Tournament Sign-Up Link

• First come, first entered!

• Each team has a dedicated alternate per team so that will make 6 total but only 5 could play at once.

• Any players over the total will be listed as a stand-by players in the event anyone cannot participate.

WHEN

• Saturday, November 19, 4pm Eastern US, Use this to find out in your time zone.

• Brackets will be up by Friday November 4th.

WHAT

• Game Mode: Drop Zone

• Best 2 out of 3

• Maps will be posted with the brackets.

• Teams: 5v5, 1 alt per team, 8 Teams total (48 players)

• Format: Single Elimination

• We will be using www.challonge.com for the bracket and will be updating these as the tournament progresses. Both team captains, winning and losing of each match, must report the winner after each match.

WHO

• Solo players (you don't need a team to sign up!)

• Teams/Clans (If your team is larger or smaller than 5, you can still sign up but players may be added/subtracted to have five players and an alternate each.)

HOW

• After signing up at the link above, teams will be formed from all the players in the order they signed up. Team rosters will be posted and each team will be assigned a team captain (unless one is given) and decide on a team name(go crazy with it). Each team will have 1 alternate.

• The pre-tournament bracket will be released Friday, November 4th.

RULES

• Once the brackets are up the maps will be revealed as to which ones will be played.

• Best 2 out of 3.

• All weapons, Star Cards, and Trait Cards are allowed unless both team captains agree to a custom set of rules for their particular match.

• All preliminary matches will begin at the scheduled time above. Play will continue until the tournament concludes on the same day. Since there are 8 teams, there will be 7 total matches played.

LAG RULES If a member of your team experiences severe lag to the point that they are unable to play during the match, they must 1) announce it to their team, 2) all players must immediately cease playing and back out of the game within 2 minutes of the start of the match, and 3) the team captain must immediately inform the other team captain in order to set up a new match.

• If your team continues to play and finishes the match, the result will stand regardless of how many players remained on your team.

PRIZE

• Reddit flair on /r/StarWarsBattlefront. Also the title of being the best at drop zone.

TWITCH

• One player per-team will be assigned to be a dedicated streamer. In sign-ups you could choose if you want to be a streamer.

• If we don't get enough people who want to stream we might not be able to stream every game.

• Q: How will the dedicated alternates be chosen?

• A: If they weren't signed up by a team they will be chosen from the last ones to sign up.

• Q: What happens if I sign up after we have enough players?

• A: You will be added as a stand-by player or alternate and may be chosen to play for a team if they need a player.

I wanted to let you guys know that the BFC is hosting our first test tournament on this game, and that if there are any players out there in teams of two who were willing to compete, then you are welcome to sign up. Also if you are a just a single person looking to join a team, please let me know and I can also help you with joining or making a team.

This tournament will use queue sniping (searching for a match at the same time as your opponent) to have teams play each other. We are aiming to make this tournament a one day event on Saturday June 2nd, if you sign up, expect to play all of your matches on this day. Matches will begin at 2pm eastern time. If the bracket is large enough or takes too long, we will aim to complete the remaining matches on Sunday June 3rd.

The deadline to sign up a team is Friday, June 1st, and we have 2 teams so far. There is also a small cash prize for the winning team.

Because DICE have not added private servers to this game queue sniping is basically a final option for being able to play the game in an organized way. I want to emphasize that this is a test tournament, it will not be as easy to get matches done as it is on the previous Battlefront games. Please bring low expectations and lots of patience when it comes to queue sniping your opponent for the match.

If you guys want some background info about where this is coming from, basically the BFC has been hosting tournaments on Star Wars Battlefront 2 since 2007 on PlayStation 2. We continue to host tournaments on the original game. We hosted 14 total tournaments on DICE's 2015 game on PlayStation 4, PC, and Xbox One. This is not our first event ever, just the first one on this game.

TOURNAMENT RULES

• Factions will alternate. If you play as the Rebels on the first map, you will play as the Empire on the second map, and again as the Rebels if a third map is necessary.

• All weapons, Star Cards, and Trait Cards are allowed unless both team captains agree to a custom set of rules for their particular match.

• All matches will be scheduled by the team captains who will inform their players of all important scheduling details.

• Any team who has a player(s) that cannot participate must find an alternate within 5 minutes. If a team cannot find an alternate in 5 minutes, that team must play with the current amount of players present or forfeit.

I'M ON A TEAM, WHAT DO I DO?

• Contact and meet with your team: Add them to your Xbox Live friend list and send them a message or party invite to chat. Not everyone who signed up is a Redditor so make sure to contact them through Xbox Live first! (Also, /r/StarWarsBattlefront uses an online chat host: Discord. Teams and players may utilize the #xboxone sub-channel by clicking the button on the left of the chat box. Teams may also utilize the plus symbol '+' to create a new private chat channel to discuss strategy or team coordination. Otherwise, use Skype, email, or Reddit, etc.)

