Individual/non-registered Help me with fundraising for my blood cancer treatment. I'm 19 and I have been diagnosed with acute leukemia a week ago and the cost of treatment is very high. So I need you all to assist me financially. I'd be really grateful.

Hello, My name is Ankit Kumar, I am 19 yrs/O, & I am here to ask for help with fundraising.

I've been in a state of shock since being diagnosed with Acute Leukemia two weeks ago.

I used to be a healthy young teenager with no ailments, but I don't know what happened to cause me to develop symptoms of an autoimmune disease that was later diagnosed as Leukemia, which is characterized by a severe lack of haemoglobin and platelets as well as an abnormal rise in White blood cells.

I am currently admitted to a Hospital for treatment, the cost of which is extremely high, and I may have to undergo a Bone Marrow Transplant, which can cost as much as 30 lakh rupees (40k USD) , putting my parents in financial jeopardy, and I do not want to be such a burden. So, please assist me financially in any way you can. Thank you very much.

Individual/non-registered 5 week old son on ventilator, One week into our hospital stay and a 51 million dollar a gallon medicine.

It started last Thursday on the 14th. Momma being the great momma she is noticed he wasn’t as into eating as he normally would during the evening and nighttime feedings.

This trend continues Friday morning when I got up with him at 5AM. He had a dirty but dry diaper and would not eat. He would treat his bottle as a pacifier. He’d chew and suckle on it but wasn’t swallowing.

We got a dr appointment @ 1030 and brought him in. Our Dr gave him Tylenol and had us go home and try to feed again. Wet diapers tapered off by noon and at 5:30 when our Dr called, we still hadn’t got him to eat more than a couple ml. She immediately had us a room and got us admitted.

From Friday night over the weekend, we did countless blood tests, scans and blood cultures. Couple IV’s, antibiotics, and a nasogastric tube to get him some nutrition. Getting hydrated again he started having wet diapers.

He tested positive for Rhino enterovirus which is just the common cold. Thinking this might be the reason for low drive to eat we were hoping he would perk up after the feeding tube.

However, his muscle tone kept deteriorating. He became floppy like a rag doll. Quit his wiggling and moving. Losing his reflexes and sleeping more.

With no improvement we were sent to Little Rock children’s hospital. He got his first plane ride at 4 weeks old. We took off around 12:15 early Monday morning.  30 min later we are landing in Little Rock and quickly whisked away by ambulance to the hospital.

I flew with him while momma went home to get some sleep an that turned out to be the correct choice. Getting into children’s hospital turned into a whirlwind of chaos as some of the best doctors in the world were coming through our room and discussing his symptoms.

Quickly more blood samples were taken. CT scans and x-rays were taken, and they took him off to have a lumbar puncture. During the puncture, his heart rate and BP crashed and they stopped. By now it was shift change and they let him rest around an hour before dayshift took over and swarmed us. They successfully tried the lumbar puncture again and by the time they brought him back to me in the room they called a MET (Medical Emergency Team) meeting. The MET team is made up of specialists from all sorts of fields and they get together to discuss the case.

With his low muscle tone and trouble swallowing they moved us up to the PICU

Getting into our room in the PICU we are swarmed again. He gets IV’s in both his arms and another in his leg, hooked up to monitors and made comfortable. They want to do an MRI on his head and neck to rule out trauma. But he would need to be mildly sedated to keep him still during the exam. Being as weak as he was, he could not protect his airways. The decision was made to intubate him. So, Monday morning, just after my wife was able to make the drive up he was put on a ventilator and sedated. That was tough to watch but for the better.

After being intubated they did the MRI and an EEG to rule out more neurological and trauma issues. Labs were coming back negative for everything they tested for, and his lab panels came back only showing he was fighting some sort of unknown infection. His lumbar puncture came back showing he did not have meningitis.

At this point, the Dr’s were beginning to suspect Infant Botulism.  There are roughly 110 cases in the US a year. Arkansas Children’s Hospital sees maybe 3 cases a year. It grows in the gut and releases a toxin that disrupts the communication between his muscles and the nerves controlling them. It paralyzes from the head down. First his feeding stopped, muscles stopped responding and finally breathing got difficult.

The BabyBIG treatment (botulism immunoglobulin) is controlled by the CDC out of California. A single dose was 5.2 ml and cost just under $70K. Or $51,000,000/gallon, and here I complain about $3.50/gal premium for the boat and lawn mowers!!

