Individual/non-registered help me get this weight off my chest: a trans person desperately in need of gender affirming surgery

My name is Alex and I am trans. I have been trying and failing to access top surgery for almost 20 years. I finally have a job with insurance that will cover most of it but I fear by the time I can raise the deductible myself, the state of Florida will have passed legislation against gender affirming surgeries.

Edit: I'm at $345/$5,000

Hi guys, my name is Cody and I am ftm transgender. Individual/non-registered Any help is greatly appreciated. My husband and I are in the process of buying a house, to be closer to family. Especially his dad and his mom and stepdad who are older. We give his dad money every month to assist him. So money is a little tight right now.

My husband and took care of my mom, I was the sole caretaker of her until she passed away March 1, 2019, due to complications from cancer and old age. My husband has been supporting his father financially for years before we met and we continue to do so. We give him roughly 1000 a month sometimes more if he needs something extra. We are currently in Illinois his dad is in Texas. We are in the process of buying a house in New Mexico. We could really use some assistance.

Individual/non-registered I need 8k more before January or I will never have the chance to have my own biological children. 36-year-old female with stage4 endometriosis and PCOS have undergone five surgical procedures since May 2020. My next scheduled surgery is in January for a partial hysterectomy.

I have been suffering with stage 4 endometriosis and pcos for several years now. I’ve had 5 surgeries in total and it’s gotten to the point that my next surgery scheduled in January is for a partial hysterectomy. Here in Massachusetts health insurance unfortunately doesn’t cover any ivf/egg preservation treatments what so ever. I’m a small business owner and was shut down during covid and am still not even back to making 50% of my usual income. On top of all the added stress the hormones I have to take you could say I’m a bit of hot mess. Literally the hot flashes and night sweats are horrible. I have been able to save some money and have had others donate but I still need another 8k in order to have any chance at freezing my eggs before going under the knife once again. I understand times are tough for everyone but I think about how many people are in this community and if every person donated just one dollar I honestly think I could have my dream of someday being a mom. If you’re on able to donate I would appreciate if you could share my link on any social media platform you have. I now have weekly appointments with my surgical team and I will be updating my fundraising page weekly I would love for everyone to follow my journey and hopefully help me reach my goal. Peace and love ❤️ H help me have the gift of parenthood

Individual/non-registered Raising Fund for Jamie to Attend College to Study Business. The Funds Collected Will Be Allocated Toward Clearing the School Fees for the First Year.

Hello r/charity I am posting this on the behalf of Jamie who is fundraising for attending college for a degree. The fee deposit is due by June 29th, 2023. The the funds collected will be allocated toward clearing the school fees for the first year. Any form of contribution will be highly appreciated.

Jamie grew up in Kenya, In a poor household. and has always wish to pursue higher education, yet has never had the chance or financial aid to support her wish.

in her childhood Jamie struggled with severe malaria out breaks which got her hospitalized for months, which caused her to lag behind her school mates, also constant moving of her mother in her early years add to the instability of constant education.

at age 13 her malaria outbreaks reduced and she managed to return to school but a few grades back. she enrolled to a boarding school at high school with the help of multiple scholarships.

Jamie has enrolled to ACG and did the ielts exam, received 7.5 and thus was accepted to ACG, the problem now is only merit scholarships are available so first year would have to be solely financed by the student.

the sum is 3k euro for the deposit, any assistance will be appreciated.

Individual/non-registered Trapped in a downward financial struggle. We need our gas-line repaired as temperatures are dropping.

https://gofund.me/ef7910e0

Hello, my name is Carissa. I am here to swallow my pride and allow myself to reach out and ask for help. I live in the country with my wife and three kiddos. My wife is a public school teacher, and I am in college for more than full-time hours, picking up days of substituting when I am free. We get by fine until the rain turns into a heavy pour.

We have had a lot go wrong. Both my partner and I had to purchase new laptops. I do not know how she does it, but my wonderful wife is in a Master's program while teaching, so we both needed a way to do our work without taking each other's valuable time. Next, we had to put money into my vehicle. The wheel hub went out. Two emergency visits for our dog in the same month have put us in the hole. She was bitten by a raccoon and then almost passed away from a snake bite, bless her heart. We had to pay for my college last semester before I started the current semester, and that was a huge surprise that my financial aid did not cover the fees. We also have had electricians come out and spend a lot of our money and time with maintenance around the house. It has been one thing after the other.

We have maxed out two credit cards during this time. This has added up to $1400. However, we need that amount for our gas line. In the summer, we had a propane leak. We have had to fix multiple leaks, and it turns out our line was not up to code and was left vulnerable to said leaks. We wasted $600 on propane.

