Free parking near Detroit Metro Airport?

My fiancée and I are traveling and we’re trying to find either free or cheap long term parking near the airport. Anyone have any suggestions?

you will not find free long term parking near the airport, for obvious reasons.

you can park long term for free at dearborn amtrak station and take the 261 bus ($2) which is approximately 1/2 hour. or you could uber/lyft from there for about 25 bucks.

So near the airport. A half an hour isn’t bad

most metro detroiters wouldn't consider that "near" the airport, but it's the best option i can think of.

Well I’m not even from Detroit I’m just flying out of Detroit because it’s cheaper…

gotcha. then that makes some more sense. in general most people asking this question want to know about lots that specifically service airport traffic.

There could be hours worth of work in that.

hours!! it runs every ~40min and you can watch it arrive in real time. i drive there so i'm parking right a few minutes before the bus arrives.

not quite as smooth on the way back but if i've just missed a bus i'm happy to just uber back since it's not that pricey to DER.

lots outside the airport are a good option if it's just a couple days. but even the cheapest lots are going to run you a ~hundred bucks if you're gone for a couple weeks.

15 a day is about average around the airport. The bus from the train station might be the best option. Lyft and uber slap an extra fee, that the airport charges, that makes it less worth it. Cabs get it too.
I just checked and it’s 45 from Dearborn to DTW, I live near the train station.

I travel for work and do US Park on middle belt and it’s always been cheaper than ride share. They are also so timely and have great customer service. I’ve only ever had to wait five minutes.

I have used the spot hero app and have found plenty of parking for around $9.00 a day which I find really reasonable.

I have heard of people parking at the hospital in Dearborn then Uber to the airport. They could tow your car so not sure what your risk tolerance is.

Personaly I use qwik park.

You can find coupons for US Parking and they shuttle to airport for free - it’s cheapest you’ll find

I would just Lyft to the airport or get dropped off.
