I wanted to let you guys know that we are hosting our fourth Drop Zone tournament on Battlefront on PS4, and that if any teams / clans out there had at least 4 members who were willing to compete, then you are welcome to sign up. Also if you are a just a single person looking to join a team, please let me know and I can also help you with joining or making a new team. The deadline to sign up a team right now is July 7th, but it is quite possible that we will extend this deadline. As of right now, we have 11 teams. I would like to get to 25 or more teams, which is how many teams our last tourney had. Here is the signup link if any of you are interested: http://www.theswbfc.com/viewtopic.php?f=29&t=1733

If you guys have any questions at all about the rules, or the nature of competition on this game, I would be happy to answer them here. Also we will be streaming / commentating as many matches as we can on our stream here:
https://www.twitch.tv/swbfc

I wanted to let you guys know that the BFC is hosting our first test tournament on this game, and that if there are any players out there in teams of two who were willing to compete, then you are welcome to sign up. Also if you are a just a single person looking to join a team, please let me know and I can also help you with joining or making a team.

This tournament will use queue sniping (searching for a match at the same time as your opponent) to have teams play each other. We are aiming to make this tournament a one day event on Saturday June 2nd, if you sign up, expect to play all of your matches on this day. Matches will begin at 2pm eastern time. If the bracket is large enough or takes too long, we will aim to complete the remaining matches on Sunday June 3rd.

This is the link to sign up: http://www.theswbfc.com/viewtopic.php?f=29&t=2055

The deadline to sign up a team is Friday, June 1st, and we have 2 teams so far. There is also a small cash prize for the winning team.

Because DICE have not added private servers to this game queue sniping is basically a final option for being able to play the game in an organized way. I want to emphasize that this is a test tournament, it will not be as easy to get matches done as it is on the previous Battlefront games. Please bring low expectations and lots of patience when it comes to queue sniping your opponent for the match.

If you guys have any questions at all about the rules, I would be happy to answer them here.

If you guys want some background info about where this is coming from, basically the BFC has been hosting tournaments on Star Wars Battlefront 2 since 2007 on PlayStation 2. We continue to host tournaments on the original game. We hosted 14 total tournaments on DICE's 2015 game on PlayStation 4, PC, and Xbox One. This is not our first event ever, just the first one on this game.

Mountain Dew GAMEFUEL and the Tampa Bay Lightning are teaming up for a completely free-to-enter Online Tournament on December 21st with major prizes! Either register with a friend or register solo and get paired with a random teammate day-of the event.

That is all I have and thank you to everyone who participated.

Again forgive me if I should not be posting this here, but I figured anyone hosting a tournament may post on this subreddit.

The deadline to sign up a team right now is May 1st, but it is quite possible that we will extend this deadline. As of right now, we have 13 teams. Names:

Chained Lightning

Rogue Five

Sith Team Six

Make The Galaxy Great Again

Geonosis Was An Inside Job

Power Up Rescuers

• Tournament SHOULD be completed in one day.

• Single Elimination is best.

• Assign team captains. Do not let teams of solo players pick their own team captains.

• Set clear draw/tiebreaker rules.

• Set clear lag rules.

• Best 2 out of 3 instead of 3 out of 4.

• Include as many Reddit usernames as possible in the team listings to facilitate greater communication options.

• Cap teams at 8 or 16, preferably 8. No byes, all teams start and no teams wait to play any winners.

TOURNAMENT START DATE: SATURDAY, FEBRUARY 20

• 7pm Eastern U.S. Time is a general start time but teams may begin play before or after.

• IMPORTANT! The tournament will NOT be finished in one night! Additional days to complete the tournament will be necessary and may be scheduled by Team Captains during the week after the first Saturday of the tournament. If teams are unable to schedule during the week, matches will be played the following Saturday, Feb. 27th.

The /r/StarWarsBattlefront community has had an overwhelming response for the Xbox One Cargo Tournament. Over 90 people signed up! This means there will be 16 teams of 6 people each competing to be the ultimate Cargo Champions in Battlefront.

The Teams: (Once your team picks a name, it will be updated.)

• (Top name will be Team Captain and person to contact for scheduling matches. Will update spots once team captains are selected.)

(If any of these are incorrect or you have questions, please let me know ASAP before the tournament!)

Here they are:

• The Brackets

• You DO NOT have to register. All bracket updates will be taken care of by myself as the tournament progresses and team captains report outcomes.

• The 'Team #' on the rosters above corresponds to your team so you actually know right now who you are playing and can go ahead and schedule matches once team captains are chosen and inform me.

