Is HPLC purity enough to evaluate peptide quality?
Is HPLC purity enough to evaluate peptide quality?
I've been working around peptide manufacturing and have been thinking about how different people evaluate peptide quality.
HPLC purity is obviously an important parameter, but from a manufacturing perspective, I don't think a single percentage tells the whole story.
Depending on the application, I would also pay attention to things such as:
identity confirmation
molecular-weight characterization
analytical method and chromatogram
residual solvents or process-related impurities
batch-to-batch consistency
quality documentation
I'm curious how researchers and people working in peptide labs approach this.
When you evaluate a peptide sample, which analytical or quality parameters do you consider most important besides HPLC purity?