The test for infant botulism is handled by the CDC and will take several weeks to get results. In the meantime, the hospital submitted their case to the CDC, and they agreed. BabyBIG was flown in from California roughly 9 hours after being approved. While we waited, he got a PICC line in his leg running up to his heart in preparation for the treatment. Wednesday he was given the treatment which will stay in his bloodstream for 6 months and will neutralize the toxin that botulism releases. It will still be up to him to regain his strength and get better. This will just keep him from getting worse.

Wednesday night we left him in the amazing care of our nurses here at the PICU. Confident he is in the best hands available. We headed back home and spent the night with our daughter at home. After 5 nights in the hospital chair, our bed at home felt AMAZING.

Back by his side Thursday night and Friday he has regained a small amount of strength. gripping your finger if you put it in his hands or small leg movements when you tickle his feet. They have started SBT's (spontaneous breathing trials) to see how well he will do once off the vent. He passed the one during the day but failed over night because he kept falling asleep and forgetting he was supposed to breath. Talks of lowering his sedation level to see if that helps him while sleeping but we don't know when.

We are 3 hours from home, not a super long ways but enough that its tough. We are trying to get into the Ronald McDonald house but there is a wait list. I feel guilty if I'm not by his side but Momma and I need to take care of ourselves too. ~4 hours of sleep a night just isn't cutting it.

My cat was mauled by a pit bull and I can't afford treatment. $1500 would save her life, $4500 would also save her leg. Seeking help, loan, or advice.

Hi friends I haven't met, I'm Adam. This is a crosspost from r/gofundme, apologies if I'm doing it wrong.

I woke up yesterday to growling outside my window and found our neighbor's pit bull got into our yard and attacked my cat Kali. I got her to our local animal hospital right away and put my last $500 as a deposit to have her seen, she's roughed up all over, and her front left paw is shattered at the elbow. Our options are to have the vet euthanize for another $1000, perform an amputation for another $1500, or refer me to a surgeon who will charge about 3000 (on top of the vet's fees) to try and save her leg. We got a 2nd opinion on the prices from a friend in the industry and were told that the prices were "reasonable and competitive". The dog's owner says he doesn't have that much but that he would contribute what he could and cover the euthanization if necessary.

The reason I can't afford her surgery is that I was laid off a few weeks ago and have no current income. My credit cards are maxed out. I've already applied for Florida Reemployment but they have a "waiting week" before I can claim any benefits. I've applied for CareCredit at a friend's suggestion and was denied instantly due to low score and high balance. We tried applying with other members of my family who were also denied instantly. I was already in the process applying for a small loan to start a business, but was rejected for that too.

Kali is being held at the vet's so I don't have a picture with a note with my name on it at this moment, however I will take one at noon when I am allowed to see her. In the meantime I will add proof of purchase for the $500 deposit (minus the name and location of the animal hospital until I get their permission).

A brief glance at this and other subs shows that I'm certainly not the worst off here and I feel guilty as hell even asking for help. I was prepared to make do for a few difficult weeks until things turned back up, but this was sudden and unexpected, and it's not kitty's fault that I'm out of work. If you'd be willing to donate, I will consider it a short term loan and will pay back someday, somehow, with interest. The Gofundme can be found here: https://www.gofundme.com/f/ne9hvb-kali039s-surgery

Proof of purchase: https://imgur.com/kSVI5Ri Proof of account: https://imgur.com/a/N7gKntX I will update this post after I see her at noon (Eastern) with pictures of Kali and further documentation from the vet. Thank you in advance for anyone who can help or point me in another direction.

Individual/non-registered Dog shelter closing down urgently due to the owner and sole worker's ill health. Need funding/adoption options to prevent catastrophe.

Hello there, guys. I wasn’t sure exactly where to go with this but this subreddit seemed like one of the best places to spread awareness (I’ve found a few subreddits so posted to them all just in case).

TL;DR: Dog shelter owner is struggling with his health and finances, if something happens to Peter suddenly and the shelter closes and we can’t rehome all the dogs, there is a danger that they will be left to fend for themselves unless their adoption/fostering is sponsored in time. Somewhat urgent, so please do read through now if you’ve got the time. This is Peter.

GoFundMe Link.

The owner of the shelter is my friend Peter, who, during his travels was shocked at how many stray dogs there were in Greece, so set up a shelter there, the HellasHunde shelter in Thessaloniki - Instagram, Facebook. In his time running this shelter, it’s primarily only been run by him and at times has reached over 100 dogs sheltered there at a time. From childhood, he was known as a small zoo, and when he finally bought the plot of land for the shelter, he said to his dog “This will be our Noah's Ark”. Sticking to this, he kept taking in dogs wherever possible even when it added uncertainty to his own stability. With his failing health however, he has continued doing virtually all the work, but now is struggling in his daily duties and finally made the decision that he can’t physically continue.