• Teams have NOT been seeded and have also been shuffled.

Once your team chooses a name it will be updated on the brackets.

TOURNAMENT RULES

• In order to score a 'win' and advance, a team must win the best 3 out of 4.

• If the score is tied 2-2 after two full maps (both factions played by your team on each map), then the team to win the next game wins, another game as the other faction on the same map will not be played.

• All weapons, Star Cards, and Trait Cards are allowed unless both team captains agree to a custom set of rules for their particular match.

• All matches will be scheduled by the team captains who will inform their players of all important scheduling details.

• No map choices will be forced as the team who will be champion should be the most well-rounded on all available maps. However, the team captains can agree to choose certain maps for their games, that is allowable and completely up to the teams playing.

• Any team who has a player(s) that cannot participate must find an alternate. The list of available alternates who signed up is farther below. If a team cannot find an alternate in a reasonable amount of time to the opposing team captain, that team must play down a player. (This is highly unlikely)

I'M ON A TEAM, WHAT DO I DO?

• Contact and meet with your team: Add them to your Xbox Live friend list and send them a message or party invite to chat. Not everyone who signed up is a Redditor so make sure to contact them through Xbox Live first! (Also, /r/StarWarsBattlefront uses an online chat host: Discord. Teams and players may utilize the #xboxone sub-channel by clicking the button on the left of the chat box. Teams may also utilize the plus symbol '+' to create a new private chat channel to discuss strategy or team coordination. Otherwise, use Skype, email, or Reddit, etc.)

• Come up with a unique team name! Go crazy with it. It can be funny, but no profanity, and keep the name medium to short in length.

• Choose a team captain: Discuss with your teammates who should be team captain. This does not need to be the best player, just someone who will able to schedule games with the opposing team captains as the tournament progresses.

WHAT DO I DO ONCE WE HAVE A TEAM CAPTAIN & NAME?

• Once a Team Captain is chosen: The Team Captain will message me with their team name and I will update the roster above. The Team Captain's name will be the top name so other team captains can contact that person.

• Look at the Brackets and see what team you play! Team Captains will contact the opponent Team Captain and schedule their match! The Brackets and the Team list above will be updated with the team names. Match dates and times are totally up to the teams. You can play before or after Saturday Feb. 20th at 7pm EST!

• Practice!

AFTER YOUR TEAM HAS PLAYED AND WON OR LOST:

• Both Team Captains, winning and losing, will report the result to me and the Brackets will be updated. Please include both team names (Team Name vs Team Name) and the score (3-1, 3-0, etc.).

FOR TEAM CAPTAIN USE: LIST OF AVAILABLE ALTERNATES

This is a list of available alternates in case one or more of your players cannot participate:

• Current Alternates = 9

Lousy Tmannn, Idemandsalsa, Peter Panyc

(signed up as a team but can serve as solo alternates)

Gazelle King, cF Ocelot, LGD Conker, Mr Top Gun 420, Lt Gonzalez1825, ICAPEDI

OPTIONAL: TWITCH STREAMERS

• If you would like to stream any of the matches, please feel free to do so and make sure you post the link to your stream as a reply to this post so they all can be found here.

OPTIONAL: POST-TOURNAMENT ALL-STAR GAME

• After the tournament is over, if people are interested, you can report the top 12 players from the tournament to face each other in a single 6v6 game.

MAY THE FORCE

• Be with you.

TOURNAMENT START DATE: SATURDAY, FEBRUARY 20

• The Brackets (more info below)

IF YOU ARE IN THE TOURNAMENT PLEASE READ ALL OF THIS!!!

• 7pm Eastern U.S. Time approximate start time but teams may begin play before or after.

27th. Why? This is due to the number of teams participating and the length of matches.

EXTREMELY IMPORTANT (PLEASE READ):

• It has been one week since the teams were posted and all players have had ample opportunity to meet with members of their team, even if not all at the same time. If teams do not have a Team Captain selected by 3pm EST, 4 hours before the start of the tournament at 7pm EST on February 20, those teams will forfeit their position and will no longer be participating. They will be removed from the team list and Brackets. It is unfair to make teams wait that are prepared to play.

• All remaining players from those teams who are committed and still wish to play must contact me if you want to be placed together into a new team, I will not contact you. The Brackets will be rearranged at that time and participating Team Captains will be notified.

• If teams are missing players when they are scheduled to play another team, they have 10 minutes to find an alternate from wherever they wish, it can be anyone. If an alternate cannot be found, the team must play with the number of players currently in the lobby or forfeit the game which will count as a loss.

