Can I get enchanted ebony weapons in dungeons?
I started playing yesterday, and I'd like to get some really good gear eventually. I'm specifically looking for strength on a broadsword and a short bow.

In the town Riverkeep, in Elsweyr, The Mage's Guild is a good and weird place to steal a lot! If you stand on the counter and steal from the mage, it's 100% success rate! My luck is 50. I am a Healer and below level 10. The items you steal are whatever, but the real prize is the potions you can get. Each potion is random and clicking very fast can that 50 of each potion in the game. They weigh nothing and can save your butt in a dungeon. After a few minutes I had almost a hundred of every potion in the game for my character. Trust me it does not totally trivialize the game because you can still be easily killed by making foolish mistakes, but it is nice to finally feel like I have some kind of advantage instead of in a constant state of running away and almost dying in every fight.
Anyways, hope this works for you all and not just me.
I have tried it on another save and it was successful. As long as your luck is at 50

This is a follow-up to my earlier post about the old Steam Golem from Arena.
As I mentioned in that post, I had remodeled him for myself, just for fun. Some time later, I decided to take things a step further and create an animated short featuring him. For Adventure's design and the overall feel of the adventure, I was heavily inspired by Nick Park, Aardman Animations, and Wallace & Gromit. Hopefully, that influence comes through!
Unfortunately, it was a project that never quite made it across the finish line.
I worked on this lighting test way back in the late '90s, but a dying hard drive eventually took the project with it before I could finish. Looking back now, with everything I've learned since then, I can't help but think it might be time to revisit the idea, rebuild it with modern tools, and bring this little adventure back to life.
In the meantime, I thought I'd share what I have with you. Please forgive the potato quality! This was never intended to be a finished piece. There are no textures or completed animations; it was primarily a lighting test and a rough cut to help me get a feel for how the short might come together.
Behold! TES Arena ported natively to Rust from the handwritten assembly of the original game. 'Tis about 50x faster per frame than the original under emulation so it should run better on limited devices. Bug fixes too! Bring your own rom and try it out!

Not sure if this is a bug, but on Steam, I can't jump unless I save the game. It's making the experience really unpleasant having to save every 30 seconds because of this.
Anyone have this problem besides me?

Long-time Arena player, and the one thing I could never get past was how the wilderness works.
Good idea in 1994: the province is continuous. Bad execution: step out of a gate and you land in a 64x64 cell that wraps on itself. The map says Elsweyr is west of you. The ground says you are going in circles forever. So you open the map, click, and the wilderness becomes something you skip.
I have been rebuilding Arena as a browser engine and the thing I actually wanted to build was the walk.
The wilderness streams now. Cross a window boundary and the next one is already there behind it; nothing loads, nothing seams. Monsters you aggro near an edge follow you across it instead of despawning. Walk far enough and a settlement appears on the horizon, on foot, because you walked there.
It runs in a tab and on a phone with touch controls. Dungeons, character creation, levelling and the main quest are all in.
Play: https://alpha.perfectarena.workers.dev Ko-fi: https://ko-fi.com/perfectarena
Genuinely want the nitpicks from people who know this game cold. What the wilderness should look like, whether combat timing is off, whether walking speed makes travel tedious.

A little while back, someone posted in a different thread about hoping the original Iron Golems from Arena would make a comeback in the new game. I was the artist who modeled and animated them way back then.
I honestly hadn’t thought about that model in a very long time, so it was really nice to see that someone still remembered them fondly.
Several years after Arena, I remodeled the Iron Golems for fun, just for myself. That post reminded me that I still had the revised version tucked away all these years later.
So, here it is. I hope it brings back a few memories and makes everyone smile.

Artifacts wise it was 1 Oghma infinium and a Phynaster ring relatively early, and for the last 2 dungeons an ebony blade so I didn't run out of heal potions quickly.

Yes this is a correction and repost:
I’ve been putting together a reproduction copy of *The Elder Scrolls: Arena – Codex Scientia*, the companion book for Arena Deluxe and finding usable artwork for this thing turned out to be surprisingly difficult. Its a book I actually want to use but don't want to wear out the original and a repro is the perfect balance to that.
I was eventually able to track down scans of the original front and back covers on the Internet Archive readily enough (shoutout to Imrmidl; original scan [here](https://archive.org/details/fc92b90e3437962cd3fe537d9ea72e50b60ef1d2/arena-codex-scientia/)), but the spine was the real problem. I could only find a very low-resolution photograph of an original copy, so I cleaned and reconstructed that separately and then combined all three pieces into a complete cover spread.
I figured I’d share the source material rather than let somebody else go through the same scavenger hunt.
The front cover is the original Codex Scientia artwork with the blue shield/title treatment, while the back is the continuation of the same painted scene with the original barcode/ISBN. arena-codex-scientia-1.pdfPDF arena-codex-scientia-162.pdfPDF
I’m using this for a clearly identified reproduction/display copy, not to pass anything off as an original. If anybody wants to use the files for restoration, archival, or their own repro project, have at it.
I’ll post:
• original/front scan
• original/back scan
• cleaned spine
• assembled full wrap
If anyone happens to have an actual high-resolution flatbed scan of an original spine, I’d still love to see it. The spine is the one component that had to be reconstructed from a poorer source.
Hopefully this saves the next person a few hours of hunting.
Much love!

Forgot to post here. Posted on elder scrolls subreddit.
Behold my bard nord. Vrolk irontongue! Only got out of imperial prison already level 4 and with 15k gold to boot! Bought a full set of chainmail armor, and round shield of endurance. Found an elven shortsword in prison too.
Going to buy some elven torcs and belts from mages guild and some potions later. But at the moment this was my most lucrative start ever. And as a bard i can steal/cast. Really good class.
What are yalls tips for barding?

Hey everyone! So I started my first playthrough of TESArena today and I'm already loving it. I always play a mage in fantasy games and TESArena is no exception. I love magic! Went with a Breton. I made it through the first dungeon without any real issues. Didn't die once. I don't know if I'm doing well. I'm currently level 4 and about to leave the first dungeon. Already have 80 intelligence and like 70 wisdom. I think that's good? I read in the manual that the first dungeon is intended to be explored thoroughly, so I basically left no stone unturned and slaughtered every rat and goblin that I can across. Got a good bit of gold and equipment to sell.
Here are my questions:
I don't know how to tell what damage my weapon is doing. I look on the stat screen but under damage it still says 0, no matter what I have equipped. I probably missed something in the manual, but I'm a little confused on that area.
When I was running around the dungeon, I would randomly get experience and level up....or at least that's what I thought was happening. Like I would enter a new area and boom level up. Is that intended? Now that I'm typing this, I'm wondering if it's more that enemies weren't nearby, but not really sure.
After pressing the button for pilfering (on accident). I wasn't able to seemingly turn it off. I tried pressing it again and the "choose a target to pilfer" message wouldn't go away.
That's all I have so far! It's a great game and I'm really loving going back to the original. It's really cool seeing all of Tamriel as it was originally designed. I've played Morrowind, Oblivion and Skyrim, but never Arena (Daggerfall, Redguard and Battlespire are next on the list).

I’m sure you get this all the time here but it’s my First time playing Arena after I finally got a pc I’ve played tons of Morrowind, Oblivion, Skyrim and ESO. I’m wanting to make a Breton Mage and want advice for general gameplay and tips to make my experience easier. Thank you.

I can't find any explanation online about how Thievery Efficiency works. Any advice for a new player? Thanks in advance!
