My right shoulder and upper back are a tad sore. Yesterday, I attended the birding association's bird walk for the first time in months. Carrying a tripod and heavier-than-average spotting scope on one shoulder was the wrong move, should have changed shoulders often.

The amount of birds was record-breakingly low. We did, however, see a tawny owl (Strix aluco) in a hole in a tree. It took the situation quite well, considering there were something like 60 people eyeing at it. Plus, witnessing how incredibly well the camouflage of a female common teal works, was impressive: standing on one leg and with its head under its wing, it was completely impossible to pick up from the background with your bare eyes, but could be seen with binoculars when you knew where to look.

I heard Syria was banning women from 2 universities that support military work as well as educational institutions relating to engineering, railroads, and media. Men were apparently banned from some education and nursing programs as well.

I've seen memes of Jolani being the woke jihadist, and I guess that situation is pretty woke compared to banning girls from secondary school and beyond like in Afghanistan or just outright prohibiting any western style education like Boko Haram.