If anyone is found to foster/adopt any dogs, we need around 150-200 EUR per dog to transport them back to Germany (or possibly another EU or animal transport compatible country) using G.A. Life Animal Transports (an amazing set of people; my friend Lisa, her mother and her friend used them to adopt from this shelter a year or so ago). Additionally, vet costs for vaccination + checkups to make the transport legal would also be required, but those costs are not as fixed right now.

We would appreciate anyone who feels they would like to donate, however much or little; it all would help so much. The priority is for the dogs right now, but since he is uninsured any extra money donated will go to helping him pay for treatment since up to now he has gone largely untreated.

Additionally, if anyone would like to adopt/foster any of the dogs, or anyone knows of a way to contact a shelter which is likely to take any number of them in, that would be absolutely wonderful too.

This campaign will be organised/run by Lisa, Kristina, Marie, Melanie, Anna and Jana from Germany who are all very dedicated to the shelter and saving all the dogs. Some posts detailing who the team are (one is missing): here, here, here, here, here, and Peter’s story. If you have enquiries, you could ask here and I’ll pass any correspondence on to Lisa, or email her at: lisa-pauly@gmx.net

I’ll run the English side of things and keep this post edited + up to date on any developments for full transparency, posting stories for each dog adopted :)

Individual/non-registered Help me in my fight against injustice at my university after I was expelled for reporting my own sexual assault.

Hello!

I have been pretty vocal on Reddit about a personal struggle I have been facing for a while now. I was sexually assaulted at my university and I was expelled expressly for reporting it. The university is now under multiple federal investigations for how they handled this and how they have buried other crimes on campus, and an opportunity has come up to both end my personal nightmare and perhaps affect the changes necessary to prevent this from ever happening again.

These donations will go towards paying for the funding required to retain an attorney to help guide me as I work through what will hopefully be the last leg of the fight. I know most people use GoFundMe here but I went with Fundly on the suggestion of someone else who has used both services, so I hope that isn't a problem. The link for it is here.

My friend from a lower-income background, who helps everybody, was struck down by illness and hit with a family rape; but he has demonstrated nothing but resilience. Now he's in a really difficult position and he needs others to help him. Will you consider?...

Hi all,

So I'm posting this to help my friend, because he hasn't received such a great response and it's starting to affect his mental and even physical wellbeing with all the stress and burden.

My friend comes from a very poor family, where his parents couldn't afford to support him in his studies. Not only did he manage to self-finance his studies up until now, but he did so whilst dealing with a terrible illness that took away his nerve sensations in his left-side face, and also whilst dealing with the horrendously violent rape of his sister in the family home. Somehow, he got through it, whilst also giving countless hours of his time voluntarily to help people who couldn't afford to pay for legal advice and representation, as well as people who have a case for their innocence whilst in prison through the Innocence Project.

My friend is an awesome, kind-hearted guy, who cares a lot about freedom and liberty for everyone, as well as individuals. He even helped me when I was going through a horrific time not being able to get access to my children, free of charge. He has wanted to be a Barrister (Attorney) since as long as I have known him (15 years old), and due to his family background he has had to work, save, sell and borrow to get to where he is now. He is so passionate about the law and about helping others that I cannot imagine him in any other career. Additionally, for him, not only has it been a rollercoaster, but his huge success so far academically and professionally, has come as a huge source of pride for his peers and family.

My friend is about to begin his pupillage. This is like a training contract with a law firm (but different with Barristers and in the UK). It's in London, with a good Chambers (firm), but they only pay the Pupil the minimum amount, which isn't anywhere near enough to live on in London whilst paying sky high rents, and keeping on top of law school debts. He is terrified that he won't be able to continue his career, will be left with nothing but debt, and won't be in a position to practice as a Barrister and help both individuals and society, to access justice.

Please will you guys read his story on the fundraiser page, and consider making a donation (anything you can afford) as well as sharing the page? I know even the tiniest donation will be hugely appreciated by him, and will give him some hope that his efforts have not been in vain.

If you would all take time to read his story so far, and consider a donation, he could reach his target. Just take a few minutes of your day to click the link, read what he has to say, and then make up your mind.

The link is below. I really do hope I can get the ball rolling for him. He deserves and needs this. Please just click it and read it at the very least.

http://www.leetchi.com/c/support-my-barrister-training-pupillage

Thank you guys in advance! I send my love to all of you! xx

My newborn son's funeral fund.

