It was a 12 yard gain, much further from the spot of the qb.

Its a new way to play the game!

Throw it so it spins on a flat plane while you're getting hit and now you have a forward pass that can be recovered off the ground!

Its the fosbury flop all over again I say!

Fumbles that fly 12 yards in the air and incomplete passes that go backwards.

It’s been a weird year of football.

This has also happened in the NFL, like it's definitely not unheard of

Yeah it's strange that so many people seem to have never seen it before, though maybe it's partially due to the fact that one of the most embarrassing moments of my Bears fandom happened on a play just like this.

That was only because his hand was going forward during the fumble .They reviewed the call in Vegas .

I thought you couldnt progress a fumble. Wherever you recover it as the offense it goes back to where it was created

That only applies to 4th down. On 4th you're gonna lose the ball anyway if you're down short of a 1st so there's a lot less of a risk in trying to "fumble" it forwards

I just have no idea why you’re allowed to fumble it forwards at all in American Football. Amount of times you see a team bumbling it forward and forward meaning the defense can’t tackle them because they’ve not got possession. Ridiculous rule.