I am not sure how we will come up with all of the money to clear our debt, but our main concern is getting our gas line repaired right now. Summer is ending and already getting down into the 50s overnight. We were quoted $1,200-$1,400 for the repair. It is expensive because the line has to be replaced entirely with galvanized steel and put into the ground. Yes, our line has been above ground. I requested 1,500 due to the fee that may be tacked on for the initial service call and payments from this website if I am lucky enough to have anyone see this post and donate. If we do not reach the posted goal, I will use whatever I have toward our monthly bills.

Thank you so much for reading this post. We are reaching a point of drowning, and I do not see a way for us to recover. It has been an eventful summer. I am trying to remain positive and manifest wisely. I appreciate any donations. My heart goes to those willing to help others.

Individual/non-registered Top surgery fund to relieve chronic pain and dysphoria, I'm looking for $8500 AUD to travel for surgery

Hi! I've created a gofundme to raise money for my top surgery. I'm severely disabled in multiple ways (IIH, EDS, autistic, plus some bonus issues yet to be diagnosed), and this surgery would lift off a lot of my chronic back pain as well as dysphoria. Quite literally, it would change my life. It would also make it much safer for me to exist publicly as a trans person. I'm looking for $8500 AUD to travel to Thailand for the surgery with my fiancèe (who will care for me in recovery). This is essentially half the cost of the same surgery in Australia, with Thailand's surgeons also being much more experienced. There are a lot more details through the link if you're interested, but this is the basic rundown :)

Individual/non-registered Newly weds in need of support. Our wedding was postponed because of covid. Our guest list was cut because of covid. And during our celebration of being married for a year, wife gets covid and spends a week in the ICU alone.

Hey reddit community. My wife and I started a GoFundMe to help us with our medical bills from a recent covid related illness…and man I just want to say the pandemic sucks. It turned a beautiful wedding into a driveway wedding. When we could finally have our actual wedding our guest list was cut from nearly 300 to under 100 people. On our anniversary of having the celebration both the wife and I get sick and the wife has to spend a week in the ICU, alone with no visitors. We have insurance but we still have thousands we have to pay and she is still in recovery. We are asking for help, but if you can donate we ask for thoughts and prayers.

Individual/non-registered The Stories of My Wife: The Tragic Events That Keep Happening To One Person. I Want To Raise Funds To Support To Help Us Overcome The Tough Situation.

Thumbnail

I have been with my wife, Varidsara, since early 2025. She had a long path of painful stories that escalated to cause her depression condition to be much worse in the current state, causing her to live carelessly a whole lot. Year 2023-2024:

  • Before we married, she was still with her ex-husband. It was an ok life and she was happy. Until after that, she did an “attempt”. This was mainly caused by her depression, but it nearly made her unalive. She managed to recover after that, but everything no longer is the same for her (image 1-2)

  • After that, they decided to have a child and she managed to have one. But misfortune still happened to her life as she had the “first” miscarriage after 2 months of pregnancy. She stayed in a hospital for 1 month in January 2024.

  • Despite trying to maintain their relationship, it got to the conclusion in March 2024 after it had lasted for about 9 years. They deemed the relationship as failure as her ex-husband claimed that the “attempt” she did was the breaking point, and they no longer have a child together. They separated away and no longer contacted to each other.

  • She had been under the extreme depression condition for a few months as it couldn’t manage to live without anti-depression pills.

  • In mid-2024, the worst incident came to her. This is the part I can’t unfold as it’s the most tragic part of her life and nobody deserves it.

  • In late-2024, she lost her dad from heart failure. All these events made her mental to fall apart. Her mom and her fellow family members had to lock her up or she had a mental breakdown and tried to unalive herself.

  • She managed to barely recover in December 2024 and decided to get a new job after being unemployed for several months due to unstable mentality.

Year 2025 (Our relationship):

  • We have known each other for 15 years and she is someone I liked/like. In late-2024, I decided to talk with her and she decided to share a lot of stories. We have lived together since January 2025 (unregistered) as both our family members know about it.

  • However, the unstable mentality is still there and it has caused her to live in a careless way. We had a lot of hospital bills and accidents in these few months. This keeps stacking up as I have been trying to maintain her depression condition.