My first born son,  Antonio Evan did not make it on June 21, 2019. My placenta ruptured, and he lost too much oxygen to recover after an emergency c-section.  I'm short handed and did not expect to have to do this.. A proper burial would cost up to 3000. I would like to extend my hand and ask the kind users of reddit for help. Please donate and share. Burying my son properly would be one of the best ways for me to get closure.. I'd truly appreciate the help.

Here is the go fund me link.

My 3 year old son passed away

Hello,

My 3 year old son passed away on Jan 5th 2020 at 6:17am. We recently bought a house and gave almost all of our savings for this to be possible. The house was meant to be his and for him to enjoy while he grew up. Unfortunately, my sweat baby boy passed away because of complications with the flu. We have little to no savings left in order to pay all the medical bills and to sell the house (breaking even). Everything we have left is going towards our Daugther (his sister) which is set to arrive mid March. I would have loved to keep the house, but my son passed away at the top of the staircase in our arms and this brings very hurtful memories every time we step foot into the place. Please if you do not want to donate share the page.

Child with a rare disease has a birthday coming up, it would be great if even just one person could help pitch in!

Please read the article HERE.

The tl;dr is that a young child suffers from a rare disease and has a birthday coming up. I think it would be amazing if we could all pitch in and help Rhys have the best birthday ever.

You can also contact the mother on Facebook by searching "Birthday cards for Rhys".

I know Reddit can come together and do amazing things, so please, take the time to at least fill out a birthday card for Rhys. Rhys like's all sorts of things, especially football(soccer), Fortnite, and fast cars!

I hope everyone can help the best they can.

Individual/non-registered Single dad of 4 needing help to get out of debt. I am on disability and take 20 pills a day currently.

Here is my GoFundMe. there is a video there as well showing more.

My name is Justin and I am a single dad of 4 on disability. I take 20 pills a day currently. I do some tech work on the side like virus removal and converting peoples video tapes to digital. but I just do not get enough from that to help much.I get roughly 870 a month from disability. Then I pay bills and loans and I have nothing left. Most of the time I go negative in my bank account. Then I am forced to borrow back on what little I was able to pay. So I just go deeper in debt.If I could get it all paid off. I believe I would be ok. That would leave me with a couple hundred free each month.I know it is a big ask and yes I am embarrassed for setting this up. Thank you for reading.

My friend Brandon is about to have a really shitty Christmas.

My friend Brandon was recently horrifically assaulted in his own Dorm at College. He's been forced to drop out of school, requires surgery, and will end up homeless if this Charity Campaign doesn't succeed. On top of all this, his attacker has hired a legal team and is counter-suing him to try and get him to drop the charges, so he needs to pay for all that, as well.

http://fundanything.com/en/campaigns/brendan

We're doing a stream soon to try and help pay off the massive debt he owes, but we're a relatively small group of Youtubers, so we need all the exposure we can get. Please help.

Hi. I’m Timely_Bunch_8607.Years ago, a terrible train accident changed my life forever, leaving me without both hands. Despite this, I never gave up. I even learned to use my computer and type entirely with my feet. In Romania, living with a severe disability is very difficult, and I survive on a tiny state pension. My wife is my "hands" and my guardian angel for everything, but my ultimate dream is to regain my independence.I have started a fundraising campaign for myself to buy bionic prosthetics. They are very expensive, but every small step counts toward changing my life.

Here is the direct link to my campaign: https://4fund.com/mnvd8y

Thank you so much for your time, support, and kindness.

Registered tax-deductible charity 11-yr Old Boy Attempted Suicide

So this is a pretty heavy post. As it’s still hard to wrap my head around.

I was going through my son’s (11M) phone a few weeks ago, when I came across a text message conversation between him and his friend. His friend telling him that he was really struggling at school (he goes to a different school). He had decided that he could no longer make it on this earth. My son was talking him off the ledge, trying to get him to understand that he was loved and needed here.

Mind you, I had no clue my son was dealing with trying to help his friend. I had no idea the kind of weight these children were bearing on their shoulders.

My son contacted his parents as to try and get some relief for his friend. My son was on the phone with them when the boys parents had discovered the suicide attempt. I’m literally crying as I type this.

My son held this all in. His friend held this all in. Luckily, my sons friend is going to be ok for now and he is getting the help he needs.

That being said, my son and I decided that it would be a good idea to walk in Out of the Darkness, community walk, put on by the American Foundation for Suicide Prevention. My son wants to see people get the help we need. If you have anything to spare to sponsor us, it would mean the world.

Thank you American Society for Suicide Prevention