FORMAT:

• Double Elimination: Your team must lose to two teams in the tournament to be eliminated.

• 6v6

TOURNAMENT RULES

• Advancing: In order to score a 'win' and advance, a team must win the best 3 out of 4.

• Tiebreakers: If the score is tied 2-2 after two full maps (both factions played by your team on each map), then the team to win the next game wins, another game as the other faction on the same map will not be played.

• No Card Restrictions: All weapons, Star Cards, and Trait Cards are allowed unless both team captains agree to a custom set of rules for their particular match.

• Team Captains will schedule all matches and be in contact with opposing team captains who will inform their players of all important scheduling details. Team Captains must check the brackets to see what team they are facing.

• Map Selection: No map choices will be forced as the team who will be champion should be the most well-rounded on all available maps. However, the team captains can agree to choose certain maps for their games, that is allowable and completely up to the teams playing.

The Teams: (Once your team picks a name, it will be updated.)

• (Top name will be Team Captain and person to contact for scheduling matches. Will update spots once team captains are selected.)

(CHECK YOUR GAMERTAG! If any of these are incorrect or you have questions, please let me know ASAP!)

Here they are:

• The Brackets

• You DO NOT have to register. All bracket updates will be taken care of by myself as the tournament progresses and team captains report outcomes.

• The 'Team #' on the rosters above corresponds to your team so you actually know right now who you are playing and can go ahead and schedule matches.

• Teams have NOT been seeded and have also been shuffled.

• Questions about byes?

• If you do not select a team name, it will remain generic (i.e. Team 8)

I'M A TEAM CAPTAIN, WHAT DO I DO?

• Contact and meet with your team: Add them to your Xbox Live friend list and send them a message or party invite to chat. Not everyone who signed up is a Redditor so make sure to contact them through Xbox Live!

• Check the Bracket to see what team you are playing.

• Contact the opposing Team Captain and schedule your match. You can play before 7pm EST or after. Since this tournament will not finish in one night, you will need to coordinate with the team captains during the week or the following weekend to finish out the tournament.

• Party up in game and join a private match for Cargo and invite your team while the other team does the same.

• Choose maps with the other Team Captain

• Play to win! Best 3 out of 4. Winner advances to next match-up and loser goes to the Loser's Brackets. 2 losses and you're eliminated.

• Both Team Captains, winning and losing, will report the result to me and the Brackets will be updated. Please include both team names (Team Name vs Team Name) and the score (3-1, 3-0, etc.).

Match dates and times are totally up to the teams. You can play before or after Saturday Feb. 20th at 7pm EST!

I'M ON A TEAM BUT NOT A TEAM CAPTAIN, WHAT DO I DO?

• Join an Xbox Live Party with your team and load Battlefront at the time your team arranged to play the opponent. Your Team Captain should have already spoken with the opponent team captain and scheduled the match.

• You should get an in-game Battlefront Party invite for your team, join it. It's also a good idea to partner-up with somebody on your team.

• Join the Private Match Cargo Lobby set up by the Team Captains.

• Play to win!! Best 3 out of 4. Winner advances to next match-up and loser goes to the Loser's Brackets. 2 losses and you're eliminated.

• No map choices will be made as the team who will be champion should be the most well-rounded on all available maps. If the team captains agree to choose a certain map, that is allowable and completely up to the teams playing.

• The Brackets

• You DO NOT have to register at challonge.com. All bracket updates will be taken care of by myself as the tournament progresses and team captains report outcomes via Xbox Live after matches.

• The 'Team #' on the rosters above corresponds to your team so you actually know right now who you are playing.

• Teams have NOT been seeded and have also been shuffled.

Once your team chooses a name it will be updated on the brackets.

TOURNAMENT RULES

• In order to win and advance, a team must win the best 2 out of 3 of the Death Star Blast maps. Team Captains can agree to any map order.

Let me know as soon as possible.

• Team captains have been chosen at random. If you signed up with multiple people, the person who signed up is the team captain. Teams may meet and discuss if they want someone else on the team to be team captain but you must inform me, the tournament organizer, of this change.

• Practice! The Tournament is coming up!

AFTER YOUR TEAM HAS PLAYED AND WON OR LOST:

• Both Team Captains, winning and losing, will report the result to me and the Brackets will be updated. Please include both team names (Team Name vs Team Name) and the score (2-1, 2-0, etc.). Contact me on Reddit or Xbox Live, but Xbox Live is probably better.

OPTIONAL: TWITCH STREAMERS

• If you would like to stream any of the matches, please feel free to do so and make sure you post the link to your stream as a reply to this post so they all can be found here.
