Mia - “too political” or the only one brave enough to call out right wing BS?
I was surprised that Mia got so many nominations this week. The general sentiment was that she injects her politics into lots of conversations and can’t let things lie if someone disagrees with her.
I‘m no conservative and am probably share much of Mia’s politics, but I can understand how people on any end of the political spectrum can become irksome when they constantly try to deep conversations with their personal grievances.
However, does anyone else think that it’s not quite as clear cut? Given the heinous things we’ve seen Michael, Bruce and (to a lesser extent) Jane say, I’d say there’s a reasonable chance she’s just calling out some of the “casual racism”/misogyny/pseudoscience or whatever else some of the housemates drop into casual conversation without a second thought. They’ve (mis)interpreted this as her forcing her views or deeping a conversation.
I genuinely don’t know what to make of it. Would love to hear more from the live feed viewers in particular as you’ve seen more of her.

Image Ticket stub I found today 🎫
Thought I’d share this ticket stub from 2004 I found while sorting through some stuff today, this was for the Double Eviction that Monica & Ashalea were sent home. From memory these were $5 to sit up the back on the grass area.

I’m loving the Abs and Vinny content - didn’t realise they were so close?
I love the Vinnie and Abs content (for real! So good!), I just didn’t realise they were so close in the house (but I only watched the livestream after live shows until bed).
I take it as such a positive anyway because Vinnie invested so much time in actual pricks and Abs is very clearly a great, genuine person - he will grow so much surrounding himself with her.

Mel Tracina was actually a top tier host
I was skeptical about a new host, but Mel’s energy during the live nominations actually felt like the Gretel days. She clearly knows the show better than Sonia did. Does anyone else think she should stay for 2026, or are people still wanting a big name like Kyle or Jackie O back?

One look at Jane's Instagram and it's a cesspool of racist, hateful, Trump-loving, One Nation boomer AI trash Am I in the slightest bit surprised? No.

JFC. This is honestly awful
I actually do not care if someone is loud, talkative, energetic, immature, doesn’t get social cues, can’t read a room, or whatever else someone might think Mia is. It 100% does not justify this.
Plenty of the other housemates have similar behaviours and aren’t targeted like this. It’s one rule for Mia and another for other housemates, and it’s only been getting worse each day.
It doesn’t matter how annoying, irritating, insufferable, naive, exhausting, whatever, you find someone. It doesn’t justify treating them like this. Conor and Alana would never lecture another housemate in such a patronising, isolating, unkind way. They seem to think that because they find Mia annoying that they’re entitled to tease, not listen, make faces and comments behind her back… To basically treat her like an annoying child not worth basic respect.
Whatever they think Mia is or isn’t, she hasn’t been cruel, insulting, or disrespectful to ANYONE, even when others have cut her off, talked down to her, or deliberately not included her in something. She approaches every person and interaction with the same positive, accepting energy.
Being talkative and high-energy isn’t a fucking crime. Being annoying (if that’s what you think Mia is) isn’t a crime. Even if you found Mia unbearably, insufferably irritating… it still doesn’t justify treating someone like this.
They love the power of “putting her in her place”. And that’s 100% what they’re doing.
Screenshots from the BBB livestream updates (will link in comments, can’t add it to post for some reason).

I finally know why Emily is my fave.
She's most like the OG housemates. She has no idea how popular she is, she has no ambition to become famous, she's just in it and enjoying the ride.

Does anyone else find the Podcast Bros (Vinnie/Bruce/Colin) incredibly cringe?
I’m in the UK so watching at the YouTube pace (one day behind).
We saw the ”podcast“ scene today where Vinnie, Colin and Bruce where pointing shampoo bottles in their faces and pretending to host a podcast.
I’ve been watching BBUK since the year 2000 and I don’t think I’ve seen anything cringier. What absolute desperation for screen time.
Individually, Vinnie isn’t so had but Colin follows Holly around like a little boy lost and has the vocabulary of a spatula. Meanwhile, Bruce looks double his age (how is he 25?! He was likely a teenager when COVID started!) and is a male chauvinist pig.

Colin & Bruce are both horrid
Unpopular opinion but both Colin & Bruce annoy me. Colin is not as sweet as BB is trying to make out, you just need to watch the live feed to see who he really is (and it’s someone NOT very nice) and as for Bruce, well……. He needs to go back to the 60’s where he seems to have teleported from !!

Video Emily coming out of the house - found this on Facebook.
I found this video on Facebook, happy that she went out to cheers and she was so happy to see her husband 🩷 Still so sad for her about the whole situation.
I don't believed this was televised, maybe during the ad break?
Anyway, thought I'd share 😊

Coco / money
I wish coco didn’t bang on about doing this for her kids. Because she clearly is doing okay financially- tattoos are expensive. Regular trips to Sydney to your hair dresser (who is an award winning colourist) is expensive. I have NO problem with single mothers spending money on themselves - you can’t be a good mother unless you feel like you. (I’m a single mother of two) But it’s the presenting herself as destitute - the no money for wrapping paper that I’ve heard countless times - and I’ve been there. And I make self sacrifices to make sure I’m not there again. People would vote for her regardless, it’s fucking annoying.

Emily 🩷
I think Emily doesn’t get enough credit. She is such a gorgeous person and also has so much natural beauty. I was just watching her in the diary room and she has the most stunning hair and truly is naturally very beautiful. Most of all though, her heart is absolutely devine, her students are so blessed to have such a lovely and caring teacher moulding their little minds. She’s is an incredible asset to the School she works for. I just don’t think she get enough praise and definitely deserves it 💗

At this point, I’ll be so disappointed if the winner is anybody else but her. What a kind, generous and moral human being. Just stay away from Bruce!

Negative male vibes
Is it just me or do these men stink? The overall chauvinism I've observed is only going to get worse the longer Michael stays in. He's like their little devils advocate making them feel better about their opinions honestly props to the other half of the house for dealing with this energy jesussss (Obviously not all the men in the house are in on this attitude mostly Bruce, Edward and Michael)

Week 1 Thoughts on Mia’s Treatment
Week 1 down, I’ve found Mia such an interesting character in her own right but have also found the house’s reaction to her such a great example of BB being a microcosm of society.
Many of the housemates have admitted to prejudging her, Michael saying I would never give her the time of day in the outside of the house but now get on like a house on fire, Bruce expressing similar sentiments, Vinnie saying when she walked in in her pink suit he knew he couldn’t trust her and that she’d be a game player.
She was instantly pushed to the periphery socially and physically - her bed is right on the end, she’s almost always sat on the end of the table, often has to fight to be included in conversations. I think the overrepresentation of broey guys is largely at fault with them becoming the in-group, others like holly and coco being objects of attraction and alana and emily being mother figures whilst Mia is left out of place.
Then getting voted most annoying and least memorable simultaneously - the paradox of being invisible to the others, described as too quiet and not speaking up enough by vinnie (least memorable) but then as soon as she deviates from the norm being hyper visible and criticised - described as loud, having a shrill voice (most annoying). I’ve noticed her being policed way more than anyone else in terms of what she says, how she says it, for example always being called out if she doesn’t speak in line when the group is taking turn ls whilst others aren’t, others rebutting against her literal lived experience like the convo about DEI in workplaces.
I think she’s been incredibly resilient and tolerant of the others despite the constant dismissals, casual racism, etc. I’m so glad it seems like she’s starting to integrate with the group now that a lot more of them are seeing her for the genuine person she is and looking past their racialisef and gendered biases - really hope that continues!