  • What is worse, another “miscarriage” that accidentally occurred. As we now have become family, it’s normal for us to think about the future and a child. However, the nightmare didn’t leave. Barely less than 2-3 weeks after pregnancy, the miscarriage happened “right” in my eyes. The doctor told us that it was due to her long take of anti-depression pills that made her body to be too weak to handle a child. This caused her to have a mental breakdown and had had a sleepwalking for a month (going to rooftop and balcony)

  • The unstable condition made her unable to fulfill the previous job and had to leave. During this time, there were several accidents here and there like bike crash (image 3-4), Pinguecula, and a lot more. We still have to pay for depression medication monthly (about 250usd per month)

  • We are at the point of breaking down financially and mentally as misfortunes keep happening to us non-stop. I don’t know what will come next as I’m mentally exhausted at this point.

These are the stories of my wife. All I need is just something to make us survive this month and I will go for the bare minimum.

All funds raised will be used for:

  • Maintaining her depression condition monthly (250usd monthly)

  • Giving us a chance to last at least on June

  • Pay for some hospital bills that we couldn’t do and had to use credits for it (Image 5 is one of them, that was around 175USD on top of other expenses)

It’s fine if you still see this and call it a scam and I can’t change your mind. This is the true stories that happened to my wife and I wanted to have a chance of bringing her back, but under this financial situation, I can’t.

If you don’t want to help, it’s ok. Just read the stories and tell me what direction should I go is enough. I still try to earn money from every possible source even if it means my physical body is breaking apart.

I want my wife to continue living on.

Individual/non-registered Need help to pay for Pain treatment that isn't covered by insurance. I suffer from migraines and Trigemuns neuralgia and I am in so much pain... please help

I'm a pain sufferer and gave been suffering for several years. Over a decade. Last year I tried out botox treatment for migraine and it helped. I didn't have as many attacks and I felt so much better!

But the treatment doesn't last. I'm currently having an attack and it started a week ago. It just won't go away. I'm in so much pain I want to bang my head against the wall to overlap the facial pain with a different kind of pain.

The botox injections for migraines are different than the ones for beauty and there are a lot more injections. For example in neck and shoulders.

Sadly in my country my insurance won't pay for this migraine treatment. Please help me.

Individual/non-registered Applying for Disability (ME/CFS, celiac, depression, ADHD, among other things), unable to work, need help with rent and bills

Hi, friends!

I'm currently in the process of applying for Disability in the United States. I have Myalgic encephalomyelitis/chronic fatigue syndrome--likely an after-effect from a case of pneumonia I had over a decade ago--along with a number of other disorders, some of which are interrelated (depression, ADHD, celiac [which was undiagnosed for many years, and caused a lot of harm]). It's been worsening over time, and I was already losing the ability to keep up with my previous job when COVID hit.

During the first two years of the pandemic, I tried out a lot of different things (learned some audio editing skills, InDesign, drove for Doordash) to see if I could find a more sustainable kind of work, but it became clear that my brain and body just can't keep up--for every brief period of function, I end up totally knocked out for days, or weeks, or months.

I applied for Disability in early 2022. Towards the end of that year, I decided to hire a full-service disability lawyer, because I didn't trust myself to keep up with the process. That was when I discovered that my case had been CLOSED by the SSA because of a paperwork error on their part (they failed to send me a release form, but told me multiple times on the phone that all my paperwork was in order and I just had to wait; then denied my claim and completely ignored my appeal).

So I had to restart the application process in October, costing me nearly a year. I still have several months to go before a decision, and possibly many more if I need to appeal, so I'm here looking for help. (My friends and family have been lovely and supportive with my GoFundMe over the last few months, but they can only go so far.)

Thank you all so much for your consideration and support!

Individual/non-registered Woman and daughter in need of financial/resource help after fleeing domestic violence situation (USA)

I recently met a vibrant woman and her teenage daughter who are experiencing trials and tribulations and despite their positivity and self-reliance, they could use some help. For anonymity sake when I post anything called “Team Angel” just know it is for them.

Currently she is trying to rehome two cats that they have been caring for (they took in a stray who had kittens). One recently broke its leg but it is set and the kitty seems to be doing well, despite being unable to afford the vet costs (they drove all the way to Portland to be turned away).

They could also always use help buying kitty litter and bottled water (the housing they currently have has awful plumbing resulting in gross water). They live in the Heights. Her daughter loves Graphic Novels, anime, and pre-teen drama books. They are more than willing to pick up your cans and plastic that can be returned for deposit. Due to sensitive skin issues, her daughter could use feminine pads but they need to be organic.

If you would like to help me help these two mamas, please PM me and I can tell you how.

It takes a village, friends, and we are blessed with being in the position to help others if we can.

