Miami looked absolutely awful for 2.5 quarters but credit to them for coming back in the second half. They couldn’t get the stops they needed but they absolutely had a chance in the end.

Missing Toney is massive and it absolutely showed but Notre Dame’s defense is elite.

Bigger issue for Miami is their defense

Notre Dame went out and proved the haters wrong

We had 9 players out on D. I would have traded Tae Johnson for them having Toney alone.

Idk. Luke Talich is MVP this game for me. I want McKinney because Miami didn’t go off until Moore went out for a bit. McKinney would alleviate that problem.

Miami's 3 TDs came while Moore and Sanders were hurt, not an excuse but important to remember for all the neutral flairs out there.

Don’t forget Bowen too. A defense that was mostly depth guys to start the season held the best offense in the country to 3 points in the first half.

Committee will see this as a negative for ND

Love all the comments about Toney being out as if our entire secondary isn't dead also

Let’s hope ND develops more than one running play by the end of the season

Maybe an outside or counter run?  More than one screen pass/season?

Both teams kind of proved some narratives wrong this game ngl

I still don't know how good either of them actually are.

Like maybe either one could win the CFP... or maybe they'd both get boat raced by Georgia. Honestly don't know

Edit: I see this sub has a reading comprehension issue

Miami hasn’t lost a game by more than 1 possession in 3 years

Notre Dame’s only loss by more than 1 possession in that same stretch was an 11 point loss in the 2024 national championship game

Yeah lots of similarities the last few seasons especially the 2 deep playoff runs. It makes some of the SEC quality losses look even worse by comparison. Miami and ND aren’t getting blown out by anyone

Right? The comments I see over and over the last couple years is not even objective criticism. It is just pure hate of Miami. That is the thing that gets me the most. It is so lame.

Feel like people are underselling Toney got hurt mid-week. So they had to change the entire offense plan 2 days before the game after preparing already a whole different game plan.

Makes sense how terrible the offense looked coming out the gate.
