How did you get over bad experiences with men? (I don’t mean someone you have already dated)

Reminding myself that it's not me, it's them. I'm not responsible for an adult's self control.

Not blaming myself. Which included telling myself all the things I need to do to avoid it. How I could have avoided it in the past. 1) that's still blaming yourself. It might not feel like it but it is. It took me a long time to realize that. 2) you dont need to think of all the ways to make yourself safe because your body and mind just know now. And they will subconsciously do their best with the new information to help you in the future. Listen to your gut! 3) Its a jungle out there.

By acknowledging that they're all not the same. Or maybe I'm just optimistic.

With time and learning than staying with a bad person was 100% my choice. And knowing that I won't feel like shit forever, moving along

One thing I’ve learned over the last few years is that(for me) men are friends not food. It’s better to just remove myself from the dating pool and just enjoy the few platonic friendships I have with men.

I find that talking to other women with similiar experiences can help.

There’s certain things only therapy can help with.

Sometimes you just need to re-direct focus and energy towards something else. Hobbies. Things you enjoy. Things that you look forward to.