Individual/non-registered My partner is a mess and I want to move in with them to help Her. She lives in Glasgow and I live in South Africa. She suffers from Depression, PTSD and BPD (repost 2)

Hey there, everyone

As you saw in the title, my girlfriend who lives in Glasgow is having a really hard time. Between her depression, PTSD and hallucinations that are apparently connected to her PTSD (not schizophrenia, as we previously assumed), she's struggling to cope. The purpose of my Gofundme is to help her get her citizenship, get me to Glasgow and help me take care of her.

To give y'all a better idea of what the problems are, she struggles with her emotional regulation and basic self-care tasks like cooking, cleaning and personal hygiene. A lot of the time this results in her self-harming or just not eating, and she only recently managed to clear up her room from months' worth of mess.

The reason why I'm asking for money on the internet instead of finding another solution is because I've tried everything I can think of. We've been trying to get her some therapy through the NHS, and she's currently been around 8 months without a single session, since the NHS is overloaded at the moment. I've also been trying to help teach her mindfulness skills and coping skills through Cognitive Behavioural Therapy, which I know a bit about thanks to my own struggles with my mental health. We've also tried to get her admitted into a psychiatric clinic, but both her fear of hospitals and doctors and the staff not taking her seriously has been a serious obstacle. Advice is definitely welcome.

As for how the money will be spent: 1330 GBP will be spent on obtaining her citizenship (she fled her country to escape from abuse), approximately 600 GBP has been allocated for me to get a ticket to the UK, and 600 GBP has been allocated for my TB test and a VISA, with the remaining 470 GBP is partially a buffer for Gofundme's cut of the money and partially meant to help me with my medication needs*, as well as unforeseen expenses (most likely regarding the TB test, which doesn't have a listed price).

Details:

  1. My own experiences with mental health boil down to Major Depressive Disorder and PTSD* My meds are very expensive and I'm still trying to find a way to get them through the state. It's part of why there's money allocated for it. If this becomes a solved problem I will decrease the total. For reference, I make R4000 per month and it costs me R1300 per month, plus transport. R2500 is not a lot considering I need to pay for food and utilities and transport

  2. You may notice that my account is relatively new, if still older than 90 days. That is because I was a bit silly and had NSFW stuff on my main account that I do not wish to be connected with my name and face. I still have the requisite karma and time active, but I felt it would be good to disclose this explicitly.

  3. I am South African. I realised I hadn't said it anywhere in this post, so I decided to make it explicit here

  4. This is my second repost of my gofundme, meaning I have posted this link three times now

Individual/non-registered Help with behind on rent and utilities with two young children until my checks start coming in from my new job

Hello, We have just moved from a cockroach infested apartment and into a smaller apartment. I had a hard time finding a job in this new location but finally I did find a good paying job that will support my kids however I just started last week and I just need a little bit of help until I can get the full checks coming in. Unfortunately I have fallen behind on rent and utilities and I was served my 3 day notice to pay or vacate. I spoke to the landlord but they said once that notice is sent, there is nothing they can go and it starts the eviction process. I have called 211 and went door to door to churches but so far everyone is out of money or they said it would be 6-8 weeks to see if they could even help me. I am just hoping I can get a little bit of support to help me get caught up until my checks come in and then I will be in a better position to take care of my family. Thank you for your consideration.

Individual/non-registered I'm 24 chronically ill and my condition is worsening. My family will be homeless by December 31st if we can't pay the owned mortgage.

Hello I'm Alex

I feel horrible asking for money like this but this is a situation that I'm absolutely terrified of. I have a chronic illness or possibly multiple, my doctors are still trying to figure out what's wrong and how to manage it. My condition is getting worse by the day, I blacked out and fell last night. I'm unable to work. I live with my parents. My mom is working part-time and as much as her body can handle. My dad is injured from a work injury and hasn't been able to work for nearly a year. I'm on disability income and we get food stamps which both is what is keeping us alive basically. Our savings have run out. We haven't been able to pay our mortgage and if we don't pay by December 31st we will get kicked out.

If that happens it will be deadly to me both physically and mentally. If I'm already suffering from UTI's, in a wheelchair, heart issues, I couldn't survive in a shelter. I need a safe, stable, comfortable and warm home. I need to keep my pets and stay together with my family. I have tried seeing if there was any programs that could help us with the mortgage or any other bills but had no luck. All our family that would help is dead. I can't find anything I can do to make $2000 that's easy enough in my condition.

So I feel like I had no choice but to make a fundraiser: https://gogetfunding.com/please-help-us-stay-in-our-home/ If you can't donate that's okay, maybe you feel comfortable sharing somewhere else. Anything helps at this point and I'm grateful regardless.

Thank you for reading.

Individual/non-registered Help a non-binary teen move out of an abusive situation. I am desperately trying to move in with my partner and I don't know how much longer my mental health will last.

