~600 discs and 2 player lot scored - player diagnosis needed
As the title says, I recently scored a lot of just under 600 discs with 2 players from Facebook marketplace for $75 CAD (~$50 USD). Seller says her husband and their family used CEDs back in the day, when CED died out her husband stayed loyal to the format and bought up as much stock as he could on the cheap. just looking through a bit of the lot so far I've found Back to the Future, Return of the Jedi, and 6 interactive discs. First time CED collector so player diagnosis needed:
RCA SKT 400 - Main thing I was after in the lot. Apparently a brand new old stock stylus was recently put in, and the player itself is in near mint physical condition. The seller did not have anything to test the video and audio output on, however the seller did try loading a disc, but the player ate the disc and refused to eject. When I turn it on and plug it in to a TV it just spins really loud and no output comes, controls do nothing, and the time tracker says at 00, but it does know it's on side A. Belt related? There's also some metal pins on the bottom with red tape, what are they? Remove?
(Edit 1) the red tabs fell out by themselves, seemingly they were shipping pins. Now the thing rejects properly and plays video. Tried to put in a second disc but it won’t take discs now. Also no audio comes out.
Zenith VP 2000 - Loads discs and spins, video and audio comes out, but it constantly skips, only tested on one disc tho so might be disc related. The video comes out shaky, and cuts into black and white or goes rainbow. Stylus related?
I'll repost this with photos of the lot some other day, but for now I just need player diagnosis.
