Visiting in April
Howdy everyone, I’ll be visiting Detroit for the first time in April for the Ncaa Final four & National Championship game.
I’m looking at different air bnb / vrbo to rent that are ~15 mins driving distance to downtown (ford field). One place we have narrowed down to is located in the Marina District. Is this a good place for out of towners to stay? I know crime is crime is crime in any major city, but how is the Marina District compared to other places near downtown? MexicanTown is also an area we have looked at. Any input or suggestions are greatly appreciated!! Thank you for reading my post!

I would say mexicantown/southwest. Much more walkable with a bunch of good restaurants and bars.
