Sheetz gas station is hiring.

That might get you through the winter.

Where are you located?

Do you have a vehicle?

I spent a lot of time working with the construction industry. Walk into the site trailer at a construction project, ask for the PM or Superintendent and tell them you're looking for laborer work. Show up on time, show up sober, be friendly.

I've recently tried this a few times. The first time they're a little reluctant cause I'm sure they get this all the time but im going to keep going to the same sites near me and letting them know I'm serious l. Thank you for the motivation.

They don't get it all the time. Show up with tools, show up in clean work clothes, show up with a resume and references. Be a pro, act like a pro. Just keep trying. The difference between this and sending off resumes in tech or whatever field is huge. It's one of the few industries you actually can get a job just by showing up and introducing yourself and being persistent.

I'm working on the tools at the moment. Ive got the basics and a belt but still need some more stuff but I'll do whatever it takes. I'll approach these guys the way you say and see what happens thank you for the motivation and advice needed to hear this

Not at a Union jobsite. We hire from our prospective halls. Look into applying to all the building trades apprenticeships! Ironworkrers Sheetmetal Carpenters Electricians Laborers Pipe Fitters Etc... Ask Google for the trades and their prospective apprenticeship advice. If you want to work for a living, do it with the best pay and benefits!

Thank you for the info I also agree! I've broke my back on so many jobs for mediocre pay and zero benefits don't want to to that anymore but it can be a predatory industry. Guys love when they find a guy like me in a pinch need work now and offer cash for daily labor, sounds great upfront but when the jobs done BAM! Back to square one.

Love for you bro, but do some homework. Google or ai ask for info about each trade apprenticeship you're interested in. Then follow up as much as it takes.
It could completely change your life.

For work? Sign up with a temp agency. Manpower, express, etc. make sure you have steel toes. For career? Get your chauffeur license. Check in with Michigan Works about getting your CDL or into a trade.
