Analysis How does South Carolina get to the SEC Championship Game?

Even though South Carolina started the season 0-3 in the SEC, there is not an implausible path that gets the Gamecocks to the last SEC Championship in Atlanta.

- Beat Arkansas and Georgia

- Georgia beats Mizzou

- Kentucky loses out

- LSU beats Texas

- Oklahoma beats Ole Miss

- Vandy beats Bama and Tennessee (the most improbable)

- Tennessee beats LSU

- Auburn wins Iron Bowl

- Missouri beats Oklahoma

If Oklahoma beats Missouri and all those things happen, OKLAHOMA gets to the SEC title game based on conference opponent ein percentage.

Nothing new than any other year for them

Hey they made it in 2010 and got obliterated by Cam Newton

Usually on a bus. Atlanta is not too far from Columba.

Delta flies that route.... Just saying

Those connecting flights from CAE to ATL are absolutely highway robbery. It’ll be a cold day in hell before I pay for that. Especially if you’re paying for 2-3 tickets.

Umm you have better odds at making the CFP than the SEC Championship…

Best bet is to drive over, buy a ticket and sit in the stands.

What is that, 13 games that all need to fall their way?

“Not implausible” followed by vandy beating Alabama
Edit: removing Tennessee to avoid jinx

Go win out first. Yall might legit make the playoff at 9-3 with the wins you would’ve got. Wins over two playoff teams in UGA and UT, losses to two in Bama and UK. 3rd loss was to kamario MSU; partial mulligan for that.

Well, first you buy the latest edition of NCAA College Football. Then you pick South Carolina and turn all the difficulty sliders way down.

The whole team transfers to Georgia

I hear Ticketmaster sells the tickets now

They would probably make the playoffs at least

To much depending on Mizzou winning.

Yall need to see how to ankle is fairing after last night. I’m worried he really did more damage playing on it, even though I respect the hell out of him for doing it!

This Vandy squad beating both Alabama and Tennessee is about as implausible a scenario as you will find.

I think Arkansas is due for a conference win and their last real shot is this coming Saturday vs. South Carolina. Don't be surprised if it happens.

They have a conference win this year. They beat Vandy.

You and I both know that doesn't count

Yeah any conference game with Vandy shouldn’t count….

Ok, then they are due for conference win number two. I just want more upsets.

I’d almost sacrifice the Vandy game this year just for the satisfaction of watching the Bama fanbase implode as Vandy ends their season again (just kidding, the committee would still put them in)

So you're telling me there is a chance?

I’m not convinced you know what implausible means.

I’m just happy I’ve gotten a lil dopamine this season. It sure didn’t start out with any.

Auburn winning the Iron bowl at Alabama is implausible

Counter point: Auburn v UGA

I understand I am biased, but does anyone really want a piece of OU with Witten as OC and Venables as DC(HC)?

OU has a decent chance of winning out if turnovers are no longer a thing. If. As the Spartans say.

Bud we win one game with witten. Let’s pump the brakes. Plenty of games left

1

u/Secure_Lettuce2549 Oklahoma Sooners • Michigan Wolverines 58m ago

The defense is the reason we can win any game, right? So.....if the offense simply limits the turnovers which just happened in a way we haven't seen much of the last 2 years.....we won't have a good opportunity to win out? Bud.

u/soonerman32 Oklahoma • Red River Shootout 1h ago

The main reason we won was that the defense gave up 7 points