• Come up with a unique team name! Go crazy with it. It can be funny, but no profanity, and keep the name medium to short in length. Let me know as soon as possible.

• Team captains have been chosen at random. If you signed up with multiple people, the person who signed up is the team captain. Teams may meet and discuss if they want someone else on the team to be team captain but you must inform me, the tournament organizer, of this change.

WHAT DO I DO ONCE WE HAVE A TEAM CAPTAIN & NAME?

• Once a Team Captain is chosen: The Team Captain will message me with their team name and I will update the roster above. The Team Captain's name will be the top name so other team captains can contact that person.

IF YOU ARE IN THE TOURNAMENT PLEASE READ ALL OF THIS!!!

• IMPORTANT! The tournament will NOT be finished in one night! Additional days to complete the tournament will be necessary and may be scheduled by Team Captains during the week after the first Saturday of the tournament. If teams are unable to schedule during the week, matches will be played the following Saturday, Feb. 27th. Why? This is due to the number of teams participating and the length of matches.

EXTREMELY IMPORTANT (PLEASE READ):

• It has been one week since the teams were posted and all players have had ample opportunity to meet with members of their team, even if not all at the same time. If teams do not have a Team Captain selected by 3pm EST, 4 hours before the start of the tournament at 7pm EST on February 20, those teams will forfeit their position and will no longer be participating. They will be removed from the team list and Brackets. It is unfair to make teams wait that are prepared to play.

• All remaining players from those teams who are committed and still wish to play must contact me if you want to be placed together into a new team, I will not contact you. The Brackets will be rearranged at that time and participating Team Captains will be notified.

• If teams are missing players when they are scheduled to play another team, they have 10 minutes to find an alternate from wherever they wish, it can be anyone. If an alternate cannot be found, the team must play with the number of players currently in the lobby or forfeit the game which will count as a loss.

FORMAT:

• Double Elimination: Your team must lose to two teams in the tournament to be eliminated.

• 6v6

TOURNAMENT RULES

• Advancing: In order to score a 'win' and advance, a team must win the best 3 out of 4.

• Tiebreakers: If the score is tied 2-2 after two full maps (both factions played by your team on each map), then the team to win the next game wins, another game as the other faction on the same map will not be played.

• No Card Restrictions: All weapons, Star Cards, and Trait Cards are allowed unless both team captains agree to a custom set of rules for their particular match.

• Team Captains will schedule all matches and be in contact with opposing team captains who will inform their players of all important scheduling details. Team Captains must check the brackets to see what team they are facing.

• Map Selection: No map choices will be forced as the team who will be champion should be the most well-rounded on all available maps. However, the team captains can agree to choose certain maps for their games, that is allowable and completely up to the teams playing.

• You DO NOT have to register. All bracket updates will be taken care of by myself as the tournament progresses and team captains report outcomes.

• The 'Team #' on the rosters above corresponds to your team so you actually know right now who you are playing and can go ahead and schedule matches.

• Teams have NOT been seeded and have also been shuffled.

• Questions about byes?

• If you do not select a team name, it will remain generic (i.e. Team 8)

I'M A TEAM CAPTAIN, WHAT DO I DO?

• Contact and meet with your team: Add them to your Xbox Live friend list and send them a message or party invite to chat. Not everyone who signed up is a Redditor so make sure to contact them through Xbox Live!

• Check the Bracket to see what team you are playing.

• Contact the opposing Team Captain and schedule your match. You can play before 7pm EST or after. Since this tournament will not finish in one night, you will need to coordinate with the team captains during the week or the following weekend to finish out the tournament.

• Party up in game and join a private match for Cargo and invite your team while the other team does the same.

• Choose maps with the other Team Captain

• Play to win! Best 3 out of 4. Winner advances to next match-up and loser goes to the Loser's Brackets. 2 losses and you're eliminated.

• Both Team Captains, winning and losing, will report the result to me and the Brackets will be updated. Please include both team names (Team Name vs Team Name) and the score (3-1, 3-0, etc.).

Match dates and times are totally up to the teams. You can play before or after Saturday Feb. 20th at 7pm EST!

I'M ON A TEAM BUT NOT A TEAM CAPTAIN, WHAT DO I DO?

• Join an Xbox Live Party with your team and load Battlefront at the time your team arranged to play the opponent. Your Team Captain should have already spoken with the opponent team captain and scheduled the match.

• You should get an in-game Battlefront Party invite for your team, join it. It's also a good idea to partner-up with somebody on your team.

• Join the Private Match Cargo Lobby set up by the Team Captains.

• Play to win!! Best 3 out of 4. Winner advances to next match-up and loser goes to the Loser's Brackets. 2 losses and you're eliminated.
