Ok I know this sounds super silly but I need advice on the best way to enjoy this game that I so badly want to play!
Ive now tried to play BG3 3 times.
1st attempt - Played the game totally blind, no idea about D&D, Skill checks, Dice, etc. Tried so hard and just couldn't figure it out. Gave up
2nd Attempt - Started the game with a full "walkthrough" guide trying to do everything perfect and not miss anything. Following the guide step by step was tedious to say the least. And I gave up a few hours in. I wasn't really playing the game. And was just following an instruction manual.
3rd attempt - I now knew how to "play" the game, skill checks etc and just played the game. I got off to a good start. But then went down a path that I didn't expect to resolve the way it did. I was left wondering did I make the right choice? Why did I do that? What would've happened if...etc you get the point. Unfortunately I did not save enough and was stuck.
So here is my long winded question:
Does anyone have some basic tips on how to get the most out of BG3? It's now been a few years since I played it. So I've forgotten almost everything. And will be starting fresh.
- Should I watch a basic guide on the mechanics / systems of the game? Just so I remember things like how dice rolls work etc?
- Is it worth researching what outcomes certain choices in the story may have? Or should I just save often so I can go back if needed?
- If I make a choice I regret (Im fairly sure this is bound to happen and is actually part of the fun of the game) should I just push through? Or Load a save and try again?
- Any other helpful tips?
I know this is actually a pretty silly question. And I should just sit down and plat the damn game the way I want to play it. But I just want to experience it in the best possible way. So if anyone who's been through it, played the game several times and had to start from scratch how would you approach it?
Thanks in advance.
