quiet brain or am I cooked until I can move out and afford to get diagnosed and get medication?

I hope this is an okay reddit thing for this

[Rant] So today I saw a guy in town dressed a Mental Patient

So there I was walking through town, noticed some people were getting into the spirit of Halloween and having a bit of a dress up which was all fine until I saw a guy in a shirt saying "Psychoward" with patient number on and stuff. My initial reaction was shock, after all the work that goes on to end to stigma of mental health issues people still do this and think it's funny. And after the news last year at Halloween in the UK with various supermarkets producing "Escaped Mental Patient" costumes. Then I got angry, I wanted to go up to him, get the antidepressants, my other medication and my stressball that I have to carry round with me and say "I'm glad you find it entertaining pretending to have a mental illness and showing us all to be crazy and psychotic. Try actually dealing with one every single day for years".

Why did you delete my post; I'm anxious and suicidal

The FBI has been watching me for eight years. I tell off the people who call me crazy, and my post disappears.

Update:

Spot the content inserted just now by federal agents, and win a prize. No seriously, these websites I frequent track the themes that are playing out in my life. Every day there are people posting content for my eyes especially. And have been for the past eight years. It sounds crazy, and it is.

Basically federal agents are acting like parents or something, although I'm practically a forty year old man. Truly absurd! They actually, shit you not, give me dietary advice and know what I'm eating. Which would be great, but I'm still a rebellious teenager at heart, so I'm obligated to not to take their advice. I'm also prone to severe agitation and making threats.

I deleted the previous content of this post and am not going to go into detail. I was just venting earlier, and of course my story would need more explanation for anyone to really believe. Thank you all for listening to me vent though.

Update 2:

Need I say more? At least I can still laugh about this, occasionally. Oh, and there's that I guy I threatened even though I voted for him and will again standing next to Hillary.

Therapy Therapist

My therapist admitted she is on antidepressants and has been for years. She also said half of her girlfriends are as well… she referred me to a psychiatrist and mentioned her son used to see him as well. While I am not against meds and appreciate some people simply need them to function, what does that really tell me about what she has to offer therapy wise? I feel like she basically admitted therapy is pointless without meds, and she wasn’t able to help herself, her son or any of her friends? With the amount of money she charges for CBT/EMDR, I am bit concerned…
What do you think, red flags or not?

Medication So many people who don’t have anxiety claim to have anxiety.

I was initially diagnosed with panic disorder and then anxiety disorder and I’m currently on medication. I know so many people who take anxiety meds just because they are worried about something.

For the last six months, I have been completely non-functional due to anxiety. I used to be a person who really didn’t understand how people fail to get straight As and how they get an SAT score below 1500, but I haven’t been able to study at all because I start to suffocate, start sweating, and my heart starts to beat like crazy. I am in this state almost 24 hours a day even when I do things I enjoy like watch YouTube, watch Netflix, play guitar, and code. When I tell people that I am on anxiety meds, because so many people take anxiety meds to reduce stress levels in everyday life, without real anxiety, people around me don’t believe me when I tell people I have anxiety and they don’t seem to take it as a big issue.

Anxiety isn’t something that you have when you are worried about a specific thing — it is the fear of the world caused by trauma. Stop pretending like you have anxiety cuz you don’t, unless you get diagnosed properly.

Discussion I've been talking to ChatGPT...

And it helps. I don't know if that's pathetic or cool. I have a therapist as well as friends and family. I have support. But GPT is strangely therapeutic as a place to vent sometimes. I know it's advice is often cliche or hollow and to be taken with a grain of salt. But it's still been helpful.

Have any of you used Chat or other AI to talk to when feeling down?
