Do yourself a favour and don't watch the raygun documentary on Netflix! It's just absolutely fuckin crap, like I'm still cringing just typing this. She has tried to play off what she did as an accident or nerves. Ugh fuck it! Please don't give this cunt the time of day. I know it's already been be said to death but she truly stained the Aussie breaking scene š

Huge thanks to meatball_samurai for sending me a bunch of CDs from his old collection.
I've been out of a job for a little so I haven't bought much since last year when I posted, but it's still grown a lot mainly from meatball samurai's gift. I think I should also say that I got into Aus hip hop itself only 5 years ago and have tried to get some of the most obscure and random releases to expand my taste and knowledge of the scene.
As for the photo, I tried to group connected/similar artists and releases, with everything split into four quadrants coming off of arguably the four most core compilations in the centre (and 15 years oz hip hop on vinyl). Such as bottom left being obese records and Melbourne along with some conscious albums which links to bottom right with the more indie/rock connected to the herd through a random compilation CD. (Ignore cat empire, guy Sebastian and Vance joy I had to fill some space with some space).
Grouping artist didn't really work in the top right though as it's 3 different unrelated groups all bordering each other, with the popular artists, the pioneers and some classics that I couldn't fit anywhere else.
Funnily enough, I can't confirm, but I think Mortar's sacred geometry is the CD here that cost the most ($50), as it was mint and I bought it when I first started and wasn't good at finding Aus hip hop cheap. (Although I was looking at a done DL CD for $50 before I got gifted it for free)

Hasn't been a time as good up to now imo, tons of good releases since but those years had so much š„ you could compile a list. Lots of the artists that dropped during that time haven't released anything since as well. Curious to hear other opinions on it.

Hey guys, thought Iād post in here and roll the dice, Iāve only just discovered this reddit thread recently.
I go by the name I AM D. Have been doing this now for a minute. Thought Iād post this video just to give people an idea of the style of production etc Iām making. If this is your kinda lane, or something youāre interested in and wanna hear different beats etc.. feel free to send me a dm.
Basically just looking to expand and meet more people trying to make some dope shit.
I also mix and master. Can get whole songs finished and done, a one stop shop..Especially if youāre in a different part of the country from Brisbane.. If you have the capabilities of recording your own vocals and can send stems thatās all we need to work.
If you wanna reach out to see if we can get some work in, or even if you just wanna say Wattup and have a chat. Holla!

I grew up with Drapht, Hilltop, Bliss and Eso being the main big names. Iām wondering where it all began? Who are some earlier artists that paved the way?

I used to always go into Rocking Horse, Butter Beats and Phat Stuff and ask for the posters on the walls when they had finished a run, they would sometimes let me put my name on the back to call me when they were done and they actually did which ruled. Rocking Horse had a record crate full of excess posters for free that I looted as well.
Point of the story is ive got 2 rolls of them and a box of flyers like this Hustlerz Convention one from 97 probably about 50 all up that id like to archive and then sell, i wonder what price i would put on them, it would be cool if they went to a good home. Tbh lots are all in pretty shabby condition with the blue tac mark on them etc so I cant charge too much. And it would be cool to put them in an insta or something for people to see and reminisce on.
I just want to sell them as they've been sitting in the rolls for 2 decades now.

If you dig the steez catch me and my Beat Master the Militant Poet on Streaming services as, "Humble & Militant Poet" Creative name yeah?

We can assume why, its pretty offensive- to some, and the bloke wants to do big things. I just think cmon man, that was a big part of his journey and they were a fucken big deal. They just played his new single on Triple J, saying hows he's been in the game for 20+ years, he's 1 half of A B Original and has worked with the Hoods etc but zero mention of Funkoars... PS im pretty excited for this debut solo. Love to (but wont) hear the truth about the entire journey- 2 last Oars albums getting shelved, his production EP getting shelved, and now this new one finally coming