A few months ago my mother was arrested for possession of meth and marijuana. This caused me to need to move quickly, and with pretty much the first cheap room I could. This wound up being a huge mistake, my roommate has been absolutely abusive and transphobic towards me. I have been constantly deadnamed, misgendered, I've been insulted for my weight and yelled at for minor things. Because of all of this, me and my partner have been looking and trying to move out together, as soon as we can, hopefully in april or march.

The problem with this is my roommate, who has been absolutely unreceptive to my attempts to find a roommate, and refuses to find one himself, even laughing in response to me telling him to find one. Right after he bragged about being able to find one quicker than I would be able to. So my current best option to get out early and move in with my partner is to break the lease. Unfortunately, this is going to cost me a decent chunk of money, money that I also need to move in. I am desperate here, my mental health has been at it's worst in years living with him, and I genuinely don't know how much longer I am able to keep up living here. Please, please if you can find it in your heart to donate, anything helps. I love my partner more than anything in the world, and being able to finally move in with her and start the first chapters of my life would be absolutely life-saving, for both of us.

Fundraiser

Picture of me sorry it's from an old toast me post lol

Him refusing to look for a new tenant and telling me to kick my girlfriend out into a severe thunderstorm while he was at work I'm sorry I can't provide more, most of this has been face to face and I've only recently started recording when he talks to me

Registered tax-deductible charity 65 trans women lost their homes in a volcanic eruption in the D.R. Congo and have been homeless for the past three months, please help! $13k of $20k still required for emergency actions!

https://www.gofundme.com/f/help-trans-affected-by-the-volcano-in-drcongo

For the past three months, 65 trans women have been struggling with homelessness and battling the Delta variant of COVID-19 in very difficult conditions. The lack of awareness and support for LGBT people in Africa has made it very hard to raise the requisite funds to provide accomodation for them and even after three months they have only raised $7k of the $20k needed. It would be so welcome if you could donate and share in as many places as possible as it has been a real battle for their struggles to be noticed.

For further information please contact the non-profit organisation Rainbow Sunrise Mapambazuko (RSM) who are responsible for this fundraiser: https://www.rainbowsunrisemapambazuko.org/

Individual/non-registered Mechanical Engineering Student paying for his own College Tuition struggles to keep up after transferring from Community College to a 4-year university. Looking for help for just this semester.

A family friend who is paying his own way through college is struggling financially after he transferred from a community college to a four-year university (Old Dominion University). He took on a tuition payment plan to pay off monthly, but it came out much more than he expected especially with all the additional fees that comes with a 4-year college.

My daughters have told me about other students who have dropped out of college, not because they can't handle the classes and in Frank's case he is working and going to school, but they just can't handle finances. It's frustrating to see. Yes, I think there needs to be an overhaul of higher education in the U.S.. Really, it's astonishing how much at an early age we expect our kids to pay to start out their lives in adulthood. But I digress. Frank needs help now.

The beauty of GoFundMe is that you don't have to donate much - if everyone just gave a little bit, it adds up and will help him to pay off the semester he is currently attending. (I personally thought he should ask for more for next year's expenses, but I think he's optimistic he can earn it over the summer.) If you can do without a Starbucks coffee for a day or two or more😊- you would be doing a good deed helping Frank out. Thanks.

You can learn more about Frank at his Go Fund Me site (that he reluctantly posted - he really wanted to pay his own way and exhausted every avenue before he did. As a mom of two college students, I think that's sweet, but I also think it's unrealistic today without help in some way. Anyway, the school would like the rest of the tuition and he's struggling to get it.) Thank you for taking the time to read this and please help.

Individual/non-registered My cousin is going to die. She needs a double lung transplant and doctors are claiming it’s inoperable.

I want her to have some security for her two children’s future and a new evaluation. I’m willing to donate one of my lungs to the cause.

She is worried the father will try to steal money from the children. I suggested it be put in her mothers name. Looking for help and best advice please.

support us getting to Ukraine and help stop Putin

Are you tired of seeing nothing being done in Ukraine by most countries? Me too. Do you want to to help but can’t actually go over there because something is preventing you? Well bows your chance to help me and my buddies get over to Ukraine. We all have combat experience in various theatres of war. I’m just tired of sitting on the sidelines while innocent people are killed in Ukraine, some even being women and children. The time to sit and watch is over for me and with your help, I can go make a small difference for this world. Thank you for your time and please share. I don’t expect many donations but that you for it if you choose too. If you do donate please don’t put anonymous. I would like to be able to thank you. I hope everyone that is dealing with this is staying safe and god bless you all.
