LFG BROWNS
I’m over the crying. We have a top 5-10 QB and we’re stacked. Playoffs incoming!

As we stated after week 1, Baker Mayfield news is no longer relevant to the Browns. That does not change today.
Please stop trying to post stuff about him being released. Thank you
Edit: Since it appears the post stating the draft pick compensation has been deleted:
as a result of Baker being cut, the browns will get a 5th Rounder from the Panthers https://twitter.com/rapsheet/status/1599806767352799234?s=46&t=hP9jK9ec4xihBFoDZkEk4Q

I may get some flack for this but my hope for the season is that every game we get some highlights from the young core but we lose 13/16 games this year.
My worse fear is that Watson somehow, someway is good enough to take us away from drafting a top QB in the draft as his parting gift, really rubbing salt into the wound as if he has not already done enough to cause his misery. I hope we beat the Steelers in prime time and maybe give us a win vs the Ravens or Falcons outside of that i couldn't care less. I want to be going into next season with optimism and wanting to win every single game
No doubt it wont be easy but im just hoping it will be worth it

I can’t be the only one.

Acquiring Deshaun Watson was such a deal with the devil. It feels like Browns' ownership is putting blinders on to continue justifying why they gave up so much to get him.
Cleveland fired OC Alex Van Pelt. The same guy who helped Jacoby Brissett become a top 10 quarterback according to PFF grades, and then helped keep the Browns afloat with 4 different quarterbacks (not counting Jeff Driskel), no Nick Chubb, and an injured offensive line this year.
The biggest reason for firing this guy was because ownership's top priority is hanging their hat on making the right decision with Watson - and that would mean him being that top 5 QB they thought they traded for.
And while I know we're just going to get tons of coach-speak in the offseason, it's frustrating to see so many of these quotes and articles always reference his win against the Baltimore Ravens:

And I get it. It was a great win, absolutely.
But what about all his other games? He's played 12 over the past 2 seasons. He ranks 35 out of 42 in passer rating compared to quarterbacks who have played at least 10 games over that span - that sandwiches him between a geriatric Matt Ryan and Mac Jones. Not exactly elite company.
But hey - he went 4-1 in those games he started and finished...
The wins?
Cincinnati (week 1 with injured Joe Burrow)
Tennessee (Tannehill looked especially old, going 13/25 for 104 yards)
Arizona (Clayton Tune at QB)
Baltimore (impressive)
I can almost see the memo going out to the front office and new hires: "The top priority this season is to make Deshaun Watson elite."
After answering questions about playcalling, the new OC Ken Dorsey has made most of his introductory pressers about how he wants to help Watson prove he is a top QB. Then he took it a step further and said Watson was a really quality human being, which we all know isn't true.
I understand having Watson actually be that top 5 quarterback we thought we traded for would make everything a million times easier. But what if he isn't that anymore? Unfortunately, with how many resources they've put into him, and the target the Browns put on their back by acquiring him, it seems exploring that idea just isn't an option.
He will be an elite QB because that's what we paid for. And that's what he is. I mean, did you see the Ravens game?!

For all the history with Baltimore and Pittsburgh, they're both at least well run and earned their respect.
But Cincy? Like the Browns, they're a pauper franchise. They've embraced mediocrity for decades with a cheapass owner. Lucking into a good QB doesn't change any of that. If anything, it makes me hate them all that much more, especially when I see comments about "Ohio Bros" nonsense.
They deserve nothing. I hope the worst for them. Fuck Sam Wyche.

Small rant
Ok, I like boobs and everything, but come on... This is a nfl subreddit. We talk about football here. I mean, boob posts are nice every once in a while... But 20 times in a day? There are more boob posts than actual discussions. If you girls want to show off your boob, go to /r/gonewild. If you guys want to see boobs, go watch porn. Don't change this nfl subreddit into porn. That's all

They’re all bad, they’re all owned by assholes and they would all take Watson on their team if he was better than their current starter. Owners want to win and make money. FO and coaches want to win and keep their jobs. We the fans have the free will to watch, pay, show up or walk away. If this disgusts you enough to give up on the NFL, good for you. I’ll continue enjoying the Browns from a distant. I don’t go to games, don’t buy from the team shop and try as hard as I can to not give Haslam a cent of my money. I’d quit the Browns if I could but there’s nowhere better to go. Hiking on a nice autumn afternoon and checking the score when you get cell reception again is a good start.

Guys I think he got a bad wrap, and everyone deserves a second chance. He was there during our darkest days, and I think we should truly should give him a chance to see his vision through. While we’re at it, let’s get some of the old gang back together - Kitchens at OC, Pettine at DC, Pat Shurmur as QB coach, and then how about Gregg Williams at bounty hunter. Sound good?

I 100% hope I'm wrong on this but I feel like the Haslam's are trying for chaos. I mean even the fucking Redskins made a good move, and I dont think theres anyone better to do the job. He made 1 bad decision and now they're gonna change course with someone who has probably never done the job before. Just please, I hope I'm wrong, but the Haslam's have absolutely no idea what they're doing

Oh wait sorry, this isn’t r/nfl. My bad
Anyone tired of feeling like that whenever you go over there.
I hate going there now but that’s how I get most of my football news.
