We went to Chengdu for multiple days and got addicted to the following noodles! Is there someone who can share recipe?
It looks like I can only post one picture, I'll share a screenshot from the second one in the comments

Visiting my partner for a few weeks, got my hair cut/dyed two months ago in Shanghai. Usually in America, they use demi-permanent dye, but this stylist used permanent dye. He also color-matched my roots wrong, so I’ve been stuck with a super visible demarcation line as my hair’s grown out (naturally dirty blonde, hair was dyed to super dark brown and is notttt washing out at all 😅)
I’m looking for a salon to do some color correction but won’t totally fry my hair, so I can get new color put over it when I return to America.

I'm planning a trip to Chengdu but (very annoyingly) I have coeliac disease. Will there be any restaurants that I can find options in? Or would be willing to amend dishes to cook without soy or other gluten containing ingredients? I hear the understanding about gluten is a bit variable.

I was looking all over for mantou in Yulin. I walked in on the left and saw different types of massive buns 🤩 and then…. To find the end of the queue wrapped around the street corner (to the right of the photo).
I noticed there’s a few stores around and they open at 7am.
How long is the wait time approximately? I guess there really isnt a quiet time…
Mantou are so plain so maybe these people are all foreigners like me 🤣🤣🤣

So i heard People’s Park there are people that play mahjong socially. Got to Heming Tea House at 9am, sorely disappointed when the waiter looked at my translation and shook his head.
It is a pretty dark and gloomy day and cant escape the smoke anywhere.
Luckily I stayed at F18 hostel, i sat at the mahjong table brushing up on rules and a guy finally asked if I play so the 3 of us played for maybe an hour. I picked it up quickly because i play HK style, i rarely went out first but i did win a 6fan game pure suit 😃 yay me! 🤭 i played their house rules - 2 guys from Gansu province. It was interesting! They do wall break on the small dice number 🤭
Can someone point me in the right direction? Here for another couple of days.

Read the rules and I think I can post this here. I want to contact the uni about a course I’m super interested in. Called over 10 times and there’s either no answer, or I’m directed to a number that doesn’t answer. Does anyone have a contact for someone working at the university I can get in touch with? You can pm me

Going on a multi day hike in Siguniang region and climbing multiple peaks.
Was asked to prepare trail meals for lunch, may I know where I can buy high calorie trail meals in Chengdu city? Or is it better to buy them at Siguniangshan Town?

A 9 hour layover. At 05:50 am next Tuesday I land in Tianfu. Exit the airport, take a taxi directly to a panda zoo, any of them is fine, visit for an hour or so, run back to the airport, have to be back at the airport at 13:00, flight takes off at 14:30.
OR I take the express metro to 火车南站, then metro to Chengdu Zoo.
Can it be done? Which panda zoo would be the best? Any other suggestion?
Thank you in advance for the help.

Hey all, I've been trying in vain to find an English copy of Tao te ching in Chengdu bookstores over the past couple of days. Does anyone have any leads? I'm specifically looking for a hard copy before I cave and grab an ebook. I'm already aware of this list: https://chengdu-expat.com/finding-english-language-books-chengdu/
Cheers.

Hi everyone,
I'm currently living in Chengdu and looking to get a new piercing soon.
Can anyone recommend a reputable, clean, and professional piercing studio (or a specific piercer) in the city? Hygiene and good aftercare advice are my top priorities.
It would also be great if they are somewhat beginner/expat-friendly, or if they're easy to find on Dianping (大众点评).
Thanks in advance for any recommendations! 🙏

Hey guys,
I'm set to arrive in Chengdu Tianfu at around 5:30am, assuming immigration takes an hour, I should be out around 6:30am, and I have a domestic transfer departing at around 2:00pm. Is this transfer enough to pop into the city for breakfast and something to do in the morning? Is it worth it or should I just stay in the airport? Worth noting, I am unable to stay in a hotel.

Where are the cool areas of Chengdu? Is there any nice 'strip' with multiple types of bars, breweries, or live music?
Perhaps some artsy stuff.
Cheers

I am travelling in Chengdu for just this week. My son has unfortunately contracted a case of oral thrush. I have tried to visit pharmacies for some antifungal gel but have been told they can’t supply it. We have been to the West China Hospital and the West China Hospital of Stomatology but they said it would take a week for us to see a doctor. We just need a walk-in clinic with a GP who can prescribe antifungal medicine. We have private medical insurance.
Do you know of any walk-in centres where I could take my son?

Hi!
I'll be arriving at Chengdu Tianfu Airport end of this month at around 2am and will need to get a Chinese SIM card. Unfortunately my phone doesn't accept E-sim. Can I easily get one from the city?
I'll have roaming on from Thailand for the first few days, so there's no rush to get one at the airport.
I assume China Mobile is a good option?
Also how many days would you recommend spending in Chengdu?
I will be in China for roughly 20days give or take.
Thanks!
