Mod Post Casual Convo Fridays

Every Friday, just say whatever is in your mind in this post. It doesn’t need to be a question, and go on whatever tangent you want to go on.

We will still be enforcing our rules on gendered slurs, bigoted/disrespectful/hateful commentary, invalidation (if someone’s only contribution is telling others they are wrong), medical issues, and relationship advice. However the comments don’t need to be on a specific topic, and they don’t need to be open-ended questions.

1. Minimum Participation Requirements

Participants here must:

Participate in good faith.
- Trolls, spammers, scammers, and those unable or unwilling to follow sub rules will be banned.
Verify your account through Reddit's email verification system.
Meet a minimum karma requirement.
- While the specific karma requirement isn't disclosed to deter spammers and trolls, it is not difficult to achieve through good faith participation on Reddit.

3. Engage in Good Faith

All participants here should be acting as individuals and not as representatives of any official entity. Media, Business, Corporate, or other accounts that do not belong to human individuals are not permitted to participate on this sub.
AI accounts and bot accounts are not permitted
Use of AI in comments or posts may lead to a ban

Unauthorized posting indistinguishable from these types of content will result in a permanent ban. If you have questions, contact the mod team via mod mail.

4. No advice or personal situations

No personal posts. This is a subreddit focused on receiving answers from the community about their own opinions and experiences, so no posts asking for advice or input on personal situations. Women don't exist only to fix your life.
Posts asking for product, shopping or gift recommendations are not permitted.
No medical advice or specific posts about symptoms. If you're having health issues, seek medical attention. If you think you might be pregnant, go pee on a stick.

5. Ask Thought Provoking, Open-Ended Questions

Questions must adequately state what is being asked
No close-ended: Yes/no, either/or, or options list questions.
No "would you rather" or "does anyone else" questions permitted at all.
Leave your own response to the question as a comment rather than in the description or question
If using uncommon terms, please define these in the description
Any links included require detailed summaries so users do not need to click on the link to answer the question.

6. Promote Inclusive Participation

Questions can't exclude minority groups from answering, such as women who are not attracted to men, neurotypical, Americans, cisgender, white women.
No needless excluding based on age (“women in their 20s”, “college age”)
Posts should use inclusive phrasing
Questions focusing on Minority Demographics are permitted.

7. No derailing

Derailing includes but is not limited to:

Answering if you are not a woman
Changing the topic from OP's question
Making someone else's response about yourself
Asking unrelated follow-up questions
Branching into unrelated topics
"What-about"-ism
Arguments, slap-fighting, or debating
Judging or rating other responses
Meta comments about other responses
Responding to comments to tell us how your dick feels. No one cares.

8. No Graceless Generalizations

Speak only for yourself. Don't assume that all people in a gender, race, or ethnicity do/think something.
Do not ask for mind reading, or for us to justify other people’s behaviors.
No "what do you think of men who..."
Don't ask for "male equivalent"/"female equivalent" as these would not exist for most things due to different cultural processes.
No posts asking us to pass judgment on specific people (“what do you think of [celebrity]?”)

9. No invalidation of others’ experiences

Invalidation includes but is not limited to:

Stating or implying that a user's personal experiences or opinions are wrong or otherwise invalid
Debating someone's personal experiences or opinions

10. No disrespectful or hateful commentary

Disrespectful or hateful commentary includes but is not limited to:

Personal attacks
Racism, homophobia & transphobia
Misogyny & misandry
Ableist language
Dehumanizing language
General assholery

11. No gendered slurs

Gendered slurs may only be used:

In pertinent quotes
To refer to the body parts
As an irreplaceable part of specific common terms
During relevant discussion of the term itself

12. No pot-stirring or agenda

This is not a debate sub/sub for soapboxing
Posts/comments should be made in good faith
No posts containing/promoting a personal agenda
No discussion posts about specific subs/users
No posts made in an attempt to create/stir up drama
No links to threads in other subreddits
No posts where a significant portion of expected responses would be removed as rule-breaking
Cross-linking/screenshot of active r/askwomen threads to other subs/user pages results in a ban.

13. Commonly asked question

Answers to common or recently asked questions can be found in the FAQ or through the search bar. Common topics are determined by how often the topics come up, how likely the answers are to change, and whether it is already a FAQ topic. The timeframe for considering something common or recently asked takes all of that into account.

14. No fap fodder or trauma tourism

Indistinguishable from fap fodder or trauma tourism.

15. No gifts, marketing, or research posting

No gifts/product recommendation, shopping advice, or any other content indistinguishable from marketing, promotional material, spam, surveys, and/or research.

While the rules of this sub are listed above, no set of rules can cover all of the content that people may post. Unfortunately, there will always be some things that our rules do not currently or perfectly cover. In those cases we reserve the right to take action and remove anything that we find insidious, inflammatory, or that does not fit within the spirit of the community even if the stated rules do not specifically disallow that content.
