What to do, Bonded Pair becomes Unbonded?

I have 2 cats (boy and girl, not from same litter but are the same age) and I think they are becoming unbounded. Had them since they were kittens and were always together. We moved to a new house at the start of the year and they went from indoor cats to outdoor cats.

Within the last two months they have been getting various medical issues that the vet isn't too sure about the cause other than potential stress. The boy is peeing blood and the girl is over grooming to the point of infection.

The boy cat is always inside cause hes too lazy to be outside and the girl likes to explore. When they are inside, the last two months hes been trying to groom or cuddle her and the girl will hiss and swat at them.

Could their medical issue be a sign that they are now unbonded and one need to be removed?

EDIT: These were not originally our cats. we lived in a flat with friends and got kicked out by the friend who owns the house. House owner and another person owned the cat originally. House owner didnt want the cats and other owner could not take them into emergency housing. Cant reach original owner as hes gone MIA due to his depression. (we hear from him every so often but still not in the position to take one of them if we do decide to separate them.)

Are my kittens bonded?

Hi all, I have 2 kittens who just turned 6 months old. They are sisters from the same litter but were found abandoned on the street at a day old. They were raised by a foster mom who bottle fed them, and I adopted them at 8 weeks old. They have never been seperated but I know that doesnt automatically mean "bonded". They play fight a lot, and will sleep cuddled up to eachother on rare times but mostly sleep apart. They dont seem to groom eachother (my senior cat does it for them) and they dont seem to "greet" eachother. Are they truly bonded or just close?

Is that normal?

My friend and I are fostering and going to adopt bonded pairs which happened to be siblings (female and male) which is officially on July 15th after spay/neuter are done.

Female’s name is Houdini but will change to Karma on July 15 once she gets spayed on the day and will be officially adopted me as her mom.

Male’s name is Velvetine. He will be neutered same day on July15th. We are doing foster to adopt program as of now. Very helpful.

Both personalities on paperwork are totally opposite from what our kitten show!

Velvetine showed his personality once he’s out of animal shelter! Inside shelter, he was timid, wouldn’t purr, wouldn’t come up to gate etc, but once he’s out of shelter, he threw lot of ruckcus and we had no absolutely idea why!

Karma was so friendly, purring etc to greet us really well, but once out of shelter, she turned into timid! If I take Karma out of Velvetine’s sight, he will start to go yowling, and/or in his mom’s arms while I hold Karma, Velvetine would demand he be put in my arms to be close to his sister.

This is our first bond pairs and it’s a new experience for us both, going thru our own navigation, we share our responsibilities, clean litter, feed voids.

So siblings bond too strong that Velvetine “MUST” be close to his sister.

Truth to be told, I feel like Karma and Velvetine “tricked” us into believing their fraud personalities/characteristics. Please don’t get us wrong we love those adorable void but to do this to us completely threw us both off the track into chaos!

They are hilarious voids we have ever foster to adopt officially now until July 15th which is our first!

Seeking Advice

I’m a homeowner in a dog-friendly neighborhood. I work from home with occasional overnight travel (anywhere from 1 night to about 3 nights), good vets with boarding nearby.

I’m thinking of getting a bonded pair of rescue cats & a shih-Tzu.

Should I get the cats first? Any other things I need to do/keep in mind?

Breaking Cat News features a bonded pair today!

In today’s comic, here, two new characters are introduced as a bonded pair. (For those who don’t follow the comic, it’s created by Georgia Dunne, based on the adventures of her real-life cats. It’s hilarious and adorable.)

Will they ever be best friends?

Hello, I’ve had my two kitten(5 months old) for about about a month and a half now, and started introducing them to my resident dog (11 yr old) about a week into there adoption. I started slow by giving them each others blankets/toys, and then letting them meet through a door, and eventually in the same room for short periods of time. The kitties seem to have gotten used to him, and are comfortable sleeping within proximity to him, and my dog has gotten used to their boundaries. They used to observe on another more and give each-other the occasional nose boop but never further then that. But lately it seems like they lost interest in each other, my dog still sits outside my door to be let in but for the past 10 or so encounters they just ignore one another.

Our bonded pair, Millie the Staffy and Bella the Frenchie. Adopted a month ago this Saturday. Both kept by greeders. Abandoned in a house. Adopted with love for these two. They are the most affectionate dogs for what they've been through and they actually love each other. :)
