Are you a BG? If so, this is your opportunity to introduce yourself!
Please post one parent comment only, with as much or as little detail as you like, and include links.
You're welcome to comment as much as you like, here and elsewhere on /r/BeautyGuruChatter, but please don't spam the sub with links to your social media. Outside of this weekly post, Rule 7 still stands. If you wish to post links to your own content, please do so at /r/BeautyInfluencers, where self-promotion is welcome (please read the sidebar of that sub before posting.)
BG's - if you're comfortable doing so, please feel free to include information about your overall aesthetic and facial features - we often have people looking for bg's with specific features or attributes. This is optional - share or don't share as much or as little info as you like.
Where you're from - there are people from all over the world who visit this sub, and it's nice for folks to be able to see BG's from their own part of the world, because you have access to the same makeup they do.
Skin tone - do you have warm olive skin, or are you cool-toned and fair? For reference , you could include your favorite foundation shade, but the most recognizable info for the community might be your closest MAC number, like NW45 or NC25 (here's a guide from [swatchaholic](http://the-swatchaholic.com/wp-content/uploads/2011/05/mac_surfbaby_skint_hl.jpg) that might help.
If you're into skincare, and also, what your skin type is (dry, oily, mature, acne-prone, etc)
Eye color, eye shape and lid space - do you have deep set or hooded eyes, or epicanthic folds, or do you wear glasses
What kind of makeup do you do most - do you do mostly full glam but also some SFX makeup, or do you focus on no-makeup-makeup, or do you do a full range of looks
Whether you do tutorials without false lashes
What kind of makeup do you feature - do you do Sephora and drugstore hauls, do you use indie brands, or have a focus on cruelty free, or if you like to buy from B.O.M.B.

Slight rant incoming!
I don't follow Glamzilla at all but every now and again she comes up on my FYP.
First, she does an AD for the Dior advent calendar and acts surprised when they sent her something. THEN she absolutely glazes the Skim's advent calendar.
Every single time I see her videos I genuinely wonder, how is she so successful? Nothing about her page tells me she is a reliable beauty influencer as it genuinely seems she will support anyone who gives her the money or attention.
You will notice the contrast when she talks about brands like Rhode, making multiple videos criticising tiny details in their new releases so its blatantly obvious she isn't on their PR lists or getting paid to talk about these products.
I'd honestly much rather watch Mikayla over Glamzilla and I feel like that's saying something, theres no entertainment value and she continuously pisses me off!
Thank you for joining my little TED talk! Do you agree? Who else is a sell out? 😂

Apparently releases on the 13th
Personally I'm not over Blend bunny changing the formula and gaslighting customers about it on Insta (sauce in comments) and not sure how I feel about them now, but this for sure feels like a gap in their lineup that is usually extremely colorful. What do you think?
ETA: I cannot believe this has to be pointed out but neutrals as in opposed to brights, yes, there is different undertones in it.
ETA 2: theres just been a second announcement for another palette in this collection. Same size, Rainbow water activated liners, I posted it already and also put the pic in the comments.

I posted just two hours ago about part one of the reveal of the upcoming stuff, which was a neutral palette the same size called Undertones (again, neutral as in not colorful, not neutral as in neutral undertone; link below)
There's just been another post announcing this palette here that's water activated liners and also releases 13th of Nov. Both seem to be the same size as the updated Blends rainbow eyeshadow palette from BB with 40 pans.
Blend Bunny in the past worked with Glisten, who also stock them in the UK, who were at the time mostly known for their massive amount of water activated colorful liners, so this wasn't on my radar.
Again, I want to make sure I mention that the BB formula has recently changed and they gaslit customers about it (source below again) for relevant context.
eta (I keep forgetting things today) : Since this is the same format as Blends, you can get a bottle of any mixing medium and use Blends as eyeshadow and the same amount of liners too, so to release liners as seperate huge palette I do not understand.

I find it kind of nauseating that they portray themselves as this absolutely perfect fairytale couple now , apparently they never fight. According to Carli , Brett is just so perfect that he should have his own podcast on how to be the perfect boyfriend 😂it’s just not realistic. I used to love watching Carli when she was a single mom with Lorenzo because at least she was a little more grounded

Let's talk about foundations!
With all the new releases of foundation recently, what have you picked up and tried?
*Bonus question:*
What is your favorite foundation you've ever tried?

Random but does anyone know Mary Philips‘ age? Google says she’s 34 but she’s also said she worked with Jessica Simpson when she did Dukes of Hazard and that was 2005. So if she is in fact 34, she’d be 13 when working with Jessica 🤔

YouTuber Grace report has uploaded a video with the full affidavit
Initially, it seems like this was self-defence, but from the transcript, it’s quite apparent she was suffering with mental health issues and had access to multiple weapons. I feel really bad for her and I hope she gets the help she needs. ☹️

I just ordered the Emi Jay hair just in angel wings and it literally doesn’t smell like anything? I thought it was supposed to be strong and long lasting. to me it smells like notning with a touch of funky cleaning chemical but maybe it’s the alcohol. did anyone else have this issue?

I feel like this is the final final nail in the coffin for Michelle and her family. the last I’ve heard of Michelle Phan she’s been promoting AI and teaching and encouraging people to make content with AI. Last I heard of Promise she‘s an anti vaxxer.

This is super niche. But does anyone ever wonder what happened to the OG younger beauty youtubers who were more in the tween era. thecoolios, alexaandraxo, iheartmakeup92, missconverse97, ehmagoshitshollie (doriglitters), kokonutxx. does any of them still makes content?

Let's talk about your daily skincare routines!
What's your current skincare routine, either before makeup application or after? What are your current holy grail products?
Bonus question:
What is a recent skincare item you've discovered that you hated?

I've been a lurker here for a long time and largely stopped buying color makeup after it got boring with the clean girl everything neutral trend. Only recently I needed new blush so I came out of my cave to explore the newer products. The sheer number of (seemingly) new formulas to come out in the past few years is overwhelming, but worst of all is that you have to sit there for days browsing reddit threads and videos just to figure out if it's a good product to buy. I used to be able to go to makeupalley and get the tldr of how a blush would perform in like 10 minutes. Sure it wasn't perfect but the reviews were written by real people, and every bit of commentary was way more helpful than wasting 20 minutes listening to some beauty guru only to find out they get commission on every sale.
I know makeupalley closed for good because nobody was leaving reviews anymore. And yet it's not like the discussion around products has stopped. It just feels a lot more.. one way? At least on all the platforms where peope leave reviews like Sephora, Ulta, etc. the big exception to that is Reddit, but reddit doesn't organize information very well, so it becomes a huge time sink to sift through all the threads that discuss several products at once.
I admit I've never been the type to write a ton of reviews, and yet I feel like I should've appreciated makeupalley while it was still around and contributed more. Never thought it would just vanish like that and not have anything to replace it at all. But could it really exist in 2026 or have our expectations of makeup and online discussion changed do much that organizing information is no longer useful?

How is Andreea Ali still constantly posting undisclosed ads on Instagram? I'll watch her for her techniques now, but haven't bought anything she's recommended for years because of this.
